As a Heat season ticket member, I didn’t like wat Pat did to Jimmy. Yes, Riley was correct. You shouldn't trash talk if you're not playing, but he certainly didn’t need to chastise Jimmy publicly. Tell him that face to face, man to man.
When Pat signed Jimmy 5 years, he knew he wasn't Benjamin Button, and he would be signing up for the declining years of Jimmy's career. Pat likely promised he'd get him some more help, and he hasn't delivered, and neither did Bam or Herro and the rest of the team for various reasons throughout the season.
Don't blame Jimmy for being unwilling and/or unable to pick up the slack for the poor and inconsistent play and/or unavailablity of the rest of the team at an advanced age.
If Riley doesn't think they would have beat Boston with Butler, it suggest Riley built a bad team.
Or the Celtics just built a better one. I remember heat fans wanted Dame. He’s on vacation too

Jimmy is absolutely good enough to be the number one on a champ. Miami has yet to prove they can field 7 other players that can contribute in a meaningful way on offense

He's a mouthpiece for the FO, so in essence he's also PR. Every time someone on his show says something the FO doesn't want out there like "trade Bam for a real star," he shuts them down on air. In defense he let's that conversation onto the air, but he does state saying that is creating issues for him.

I believe jimmy butler has been in the league thirteen years. He has played 814 games. That means he has missed three seasons worth of games in his career.
Jimmy Butler doesn’t care about basketball. He’s too busy at country concerts, with soccer players and playing cards. Finals run last year boosted his ego, he was celebrating throughout the entire series.
If Jimmy forced his way out of this team, he's going to have a hard time. Part of why he's successful there is because it's a Unique team culture. He was ran out of Minn and Phil for a reason.

It's fascinating to see people make an argument against the evidence. With Jimmy BUTLER you have a chance to go to the finals, without him you are home after the first round. Just say you don't like them, don't argue against what we've clearly seen. It makes you lose credibility. Pat RILEY shouldn't tell a grown man and the guy responsible for him getting to the finals in a year where he had no business sniffing the finals, you shouldn't tell that guy to shut up in public! He got lucky. The issue with sports in this era with fans..and media..is none of you can discern between players having MOMENTS..and being GREAT. Jimmy had a few MOMENTS..but is nowhere near being truly great. The media hypes everything sports-related to drive viewership because it benefits both media and the NBA for the NBA to thrive..so they try to artificially manufacture ‘superstars’. He got lucky in the right situations and had a few MOMENTS. That could happen for almost ANY NBA player. Look at Brunson. If he did not get the series of events that landed him in NYK..he would not have had his MOMENT he is having. Herro had a moment. Bam is overrated because he had a moment or two. I mean ….you could put 90 percent of NBA players in the right situation and they would have moments..too. He is overrated. He got lucky. Good on him, but he is a b-level NBA player. Period.

He’s played a lot of years in the NBA and has one finals appearance where he won one game and one finals appearance that was in a practice gym. Devin Booker has done just as much and was 25 when he did it.

You have to be utter delusional to think in a power battle, Jimmy Butler wins against Pat Riley. This is not Chicago or Minnesota, small market teams that can be pushed around.
There are many reasons Jimmy Butler has bounced from so many teams. He’s vastly overrated, jumper is abysmal, 3 point shooting atrocious, has a very weak handle, and is slower than Brooke Lopez. He took a once in a lifetime playoff run and is riding it to the end.
Pat Riley knows elite playmakers and Jimmy Butler is not one.
