    Just want to say thanks Doc for sharing your work all these years here on youtube. Watching about 3 years now, learnd much, and its allways fun. Thanks a lot!

    That's really beautiful 🤩😍
    I think the "drooping" wing makes it look like a real living creature caught in a moment, as opposed to a perfectly posed symmetrical model. It's stood on a raised area with its wings relaxed. I'm no expert, but I'm my eyes this pose couldn't have been planned better 🤩
    I've no idea how I ended up here, but I have to compliment you on this paint job. Just beautiful 👍

    Excellent video with all sorts of techniques being shown... and a fantastic result.
    As a beginner, the part I found really useful was where you ended up with the paper towel being in shot when you wicked away the excess moisture. That's probably the best indication yet of exactly how thin your paints are, and how much moisture you need to remove from the brush. Hopefully you'll leave the paper towel in shot more often.

    Thank god for that towel!

    Excellent work, never thought to work in different colors to a silver dragon. Hell, most people just slather the model in goopy slivery paint and call it good, you made a fine piece!
    I can't help but think that somewhere out there "Dragon Mistress" Desiree Forester is watching this video and screaming at the top of her lungs while pulling out clumps of her stringy black hair, you didn't do a slap-dash paint job on the model nor did you cover it with glitter!

    The horn color turned out a good idea, I think; it adds a necessary element of warmth to the dragon. I understand your parting words and how--I always want to get back to painting something tiny whenever I paint something really big!

    Thanks as always for the great video. Recently painted the smaller silver dragon by Reaper and used your video as inspiration. Was really helpful. Also I really like that you don’t seem to use much GW paint. I am also a long time Vallejo fan. Thanks again!

    The wings look like the "titanium" finish on firearms; a blend of colors that reminds you of a drop of gasoline in water.

    Although I really liked the yellow belly version the final one still looks good. Sucks that the Reaper plastic tends to have a "memory" with the wing dragging down.

    I love how I can come to this channel whenever I need inspiration for a model because you paint all of them beautifully and make such good almost tutorial style video's. Thank you for making my life so much easier and making all of our game that much more enjoyable. (:

    Looks great! You should try wearing a glove on your left hand when painting these bigger miniatures. It helps with rubbing off paint as you handle it.

    I actually love metallic dragons, but for me the way to make them interesting is to add real nature. Next time you feel like tackling one, may I suggest a rattlesnake pattern under a Copper or Gold drybrush? These look surprisingly plausible when done correctly... which is different with each figure, and I can't POSSIBLY help you with any kind of template. Heh.. and now I haven't helped at all. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!

    Yeah, I haven't tried all the Metal Colors, but In the Metal Air range I cannot tell any difference between the Silver, Chrome or Aluminum... ;)

    This was an amazing dragon I was not able to buy during the kickstarter. It sucks it is not apart of the normal bones line up. I wish they would mention from the beginning which figures will be limited.

  • @DMShalliko
    @DMShalliko Před 4 lety

    Have you tried the Vallejo metal colour paints? They actually blend fairly well, go through the airbrush well, and take pretty well with being tinted from normal paints and inks.

    • @DMShalliko
      @DMShalliko Před 4 lety +1

      and in saying that, I just saw that the MC's were the vallejo metal colour range.

  • @mandasity

    Do you ever revisit previous projects for touchups or to add new things? Cause honestly I'd personally go for an extended base and make it taller to fix the wing problem, I wouldn't be able to not have it lay flat on a table.

    • @ThePaintingClinic
      @ThePaintingClinic  Před 3 lety

      Tested that, but it wouldn't fix the problem. The wing would just dip even lower till it hit the ground. It's too heavy.

    • @mandasity
      @mandasity Před 3 lety

      @@ThePaintingClinic oh boy thats a shame. A tradeoff for using reaper bones and their price point.

  • @Kojak0
    @Kojak0 Před 4 lety

    Very nice - a bold move I'd say to paint such a large figure in metallics; I kind of think of silver dragons as being more white (white-metallic?) that actual metallic.
    That said, how about another build vlog? I effin' love those - I have revisited Nautilus and the other stuff several times already...

    • @StarFyreXXX
      @StarFyreXXX Před 4 lety +1

      i think most ppl use metallics on them due to D&D, where it is stated that their scales are metallic in colour and brightness/sheen, etc. you can get metallic medium that turns any colour into a metallic like effect and try that

    • @alexanderking9462
      @alexanderking9462 Před 4 lety

      it depends on the kind of painting you are doing. in mini painting, not really, but you also don't want to be mashing the bristles in there..

    • @ThePaintingClinic
