    not sure if you noticed how she was sitting at the start of the song.... Itr was same position as when she finished headbanger after hitting the gong in the Legend 1997 concert..... So she was sixteen when she sang this.....This girl i a generational talent....Babymetal has made my life better

    I barely can make it through that performance without tears (damn onion cutting ninjas 😂). This is, in my opinion, Su’s most emotionally delivery (some might argue NRNR from the Legend S show is better or at the same level). Unfortunately, it was only ever performed one at the Legend 1997 show :(
    Either way, fantastic song and incredible performance. The way Su can express the emotions of the song is unreal (and even more impressive considering she was 16 at the time). Thanks for reacting to both versions back to back, great stuff! 🤘🔥🦊

    In that last view of Su's face you can see her make up running where tears were running down her cheek and you can hear the tremble in her voice. Beautiful performance and at such a young age. She has been singing at this time for many years for as young as she is. Great and emotional performance. One of my favorite performers!

    It should be noted that Su performed this song right after HeadBanger. She bangs the gong and goes down. When the lights go up she sits up and just belts out the song. You would expect her to be out of breath and in stress but she pulls this off with a stunning solo.

    I'm not sure if i understood your reasons and why is cheating to react to a subtitle version, just to be clear I always recommend only two songs with subtitles but that's only to prevent copyright blocked reasons, not because the subtitles are the main focus, is always good to experience the song without subtitles.
    Anyway, SuMetal said she knew she was delivering the emotion and feelings on this song after watching someone in the crowd crying, she's very committed to deliver the song the way is intended to be. After this song at Legend 1997 they performed Babymetal Death, i think you already saw that one, what a rollercoaster show huh?
    Btw i forgot to mention in your previous Akatsuki reaction that this song got another homage to an X Japan song called "Kurenai", when you get to that song live version you'll hear the beginning and why is that.🦊🤘

    • @gothorn2758
      @gothorn2758 Před rokem

      Yes but not really, because on their Japanese released CD track list this song labeled as Unfinished ver. My guess it's just their fancy way to call acoustic version of a song 😁. Or maybe this song was written on piano on their early form. I know a lot of badass rock/metal songs that first written on acoustic guitar 😁✌️.

    • @johnschultz7765

    • @includenull
      @includenull Před rokem

      @@johnschultz7765 I disagree with that being the reason. This isn't the only "unfinished" version of a BABYMETAL song. The One unfinished versions for example all start off acoustic and do not have omitted lines.
      Shorter versions or with lines omitted they refer to as "abridged" versions.

    A Su-metal classic.
    'Akatuski' was her first solo song with BABYMETAL.
    It was released with the 'Megitsune' single in June of 2013.
    I think it's interesting she omits the final two lines of the song in this "Unfinished" version:
    "Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!".
    Su had performed the heavier version several times before this, and many times afterwards, but this is the only time the "Unfinished" version was ever performed.
    This December 21st, 2013 'Legend 1997' concert celebrating her birth (in 1997), was held the day after her 16th birthday.

    And nice one, thanks!
    This performance is almost unreal. The way Su-metal is able to convey the emotions flowing from the lyrics is absolutely amazing. Very poetic and beautiful lyrics by the way. She puts everything into her performance, she's so intense, all passion. To the point she breaks me every time with this one and also with "No rain no rainbow". And I don't know why, but despite having listened to it a million times it's always too much for me. And my guess is that it was too much for her as well given how her makeup ended up on the next song, "BABYMETAL Death", which you have already watched.
    By the way, apart from being an acoustic version, it's called "unfinished" because it misses the last line: "Akaku somare! Makka ni somare!" (Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!).
    Until next time!

