I'm heterosis - it was a tournament which explained the MMR gap but I didn't register how much lower he was (I think his decor was platinum on the start screen) until I started to play with my food halfway in
This happened in a TOURNAMENT??? what the hell xDD
@@Laezar1probably an online one, but still really funny lol
@@lolusuck386 Yeah I get that but still, like, people on ladder just losing their mind is one thing, but registering to a tournament and then pulling that shit is.... why
Why would you just randomly drop slurs in a tournament.
Why would the game be allowed to continue even if it's just a small online tournament.
Why would you be upset at someone playing efficiently in a tournament of all places.
Why would someone like that even get in a tournament.
This adds so many layers of mysteries.
@@Laezar1 Maybe he meant the in-game auto-tournament system
@@polygondwanaland8390 Yes - just those little dumb tournaments they have in the game. I don't know what they're called or the purpose of them. I also had a really bad game and a little embarassed to submit it, but I was also laughing so much in game I had to submit it
ah yes the new zerg unit, "unwilingling"
He didin't want to be a zergling, but life had other plans.
this was so funny 😂😂

My mom had one of those!
Had to laugh so hard at unwillingly that my whole bed started shaking and I woke up my wife😅
The weird league guy was also the guy from the very first episode of the Salt Mines.

sc2 ladder salt bingo card:
generic homophobic slur, generic racial slur, family death/torture, 'smurf', 'hacker', 'broken/a-move race', 'nooooob!', 'i would beat you up irl' 'get cancer'
Floating buildings away, telling the other player to leave bc they "should" have lost, pretending they went afk.
love this series, keep it up and appreciate you delaying to give good content rather than taking the easy road and spamming the same old!
People asking to "fight fair" in a strategy game really puzzle me. I understand being upset at very gambly strategy like early all ins cause it can feel like a bit of a waste of time to have games that are decided by the opening before you can get proper information and even when you win it feels like it wasn't a real game that got to properly unfold (I have this issue with super aggro decks in card games).
But when it's just like, using your tools available effectively, like having that probe not just sit there but actually cause some minor damage, or exploiting lack of detection with invisible units, it's so strange to see someone get upset at that. I don't think sun tzu was writing stuff like "always engage your ennemies frontally, warning them in advance and only attack if you think they have a chance to win that fight" but to be fair I never properly read the art of war maybe it's very different from what I thought.
Exactly. Strategy games are fun because of the strategy involved, I'd be no fun if you don't get thrown a curveball every now and then.
Chinese culture very much encourages guile and deception, and Sun Tzu was no exception.
The art of war is actually pretty short. It only takes like an hour to read. Google a translated copy and give it a go.
Chinese culture is pretty heavy on guile and deception, and Sun Tzu was no exception. He would say things like "when strong, appear weak; when weak, appear strong".
The art of war is pretty short actually. takes like an hour to read, maybe two. I encourage you to google a translated copy and read it yourself.
@@thefance4708 You might have missed some of the sarcasm there =p
09:47 There it is! Zing!! Thanks PiG. You know I love ya. I watch the pro commentary too but this, King of Canons and Flo Files are my lifeblood :D
It reminds me of 'Ciggie Butt Brain' 😂
I do miss early 2000s internet :(
The song "We didn't start the Flame War" describes it well.
54'th episode. time flys!
id love a game of florencio in the saltmines xD
He doesn't seem to get people to rage that much, actually. It must be because they're all too confused to even process his strategies.

