Dhruv rathee is the biggest hypocrite. He trashed Animal for being violent and misogynistic, but he himself has promoted many violent and misogynistic movies through his channel. Lipstick under burka normalizing honey trapping and cheating. Lust stories 2 had women creeping at other man. Those films do not get this much critism that animal got. Infact those films are celebrated as feminist films so I think those films arr problematic than animal. People might not go to watch those films but that doesn't mean people won't watch it in ott, why they don't go to such films and go to films like Animal is bcuz Animal is big and much enterintaining. If u disagree with "films can only change hairstyle not society" statement then how can u say profanity doesn't effect society negatively, there was a old guy in my village, when he sees young girls he'll talk to them in vulgur way and when we ask why do u talk like that he'll say it's a colokial style as a justification. If so the shoe licking scene can also be taken as colokial style because ranbir doesn't make her literally lick the shoe. Its a story of a man so driven by the validation from his father, he goes beyond his moral transcendence and loses all sight of right and wrong. In the second half we see his transformation from a typical bollywood hero to a full blown Animal, almost as crazy as the villian itself. Didnt get bored even for a minute through 3 hr runtime. I watched the film like a character study and i loved it

If you notice, Vanga’s female characters are also flawed and strong. Rashmika adding extra salt in Ranvijay’s food, slapping him multiple times, screaming at him and leaving him at end. Bobby Deol’s wives smoking (which is not common in commercial cinema) and making fun of her husband’s disability and one admitting she is a gold digger

Well I personally don't even understand the point of so much controversies surrounding a single movie. Movie dekho, enjoy karo ghar jao that's my formula but now that when it's happening, I'd like to put my two cents too. Well, many of the critics who have criticised Animal movie so much have openly called for banning that film while movies like Thank You For Coming, Four More Shots Please and many others have received rave reviews from these critics only which is so wrong because they show and advocate pseudo-feminism openly. I didn't see any female critic appreciating the movie for its incredible screenplay, range of acting performances, the awesome music, effective use of background score etc etc. Rather, they're busy in naming and publicly shaming this movie and its director Sandeep Vanga. It feels sad to see this hypocrisy. Movies are the reflections of the society and nothing else. As an English Literature Hons student, who's reading so many different kinds of dramas, one drama which stands out is William Shakespeare's Hamlet wherein Hamlet the prince is said to have treated Ophelia like his prized possession and lot of people have criticised Shakespeare for that but why did Shakespeare, who's such a genius playwright, actually wrote that scene???? Only because it was happening in real life medieval 15th century Europe. If we see clearly, the whole character trait of Ranvijay has been shown and written in a way to portray that NEVER BECOME SOMEONE LIKE HIM. Ranvijay is a cheater, he's a psychopath and a violent man and all that Vanga has shown is to portray to us that he's a bad figure. People in India unfortunately are too naive to understand that a movie with two negative characters can also be written. Some are saying, Ranvijay didn't suffer enough. Why??? Only because he didn't die. Well don't you think his wife and his kids leaving him is what makes him suffer far more than him actually dying???? He could've died a hero's death but he's shown to be suffering through his life coz his loved ones have forsaken him. One other important thing to note is that, what Rashmika's character did with her real fiancee. If what Ranvijay has done is wrong then why aren't they criticising Rashmika's character for leaving and cheating on her fiancee like that???? Isn't that also wrong?? Lastly, I'd just like to say, just because some misogynistic men exist in our society, it shouldn't happen that movies should not be made. That will be outright undemocratic. If movies like Thank You For Coming can release then so can a movie like Animal who's craft is actually far more formidable than the former one. Movies show our society and there's no need to create any controversies around it. If you become a gangster by seeing a Tarantino film then the problem is in YOUR mentality and NOT Tarantino who's made the film!!

Hi! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Totally agreed, in a democracy there should be freedom to be able to make any kind of art. The film does reflect the current environment of our society. I believe while Rannvijay’s character got what he deserved in the end, his glorification may have overshadowed it. Rashmika’s character was problematic as well, critics should point out that as well when they do a review. Four More Shots Please and Thank You for Coming are equally misleading, and should be viewed carefully.

Arjun reddy was criticized constructively in telugu belt! And towards the end preethi had confronted arjun for his rude behaviour during the entire slap wala episode! Arjun was confronted for his arrogance by preethi and was criticised for his anger and impatience by his friend shiva!! And dumb reviewers like you just formed half opinions on that slap wala scene and didn't even care to watch the entire film! Secondly ranvijay from animal had colloquially asked zoya to lick his shoe in response to her words "mai aapse boht pyaar karti hu, mai aapke liye kuch bhi kar sakti hu" . He did not say that thing literally he had said that colloquially in a same manner as the abusive words were used in "MIRZAPUR".
And most importantly sandeep reddy vanga doesn't endorse or promote rape rather he is strongly against it, that is why in all 3 of his films there are scenes where molestors are getting brutally beaten. Like in arjun reddy/kabir singh:- the lead character beats the shit out of his lover's molestor and in animal:- the lead character hits the molestors with his car, so you just cannot equate ranvijay's character with that of the barbaric rapists of nirbhaya

Hi! Thank you for your thoughts on the video. I have merely stated the difference in the comments by the two individuals with regards to the elements in the film. I never mentioned Sandeep endorses rape culture, I provided a reference to the barbaric rapists as a symbol of men with a backward mindset. You could see Mukesh Singh's(Nirbhaya's perpetrator) interview to know what I intended to convey and it would not be right to deny that there are still men with a regressive thinking in our society. Also, because the female characters are toxic does not make it just for men to be the same, either behaviors should be condemned and I have mentioned this further in the video as well.
I believe we should adhere to healthy debates without being emotional, for a constructive mindset. We could agree to disagree without having the need to blurt out insults.

