Their hair colors change so often it's sometimes easier to learn them by their voices. Youve already noted they have distinctive voices so once you recognize the voices you can tell who's who. The 3 rappers are Namjoon aka RM, their leader who you often pick out in the videos - baritone, switches fluently between Korean and English, intricate rapper; Yoongi aka Suga aka Agust D (his alter ego when doing solo work) - raspy voice, insanely hard hitting raps and one of the fastest rappers in the industry. Award winning producer for BTS as well as other bands. Hoseok aka Hobi aka J-Hope - his rapping is more musical and flowy rather than Suga's machinegun fire. His voice is raspy like Suga but has a slightly more nasal quality. He's also their dance captain / dance leader and he was a street dancer before BTS. In the vocal line you have Seokjin aka Jin, who is a tenor but he can also pull off falsetto and the strong belting style of singing; Taehyung aka V - is a baritone so although he has a wide range and can also do falsettos, he's esp. good in the lower registers and has a voice suited to R&B and jazz, which he loves. Jimin is a counter tenor, with a very high, delicate voice and you've pointed out some of his high notes in Kinetic Manifesto. Like JHope he's one of their main dancers, since he had a contemporary dance background before BTS. Finally, Jungkook aka JK, the youngest- he's the clear tenor with perfect pitch and their main singer. He's the one who had the solo in On:Kinetic Manifesto and often does the adlibs and vocal runs.

Yes. Yes. They change their hair color and hair style and hair cut all the time. You have to learn their faces. Please watch the documentary explaining who these guys are. And how they started. You will appreciate every video so much more. "Butter" was their 2nd all English video. "Dynamite" was first. "Permission to Dance". All light hearted and fun. They wrote them for the world coming out of the worst part of the pandemic. Most other songs have more depth. But Enjoy! The documentary. "The Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7"

@@ajruther67James Cordon’s Carpool Karaoke is fun and you can see their faces clearly but he won’t learn much about them from that so he definitely needs to watch Taylor’s Guide to the Bangtan 7. Behind the scenes videos are good for finding out more about their personalities as is Run BTS.
You need to watch their Grammy performance of Butter. Despite two of them just recovering from Covid (JK and J-Hope) and Jin being bandaged up after the operation he had to repair the ligaments in his hand they killed it. As usual you’ll see how they adapted their performance to keep Jin safe. Watch the behind the scenes for it too as they had to cope without dance captain, J-Hope until the day before the performance when he tested negative at last.

I believe the high voice you heard was Jimin. If you watch the Jimmy Fallon Butter on the bridge, I think you can tell better who's singing it. Great reaction. I was surprised this was your favorite so far. It is a bop.

I don't know what kind of music you like, but here are some suggestions: jimin, serendipity live, V Stigma live, Jhope, More, the Astronaut live by Jin, Joke by RM, August d by August D(Suga), Believer by Jungkook. Also House of cards and the Truth Untold by the vocal line. I am 61 years old and I absolutely live these young men. So much talent and versatility.
I am an Army for one year now and I watch the videos daily. Hopefully one day I can see them live. Your Song suggestions are great. My first song I fall in love with was The truth untold.
Can potentially enjoy any mood/genre (language included). I listen to a very wide variety of music and will happily note these recommends down.

I'm a 54 year old ARMY !!! ❤ I've been listening to BTS since 2016 and I love them. They don't have a bad song. I also listen to Heavy Metal and I have 5 concerts lined up this year...Beartooth, Sleep Token, Kim Dracula, Crown the Empire and Pierce the Veil (more Alt). Last year I saw Escape the Fate, Ice Nine Kills and kpop groups Wei, SF9, and Bang Yongguk from BAP. I also listen to Dimash who sings pop opera ??? and several Jrock bands like Coldrain and One ok Rock. Just to show that your taste in music doesn't change to elevator music when you get older. LOL. I used to go to more concerts but I moved to a state that no one seems to come to. I listen to ALOT of kpop groups too so I have lots of suggestions if you need any ! I can't wait for more reactions !!!!

