For one strange reason my footage got corrupted. So it shows the same frame from around the 3 hour 48 minute mark. But the test completed, and the scores are in. We are just missing out on part of the show this time. Sorry for that.

iOS 17.5.1 Build : 21F90 was released May 20, 2024
The devices were updated using build 21F79 which is also the final release. So the devices have had 4 days for the update to settle in.
Before the test was run the devices were set to 25% display brightness, auto brightness has been disabled, all devices use same settings, and are connected to the same access point.
How Geekbench works :
Geekbench 4 battery scores measure the battery life of a device when running processor-intensive applications. It provides a consistent workload to the device, and generates a Geekbench score by evaluating the amount of work that it is able to do while the battery is discharging and the amount of time it takes for the battery to discharge.
The battery benchmark can be run in Full Discharge mode, from 100% to 0% battery level, to provide a high level of confidence in a device's battery performance. The battery benchmark can also be run in Partial Discharge mode, for 3 hours. If the battery benchmark is stopped after 10 minutes, by the user or by the battery reaching 0%, then the result will be saved and can be uploaded. Battery benchmark scores gathered by any method except the Full Discharge mode provide a medium level of confidence in a device's battery performance, and longer tests are more reliable.
When comparing scores, remember that higher scores are better, and double the score indicates double the performance.

I am using an iPhone14Plus with the same A15 chip as the iPhone13, and the battery life is clearly better on 17.5.1 than on 17.5.

yes, but i think you should use your PC to upgrade to 17. i have two 14 pro max. the first one was updated to 17.5.1 via ota (it’s so laggy and the battery life is terrible), but the second one i updated using itunes on my mac (it seems to be more stable, the battery is more solid, and some bugs from the previous version have been fixed)

Not on every version.. too much wear on the devices, and if you worry about battery you should not use a beta beta version?. Also if there is a 17.6 it takes time updating and downgrading back and forth between versions..

Лучшее время для XS MAX это ios 16.0, а теперь вообще из списка убрали. Придется оставаться на ios 16.7 потому что улучшений уже не будет. Жаль что apple искуственно убивает свои смартфоны.
