I already knew he was gonna be great, but after seeing so many 3rd down sacks last year...when he threw that 3rd and 9 to Tim P. I all but crowned him the goat.
Hopefully Broncos don't get unlucky this time cause this Bo Nix looks good. Thank god Broncos got rid of that Donna Wilson now Steelers have that guy😂👍
I think when Bo looked away at 9:39 as you pointed out after throwing the ball to Javonte he was looking for the LOS. I believe he mentioned it in an interview after the game stating he was aware he was close and thought he got away with it until the instant replay gave it away. Cool to know he’s aware and thinking of that stuff in the moment. Great video!
As a football fan, I've always loved Chase Daniel's takes on qb's! I was rooting for you as a Chicago Bear, as I really thought the job was yours to win. Keep up the great work. You deserve to be a QB coach in this league. Thanks for loving the game the way you do. And don't worry about Bo Nix, he's got this.... Broncos Country, Mount Up!
Broncos fan from WA. As long as he's starting week 1, I'll be at the SeaChicken Coop when he leads the Broncos to a win over SEA. I'm excited, and it's been awhile since I've been able to say that. Kid is special.
You mentioned a “weird throw” on the 1st play. When the running back blocked the end, Bo was avoiding stepping into a throw thinking the defender would’ve rolled into him so I think that’s why he didn’t move his feet. He just threw the ball. Smart Move.
I’m surprised the raiders didn’t trade with the jets, who picked right before the Broncos. It was too risky for the jets probably. Considering the Broncos would have likely traded back in that situation the jets could have lost their tackle. But it would have gone down in history as the raiders screwing the Broncos. Would’ve been epic. Raiders suck though so yeah.
From my childhood it felt like there were so many great QBs that you would have loved to have on your team: Manning(s), Brady, Big Ben, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, Rodgers, etc. and for awhile as these guys started to age out I thought that I would never see football like that again. But I really feel like our new age of those types of QBs are here. It really started in 2017 with Mahomes and for a few years after that it felt like there would be maybe 2 or 3 guys that could even compete with him with the right rosters. But I think this draft class has a chance to cement that new age of QBs that my kids can one day look back on and think “Man I’ll never see football like this again”
It’s refreshing to listen to a proper breakdown that has knowledge behind it and no fluff. First time listener, but I’ll be listening more…keep ‘em coming! Well done!
As a life long Broncos fan I've had my fair share of QB ups and downs. I truly hope Bo Nix can continue his success in the regular season. Watching your breakdown definitely made me feel more confident about it.
With your knowledge of the Payton offense, this is now my go to channel for EXPERT commentary and analysis. Great job! I get tired of some of the other channels out there making comments like "he should have thrown it here instead" when they don't know the progressions of the offense. Look forward to all of your videos being released, on all teams and players.
Been saying and will keep saying Bo was the best QB in the draft! Don't need a long ball to be successful in the NFL! WHAT HE DOES HAVE IS WHAT YA NEED! Was hoping the Steelers would land him but I'm still going to be a Nix fan till he retires!
This class might be looking very very good. Williams looks amazing, Jayden and Bo were great, Penix I think also will be good if he gets to play. Maye is my least confident and even he flashes something. I’m not stoked to have a harder time in AFC West with Chargers, but I was a big Bo fan at Oregon. Dude can play and pairing him with Sean is too perfect.
One thing that Bo does that Wilson couldn't do is throw receivers open. Most of Bo passes are already coming before the receiver turns around. Wilson had to wait until a receiver was wide open to throw it.
Love your take on Bo. You're still my favorite backup QB of all time. I think you were highly underrated and not used nearly enough. As an Auburn fan, I love seeing Bo Nix succeed, but watching you in college at Mizzou was so much fun. I used to go to Saints games a lot with my dad and would always hope they would get far enough ahead to put you in for a series or 2. Watching you over the years, from college all the way until a couple of years ago was a joy. Thanks for the memories.
Bo Nix QB1. It's over. Also, I wish we could see views like this during the game. I always am waiting to see Chase' breakdown because he sees the little things which makes it so much clearer.
lol Super Bowl winning champ almost back to back champ, we caught Russ in his decline, maybe not as methodical as Bo but Russ was mvp candidate for about 4 seasons in a row
Great to hear an unbiased excitement for Bo … I love hearing so many other reporters trying to backpedal when it’s obvious they were so wrong. After watching your interview with Coach and Hearing, your breakdown I am a new fan and subscribed. Watching whole career, I reminded he didn’t win Super Bowls until he had the right coach and the right system… how exciting is it that Bo is getting that from the start!!!
Went to Broncos training camp and I knew he would start then. The Quarterback coach was working with him exclusively and when he threw it was like watching the zip Elway used to put on the ball. This guy is for real. He doesn’t require his own office like Russell Wilson did either.
Your breakdown is AMAZING! I just drafted the dude in Fantasy Football. Paired him up with veteran Kirk Cousins. I LOVE love love the value I got in both of those QB's. Was he going up against the other teams ones? If so, I'd be ecstatic! But these Rookie QB's look to be the best class. JJ was on par to be kill it until he got injured.