    I'll react to this version of Akatsuki because it's my favourite. It doesn't have the dueling guitar solos or pyro of Budokan, which are awesome, but it is far more emotional and I think better suited to the lyrics. FYI all of Babymetal's lyrics in English can be found on du-metal's blog along with some analysis of cultural references and some interesting discussion; it's a fairly deep part of the Foxhole.
    Akatsuki is translated as "Crimson Moon" and there are lots of red imagery and references to love and keeping it's memory alive even when lover's are separated. The connection of separated lovers is described by the "crimson thread" which is a psychological link between them over time and space. The whole performance from Su's delivery, to the staging and back to the song writing shows how well Babymetal can manipulate your emotions. I defy anyone not to have a moist eye or a lump in their throat after listening to Su sing "Unfinished Akatsuki" and remember she's only 16 and to be able to emote so convincingly standing on a plinth in front of thousands of people is amazing. I think of it as a pair with "Amore" which is a slightly more optimistic song about the power of love.
    The genius of this performance is that it follows the manic energy of "Headbanger" and leads into the final sacrifice of Su in the theatrical auto da fe of "Babymetal DEATH". It's a really great show.

    Great & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I teared up when I listened to this song for the first time and still do. I had never imagined that I would be taught by a 16-year-old girl (as of Dec. 2013) a sorrow or heartbreaking emotion which is occasionally incidental to love or loss of it. Our souls are cleansed or purified by Su's voice. I witnessed Akatsuki performed live on Feb.19 at Budokan last year with Su's matured rich voice. It was partially unfinished version. I can't explain how beautiful it was with my vocabulary.

    Maybe I should have waited for this one before commenting on the other! Really glad you were recommended this as the 2nd version as it is, in my opinion, the most beautiful performance BM have ever done. Also glad it had the subtitles so you could see what I meant in my other comment. Note that this (unfinished) version's lyrics are slightly clipped compared to the full version you watched in the Budokan performance, and while it contains most of the meaning it may still be worth a look at the translation of the full version.
    Stay Metal Joel!

    Nice video again!
    Just to remind you, this performance goes right into 'BABYMETAL Death' (which you already did a reaction to) which is a perfect contrast an outro to a concert imo (also with Headbanger right before this, it's actually called 'the trilogy of death' and there is also 'the trilogy of light' which consist of 'Starlight', 'Shine' and 'Arkadia'. Definately worth checking out as well 👍)

    This is a good one! The perfect song to sing whenever you're about to be crucified by your friends, I always say.
    You're making good progress, and will soon be halfway through the Babymetal discography. Seem like you've done 2 of the 4 Su solos, with _Amore_ and _No Rain, No Rainbow_ still to go. But I don't think you've done any Black Babymetal yet, right? That's what we call Moa and Yui when they perform without Su. They also have (had) four songs; _Onedari Daisakusen, 4 No Uta, GJ_ and _Sis Anger._ Those are both some of the cutest and hardest Babymetal songs, and always a joy to listen to. Maybe give _Sis Anger_ a try next:

    Lots of metal singers have got range and power (Tarja or Floor), but Su's one of the few singers I know that can be that expressive of emotions in her singing. From her facial expressions, the pained smile, to how she's singing with slight hesitation like she's choked up with emotion.... She's not just a vocalist.... That's one of the many reasons I like her, she doesn't just sing a song, she performs it... From facial expressions, to her own interpretive dance moves, its a whole package.... If a western pop singer sings a sad ballad, they might just lower their eyes a bit, a slight frown... When Su does it (like in Akatsuki Unfinished or No Rain No Rainbow), you can hear the cracking of her voice, the slight choking back a sob, the sad tearful expression... Better than some hollywood actresses. 🤘🦊🤘

    Nice reaction again. I knew you were into it when you said nothing. Su can do that to you. She really draws you into this performance. I would love to see either version live. See here you can clearly see how Babymetal can play the same song. And yet it's completely different. Sometimes it's just a little change. Others times. Watch that first step. It's a dozey. And yet no matter which way Su performs a song. I still love it. Su at 16 is amazing. I can't wait to see her perform at 25. I wonder if they did any power ballads for the new album. Hmm a power duet ballad with Su and Moa would be really cool. Amore for more drums and fire bass playing. Then Su's final solo. No Rain No Rainbow I like the legend S performance because of how good the production is for it. She did the song again for the 10 years of Babymetal shows. She has never done No Rain No Rainbow outside of Japan. Some day I'm going to have to find a way to go there and see the legendary Babymetal. Enjoy the ride down the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.
