    The significant feature for me, which many reviewers have largely overlooked, is the double-tap to scroll through pages during a workout. Using a touch screen with gloves or sweaty hands is impossible, and I’m not a fan of the scroll wheel. Previously, the double-tap enabled scroll was only possible when paused, but with the most recent version, it works while moving.

    Very interesting updates, particularly with the mapping. It’s much harder with garmin to sync stuff to the watch, and that’s one of the reasons I might switch. In the end I suppose it is really just down to personal preferences, and budget, when it comes to choosing your next sports watch. Good question, I should have mentioned that. I don't understand it either. HRV is arguably one of the best metrics for keeping tabs on your wellness... Apple even collects HRV in the background but for whatever reason decided not to use it here. I suspect because it's a more "advanced" metric and they're trying to make the vitals app appeal to the masses and not super health nerds like us lol.

    Does look cool though, not gonna lie. Especially the modular ultra bezel with the 2 metrics.

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  Před měsícem +2

      I wouldn't say they killed those apps. Athlytic is more of a Whoop competitor providing insight into your sleep and recovery. The Vitals App just displays the metrics your Apple Watch was already collecting and provides indication if anything looks off but doesn't give you a "recovery score" or any insight on how training is affecting your sleep/health.

  • @weekendwarrior8179
    @weekendwarrior8179 Před měsícem

    I'd rather have a readiness score than a training load. I don't need a metric tell me that I'm above or below what I usually do

    • @ChaseTheSummit
      @ChaseTheSummit  Před měsícem

      Two different things. Training readiness is tracking how ready you are to take on more training judging by sleep, recovery, HRV, Stress. along with your training load. Training Load and Training Status are only considering your activities and ignoring the other factors. They're both useful in different scenarios but I would like to see a "training readiness" competitor on Apple WatchOS natively.

    • @ChaseTheSummit

      Basically whatever feature the watch supports will be displayed. For example, new Ultra 2's don't support SPO2 since Apple was sued over it last year and ultimately removed from new devices. In that case, SPO2 simply won't be displayed and there will be no icon for it at all. Same goes for wrist temperature, if the device doesn't support it it simply won't exist within the vitals app.

    The battery... well the battery life is still disgustingly bad,to be polite. I can't understand the hype about this watch. Garmin beats it by millions!!!

      2 devices, meant for 2 different things. For instance, try making a phone call on a Garmin. Oh, you can’t? Or try text with a Garmin. Still can’t? Apple Watch has a MUCH faster processor for these tasks. If a Garmin could do the same thing, it would have piss poor battery life too
