  • We all remember OG’s incredible TI win last year.
From the anime-grade betrayal that was Fly and s4’s departure, to OG’s insane run from a last place ranking to the Aegis, OG’s story was the stuff of dreams are made of.
But the thing that made it all that much more incredible was their twenty-year-old rookie midlaner. Not only was he picked up just three months before TI, Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen had virtually zero LAN experience before setting foot on the biggest stage in Dota.
Thanks to one tournament, this quiet and unassuming Finn went from streaming in his bedroom to shaking hands with the President.

The way he plays dota is indeed unusual, how he can adjust to any situation, topson is a game changer in dota pro scene, not just topson, the whole og team is breaking the meta and drafting and became the most overpowered team in history of ti.

Topson is great, but from the rapport, sumail is one of the best or probably the best midlaner.
Fortunately, dota is a 5v5 game, just because sumail might be stronger midlaner, doesn't mean it will win games.

Topson's flashy plays with Invoker against EG and Monkey King against LGD was widely praised. His failures with Invoker against LGD and Zeus against EG was criticized. But for me, there are two well defined plays that Topson made which can be called the best plays of TI8 that went under the radar.
    1) The insane defense of the ancient and subsequent gg push against LGD in the upper bracket finals with Arc warden. Essentially pulling off a 2v5 defense with Spectre and later on a 2v5 offense with Earthshaker.
    2) His actions during the now famous moment when Ceb made his Axe call on Grand Finals game 4. Blinking in and hexing Ame forced fy to use his snowball save which left Ana free to kill somnus. And when the snowball was rolling, he cast icewall in the perfect position with max quas before dying so that all LGD heroes were literally unable to move, setting up their positioning for the big call from Axe