hey pig thanks for finally getting back to salt mines, these were good. thank you i missed these. also would love to see a video of your entire setup, like the cameras you use and all that how your studio is set up. Like show us how the magic happens. that would be an awesome vid to watch and i think all your veiwers would agree.
I wish i could have a mental breakdown while playing video games but im just not unhinged enough.
Often those large MMR gaps are caused by ranked and unranked MMRs being separate. Players have two different MMRs one for ranked play and one for unranked play. However, ranked players and unranked players can be matched against one another. Despite this, the ranked MMR will be displayed in the replays. Often what ends up happening is a player will dislike a matchup, or want to play specific maps, and so will leave games right away when playing unranked in order to try to get the map or matchup they want. This causes their unranked MMR to dramatically fall, leading to these imbalanced matchups. In a sense it is a form of smurfing, though often players are not intentionally trying to smurf. This could be resolved by combining ranked and unranked MMR systems or keeping them entirely seperate, but the weird halfway solution that Blizzard has implimented can lead to these unfortunate situations.
PiG’s psychoanalysis of the raging gamer is the funniest bit.
25:00 They call that playing with your food
oh yeee time for some relaxing Salt Mines episode
Salt Mines Bingo sounds amazing!
13:12 AGREED - Bingo SC2 Salt Mines, please do it.
Ohhhh my just when my food was getting a little bland, I get to season it again because the salt mines have finally reopened! Happy! ❤
"And here's your daily dose of -Internet- Starcraft salt"
yes...bingo card... salt mine bingo card is exactly what this show needs.
Reddit thing turned out to be fake. He confessed to making it up.
I don’t watch all of your videos (don’t even play SC) but I totally remember that video with the guy that wants to start his own tournament lol 😂
OMG I remember that one with the guy who wanted to start his own league tailored exactly to his own vision of the game that lived in the confines of his head alone -- and he wanted people to pay him like $50 for the privilege. Didn't he write up like a 3-page Google doc full of rules too? And it said he could just kick ppl out & keep their money if they broke any of the myriad nebulous rules in his mind (which, I had to imagine, would've de facto amounted to ever beating him for any reason)?
Raging mindlessly bc you're tilted is one thing -- but man, that really was peak delusion. It was so premeditated and so disturbingly thorough! That was the only time I can remember thinking "wow, this is another tier beyond the usual salt; for the sake of humanity I _actually_ hope this guy is just some 13yo with delusions of grandeur and underdeveloped social skills who doesn't know any better".
i love the excuse " i have a life and don't play that much, but you're a nerd and this is all you do so you won"
We gotta use these salt for cooking!
Does Artosis not play enough Sc2 to get an exclusive salt mines video for himself ? I feel like that would be a legendary episode. ( yes i Know he plays mainly BW)
I'd love to see a salt mines bingo card 🙂
Someone's probe killed my SCV before it finished my Rax this morning so I dropped another 3rax down then marine SCV all-in'd and it felt really good
a bingo card sounds amazing
17:07 wow..... over a probe harass. that's just grim
Ive been loving the proxy marauder build, super fun
Oh I know this guy commonerror. I’ve played many risk arcade games with him. He’s a nut lol
Yayyyy love me some salt mines
The comparison between ragers and meth addicts made me laugh so hard I had to take my inhaler.
top knotch kek - ty sir
stop lying
that second game man what a character arc, went from handing grapes to a relative, then the other player and then to himself. i try to avoid playing pvp games because im bad and a sore loser and i feel like i might become like that guy, i tend to one base too much in StarCraft.
not the random tangent about the bloke with 2 shlongs 😂😂😂
28:40 I remember watching that. I think it was its own video, but after searching for a few minutes I can’t find it. It’s possible it was a chunk of a salt mines video rather than an entire dedicated video, which means it’d be buried somewhere in the 50 30 minute Salt Mines videos lol

In AoE2 I just focus on the macro and rally my pikes and skirms to the enemy base till I win. I like building farms and mills and mining camps and town centers and I dont even hotkey by production buildings.
I played against a guy who raged really hard in dm after, and then complained about having had a bad trip.
He agreed to go easy on the hard stuff, but who knows.
Some people out there are really suffering.
6:29 - Liberator was scouted
2300 MMR looks like silver 1 - gold 3
Yep, I have about 2200+ MMR and it's silver 1
Yeeesss! Sweet sweet salt!
wooooo salt mines
yes, i like finishing salt, Himalayan salt, celtic salt, kosher salt, smoked salt, no more table salt!
Salt mines bingooooooooooooooo!
I came looking for copper and I found salt.
the other possible explanation for the MMR gap is that SC2 Replays shows your ranked MMR, not unranked. So if you're smurfing on unranked you can be up against people 1000 MMR lower.
The guy on the second game did not even build a factory until around minute 9 lol and not even a medivac
he obviously needs both hands for the mouse XD
YESSSS SALT MINESSSSS
I mean, you can tell who the rager players would be, because they're playing Terran.
please, as a Terran I am constantly hearing rage from Z and P about how overpowered my units are.
I hope you adapt this series for stormgate when it releases.
Salty McSalt Salt
I've watched hundreds of pro games but this is the first time I've watched a couple...not-pros. I knew they would be different but holy shit pros are good.
If you haven't played SC2 yourself, you 100% have massive dunning-kruger. You cannot comprehend the stress of playing SC2 from the first person perspective until you try it, compared to merely spectating.
@@thefance4708 it was meant as a credit to the pros, not a diss to these players.
@@techtrek31 not a diss, an acknowledgement that the game is deceptively hard.

