In this episode Major Bart McClelland is in charge of advancing the railroad west in the late 1860's he has many obstacles he must overcome including getting a doctor to end of track. This is episode 26 of The Forsaken Westerns, an original TV series produced by Westerns On The Web Productions. The Forsaken Westerns series contains episodes of TV shows that were never broadcast or have not been broadcast in as many as 65 years. This is a memory for me. We watched this show, it was on NBC TV in New York. Our NBC executive neighbor was one of a few awarded a plastic HO scale model of this train, fixed and mounted on a track with a board platform with a Union Pacific plaque. He gave it to me, still packed, and I still have it today, The locomotive, with two cars. I wish I could post a picture here. Jeff Morrow was a very popular actor, and here he was close to 55 years old. These are nice shows. I wish there were more today.

    This show is from a time when almost every boy in America celebrated America’s romance with the RR in electric replica trains. I watched this show in the 50s and had a Lionel O Guage model RR in the basement. RR represented American grit and determination, spinning the continent in the greatest engineering feat in history. People today don’t get it.

      Also the word colonialism during the process of liberating these countries still in the gray area of being civil we brought engineers who built their RR and Shipping Terminals & Docks along with telephone poles to hung wire for electricity and communication

    I heard a coach tell a story about playing a rival and they were running through a defensive tackle, and coach summoned his relief and told him there running all over him. Can you do anything about that. He said, I'll try coach, and coach said, sit down, hell he's trying.

    Softwood ties, soft iron rails that "roll over", a bridge that can't handle floodwaters, no armed protection for their workers. Seems they built a substandard line on a shoestring that deserved to fail.

    You can tell that it was a low-budget series, when supposedly they cross the bridge over the dangerous river, no bridge is seen and the landscape is the same as before.

    Great concept, the Forgotten Westerns, and I fully appreciate them.
    One bit of constructive criticism though... please lose the bats at the opening. It's all wrong and mistakenly gives the impression of a cheesy horror feel.

      @robertfaber6796 Před 2 lety +1

      I understand using the bats as some of these films come from neglected and dark places, but the bats are more suitable for Bella Lugosi films.

    Wanted tall dark haired handsome actors for the 1950/60's Westerns. Will consider shorter light haired actors if they can actually act (i.e. Steve McQueen). Or giant blonds (i.e. Chuck Conners). This episode shows why the railroads hired Chinese slaves who had few options in the good old USA. This episode was pretty ridiculous - it deserves to be Forsaken.

    • @eliotreader8220