    • @sk-nu2ol
      @sk-nu2ol Před 4 měsíci +2

@@ReelRealReflect the point I want to make is, both the things:- the abuses in mirzapur and ranvijay telling zoya to lick his shoe were colloquial,
and secondly, ranvijay was not as regressive as those rapists of nirbhaya ji, a man just preaching other men around him to embrace their manhood(which ranvijay did) is not being regressive and neither does that thing promote rape!
Rapists are regressive but those alpha males who embrace their manhood and protect their loved ones around them are not regressive,
The fact that one is embracing manhood cannot be appropriated as a reason for the rapist mentality! Rather it will be the same alpha males who would punish the rapists badly.
So, neither ranvijay's preachings be considered as regressive and nor can that mindset of him be equated to those of regressive rapists

There's a difference btw showing flawed characters and then outright glorifying them
Wows is pretty similar to animal imo
(altho it was more like a dark comedy none of which was menat to be taken seriously)
Still It was deservedly bashed by certain critics when it was released
How is The boys is worse than animal😅😅usme no one is glorified or justified
Each character gets what it deserves
Billy butcher treats everyone like shit and that makes him anti hero, no one is singing arjan velli for him in the bg😅
In fact at the end of last season he doesn't have much time to live bcz of his bad decisions
While ranvijay in animal gets one" heart transplant" and get healed like a super human😅

@@siddharthverma8975 it was not glorified. No where does the movie tell you to imitate Ranvijay’s actions. He is called mentally unstable and a criminal throughout the film. And movies are not created to tell you what to do. The music reflects mood of the characters. For example the Sikh brothers were supporting Ranvijay during a fight, so would they play Bhaajan or would they sing Arjun vaily? The music reflects mood of the character. If Ranvijay is feeling courageous and brave, the background music can reflect it since we are seeing it from his point of view. In WOWS there were party music and celebratory music throughout, it doesn’t mean it’s glorification it’s showing the point of view of those characters. The office in WOWS had a party like atmosphere, hence party songs will be played instead of sad music. Similarly Ranvijay’s fight was supported by his cousins, so celebratory music like Arjun Vaily will be played since it’s literally being CELEBRATED by side characters! Look at the context and atmosphere, no one’s telling you to imitate the behavior. Even the disclaimer says so!

@@siddharthverma8975 if Ranvijay enters a party and starts jamming while smoking a cigarette and looking cool, no one’s telling you to imitate that! Ranvijay thinks it’s cool, so he acts cool because we are seeing the story from his perspective. If Ranvijay is celebrating his deeds, celebratory music will be played since we are seeing from his point of view! It’s up to you as a viewer with your moral compass whether you support his actions or not. I hope I have made my point clear.

@@siddharthverma8975 ranvijay jab asrar ke logo ko maar raha thaa to arjan vailly islie bajaya jaa raha thaa kyoki wo actually mei akela lad raha thaa warriors ke jaise, aur usne koi innocent aadmi ko nahi maara thaa, usne jitno ko maara thaa wo sab ke sab usko aur uski family ko maarne aaye the! To jab wo criminals ka murder kar raha thaa to usme background mei arjan vailly bajana sahi thaa aur uss aadmi ko glorify karna sahi thaa!! Samjha! Aur ranvijay ki puri movie mei ek hi galti thi ki usne apni biwi pe cheat kiya, aur usko end mei uski biwi chhod ke chali jaati hai, to end mei ranvijay ko wahi mila jo wo deserve karta hai!!

Agreed. If there are elements that are wrong irrespective of the gender then they should be pointed out. I have mentioned Thank You for Coming in the video, I don’t think it is right either.

This is false equivalency to put "psuedofeminism" and patriarchy at the same line😂 this is childish level of seeing the world.
Patriarchy has no gender and its structural
It is not an interpersonal mean behaviour kind of thing
But "psuedofeminism" is not structural discrimination against amab people (assigned male at birth)
Discrimination is only discrimination if its structural not in an interpersonal thing
If the interpersonal behaviour treatment coincides with the group that are structurally discriminate against then the interpersonal mean behaviour is also discrimination (castiem, racism, sexim, queerphobhia, etc)

So your point is that "only men can be discriminatory towards women, only white people can be discriminatory towards black people and not vice versa" right? You are a pseudo feminist. You must be a woke woman.
"You can't be accept men being victims bcuz you want all the privileges of being the victims for yourself. And by yourself I mean the so called opressesed communities). You want it all for yourself so that you guys can always be the permanent victims for all generanations. That won't happen as long as right wingers are alive. The most practical way to stop discrimination is by not giving reservations based on caste, gender, religion, sexuality or race etc.