Don't be dismayed by good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.
If he does get the day 1 start I just hope that no matter what he doesn’t get benched or flip flopped back and forth. If you are gonna make him the starter he needs to be the starter. Just like Peyton was able to do his rookie year despite throwing nfl record interceptions. Let him play and get experiences. We are already playing on house money this szn anyway since we are down like 60 million dollars cuz of Russ. Super Bowl is not realistic when you have 60 million less to spend than other teams. Make this year about Bo and getting him ready for future seasons when we do have money. And if we happen to win and do well this year despite the handcuffs then that’s just a cherry on top
I so agree with this. Broncos Country is terrible for giving up on a qb after two or three games. Please don't ruin his confidence before he's even played six or so games. I don't think that will happen because he's going to kick ass coming out of the gate, but the fear of what this fan base can do to a young qb scares me to death
Not only did he look at Sean after the throw, but before the throw, he looked behind him to gauge the defenders position, and THEN threw the "touchdown."
Thanks for the breakdown Chase. Much appreciated. I watched several breakdowns of Bo's college game tapes before the draft. It seems Bo is just continuing to do what he did with the Ducks. Friggin awesome. Subscribed🎉
Thank you, Chase, super helpful analyzing this from a QB point of view. Especially when it comes to the order of reads, which most of us cannot see a play and know what the reads were designed to be. What I gather is that Tim Patrick seems to be the first read much of the time, on the underneath cross route. Sometimes it's Sutton, but it seems #12 Patrick is getting the most attention in this film as the #1 route look.
What defensive schemes do you see being more effective against Bo & Co? And if you had to take your pick, which passing option do you think he’ll develop the best relationship with? Breakdown was top tier.
I’m afraid. I think he has that Tom Brady style of dissecting defenses. Brady was NOT as talented as any of the top QBs in his time or now. But he’s the goat for a reason and bo reminds me of him
That’s what I’m saying. When I watched a Oregon game last year I couldn’t believe how easily he got down the field every time. It was like a guaranteed td everytime he got the ball picking apart the defense.
My take away from Bo is this. Being a Bronco fan for 50+ years. He makes the passes look easy. By easy I mean he is throwing with accuracy. We have not seen this since 2015. We are used to these throws being overthrown, under thrown, thrown on the wrong shoulder resulting in a dropped pass or a readjustment from the receiver and they are tackled for loss.
🦆🦆🦆. An early adoption of that Graham Harrell Red Raider power helped me enjoy my first few years of college. Your work at Mizzou significantly contributed to a graduating without any student debt. That was when you had to do some crazy Caribbean moneygram island hoping DSL speed fuck your smart phone laundry gangster ‘are they going to pay me?’ Hardcore shit. Way to go Tiger. Thanks. I hope you did an upload in all caps breaking down Caleb Williams highlights with absolute disregard for three and outs. You probably didn’t; but that seems to sell. Great break down. It’s only pre-season though, so we still have no idea how Bo will hold up against a 1st team NFL defense in the regular season. I think fans are so starved for the Rookie Phenom story at QB that we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Actually that’s not entirely fair. We’re starved for ANY consistent QB success. Lots of rookies have done well in the preseason and then struggled. He’s showing some promise, yes. Footwork is still spotty and consistency there will be important. Offensive line play should be decent (hopefully) and Bo’s success will hinge a lot on that. I’m optimistic.
it wasn't a look away, he was looking for the line of scrimmage. you can tell because he doesn't immediately celly with Sean. But love the rest of the breakdown!

I absolutely agree I've been saying from what I saw in the first preseason game Bo is the man start him stick with him and we will roll with his learning curve he knows how to win I already forgive his future mistakes
As a Broncos fan all you'd have to do on this one is show him throw the ball down the middle of the field, or just circle him after the play. "You see this, he wasn't sacked. He's still standing" ...Done!
First, thanks for the great breakdown. Helpful to learn the different concepts being shown on both sides of the ball. Second, can we not crown him yet? The defense was pretty vanilla. Understandable for pre season. Even you said he missed reads and some that wouldve led to big plays. He played against a straight four man front. No blitz, again its pre season so understandable. Hard to make a determination on these alone. That said, hes doing what SP wants which is get the ball out ASAP. Lets see how he reads disguised defenses and pressure and hit anything beyond a first read.
As a Duck fan, I was happy for the Broncos to get him. A high character guy , with great parents. Hopefully he'll play for them for a long time.
Absolutely feel the same. Go 🦆

Glad to have Bo this is a huge win for Broncos Country
This kid has guts and that’s enough.
Thanks, Chase!! Great video!
Thanks for watching!
As a Broncos fan all you'd have to do on this one is show him throw the ball down the middle of the field, or just circle him after the play. "You see this, he wasn't sacked. He's still standing" ...Done!
He the next John Ellway on the real 💯💯🐴 Let's Goooooo!! Broncos all day €
His “no look” TD throw was not swagger bc he knew it was a TD; it was him checking the sticks bc he knew he was beyond the line of scrimmage.
Really glad to see Bo getting a good start. I wish Justin had a legit coach to start. This should be a really fun season for the Oregon guys!
