I've watched a lot of Chaplin movies.
Every time, I was deeply moved.
Among them, "The Dictator", "The Gold Rush", "Kid", and "Modern Times" are very wonderful foods for my heart, and I still look back on CZcams many times.
I think the good thing about Chaplin movies is that there is love in the fun, there is melancholy, and the truth and justice are sung in high spirits.

it's both, a tragicomedy, he wants to make tragedy look funny. the way he tries to win her heart immitating rich guy looks funny but the fact he doesn't realise it breaks the heart, and you can't but smile when he wants the car run over him