PiG - hope you learned your lesson, keep game old versions for a while in same hdd where saved replays for that version are..
i swear if that toss wins game1 i'ma be sad
such an unreal loss and throw....
seriously hes not even dead, he's got like 2k floating resources.. corner base and tech buildings while he can...
The reason the bronze player and gm player thing happens is blizzard treats the ladder more like a circle. If u keep going up and up and up to rank 1 gm the only thing left is the lowest mmr bronze.
I actually made an account just to c how low ur mmr can get. After getting do about 1100 mmr i faced a couple high gms. This would be a good way to really snipe and screw over the mmr of high GM Streamers. Prob wont work on low GM as they would find more games.
15:50 Maybe its just a game of bronze leagues. 1000 MMR difference is basically difference between bronze 3 and bronze 1 on EU :D Maybe the 3300 is just bronze 1 waiting for enought games to be promoted (EU Bronze 1 is up to 2972) and being matched against bronze 3 or bronze 2 (line between bronze 2 and bronze 3 is 2324)
yeah, EU bronze is fcked up :D
The white powder was not salt, it was meth
"How can you be this slow at playing the game but type awful stuff in chat instantly?"
They're a lot more practiced at typing awful stuff in chat, I'd guess
EDIT: thought about branching out to HotS salt?
Could we get a highlight reel of the ones that were too boring to make an episode out of? It would give some acknowledgment to the submitter, and a brief 30 second shame to the boring flamers.
So sad about old replays, but on the plus side SC2 being what it there is always a healthy source of salt.
Mainly because the game is so broken, that people can use flaws like probes or DTs. Especially since no one is allowed to build ravens, what's with that?
Pig can you cast sc1 mod inside sc2? And make a tournament this mod is well balanced
The second game actually shows how broken tanks are. 1 base vs 4 base and the fight was that close.
I mean they did take a horrible fight with units that are specifically countered by tank. It's like saying hellbat are broken cause you lost your maxed army of zergling attacking into two blue flame hellbat in a wall with a medivac.
Like, yeah tank are really scary and definitely a strong unit (terrans make them for a reason lol), but you can''t just look at the most favorable fights. You have to also look at the fights where a few immortals catch them unprotected in an open area and clean them up.
That’s silly. Toss had full map control but allowed that army to come across the map and siege up.
Protoss took a very suboptimal fight, it wasn't so much that tanks were good, but that Toss was distracted/complacent after realizing how far ahead he was
As I actually stated in the chat with that lunatic, my micro was horrific there - if I just a-moved, they would have evaporated
@@bthekuta Terrans are the only one race that is allowed to do shit like that lol.
To be fair, nobody plays Starcraft to get probe harassed. Would have made me leave probly.
Well to be fair, if a person is that trash and useless.... who would interact with them IRL at least this way people reply so it makes sense kinda
2 salty terrans!? No way no fair! Protoss imba!
you have no right to say this after Toss spent a year whining about mines lol.

26:00 it's still insane to me that you get demonetized for using curse words, especially since your old content with the creative words was hilarious.
You should be able to just mark the channel as mature audience only and say whatever you want, it's like we're in kindergarten.
Alas there's no decent competitor to this 'wonderful' platform so here we are.
The community is toxic because the game is incredibly frustrating.
Players spend days practicing only to lose to one misclick.
Don't blame the players, let the dead horse lie.
probe scouting is now cheating, if you probe scout you must forfeit immediately. ignore all the pro tournament games and build orders, those don't count
I think your thumbnail helps to normalize this kind of speech.
The reason it's in the thumbnail is because of how outrageous and disgusting the speech is.
It's doing the opposite normalise the language. The whole series is taking a microscope to people who talk/behave like this and ridicule them relentlessly.