JK is the background you're hearing. He does most of the backup tracks on their song's. Oldest to youngest is: Jin(vocalist), Suga( rapper), JHOPE (rapper), RM(BTS leader, Rapper), Jimin( singer), V( singer), JK( singer). Now you should watch the Grammy performance of Butter. Totally worth it.

You spotted the unique voices! One of the coolest things about them is all 7 have developed their own unique vocal colors and musical styles (they have solo work too!) but they still blend very well. They celebrate each person's unique voice.

Oh! And the ad libs and harmonies are most often Jungkook but all 4 vocalists can sing the high notes and at some points do. They often hand off within a song.
Because you asked .. they have official positions (it's a kpop thing) but they're not super relevant anymore, as far as who is main vs lead vs sub dancer or vocal or rapper.
There are three rappers (RM, Suga, J-Hope) and four singers (Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook). All seven can and do sing, the rappers just sing less and usually not as high. At some point all seven rap, too, sometimes to hilarious effect 🤣
The official main dancers are J-Hope and Jimin, both of whom had dance backgrounds before joining. Jungkook and V are both officially in the dance line as well. Obviously all seven of them can dance 🤣
In order, here's my short description of each of them:
RM: the leader, one of the writers of most of their songs, a brilliant lyricist who isn't afraid to change languages for a rhyme. A man with a huge heart and social conscience on top of his talent and dedication. We call him our president sometimes. His UN speech is worth listening to.
Jin: the oldest, a singer with an incredibly powerful belt and a voice that lends itself to power ballads beautifully. He has a goofy sense of humor and is quick witted. He tends to look after the others quite a bit, which is expected of the oldest in Korean culture. He's also very handsome and does not appear to age. Our worldwide handsome. 😁
Suga: a rapper who started out writing and producing songs. He produces a lot of their work and has a significant body of solo work as well. He writes really raw emotional lyrics. Used to have a reputation for being cold and distant (which he wasn't), but lately we've gotten to see his softer side. He feels a lot of responsibility toward younger artists in the industry.
J-Hope: the dance leader, a brilliant dancer who is ridiculous and silly right up until he's focusing on dance when he's very serious. He's not just an amazing dancer, he's also amazing at encouraging others. Oh, plus he's a rapper and a singer who embraces his name and tries to bring us all hope. He's our sunshine.
Jimin: sweet, sincere, another brilliant dancer. He's got a background in contemporary dance and has developed a dance style that's unique to him. He's also got a vocal timbre that's unique to him. He's playful and caring and kind (unless you're Suga, they bicker lovingly like an old married couple). I love his voice. And the rest of him.
V: a sultry voiced baritone who loves jazz standards and always knows where his camera is, king of facial expressions... he's another great dancer. He's a quirky guy who makes friends easily and takes things deeply to heart.
Jungkook: the main vocal and original center as well as the youngest. Jungkook grew up in BTS and credits the older members for raising him well. He's one of the best singers, not just in Korea, but in the world. For real, this is not just because I'm a fan, he's very very VERY good. As a dancer he tends to go hard - he dances like he's fighting. He's been enjoying doing sexier, more mature work lately but he still has the most adorable bunny grin. I find his excitement over trying new things irresistible.
That's the tiniest taste of who they are and what they do. For a lot of us, it started with the music, but then we learned about them as people, and found seven really lovely men doing their best. They love each other, they love us, and they pour themselves into their performances.
If you just want to see why we love them so much - they have a lot of songs written for us, for ARMY. 2!3!, Magic Shop, Zero O'Clock, Mikrokosmos... All songs meant to comfort and celebrate us. There are so so many, those are just a few favorites. They've given us so many songs that are really, honestly just for us. Jimin even hid a track on his solo album for us.
It's all impossibly wholesome, but it's really real. 💜

J-hope - rapper + dance leader, he picks up choreography the fastest, so he is often in charge of making sure the other members can do the dances perfectly

You probably liked this more since it’s all in English, which there was one reactor who after 1st hearing Dynamite which is the 1st all English song, he listened to Daechwita and said he liked it, BUT he wishes it was all in English, yea, NO BTS is from South Korea, they only have 3 songs all in English which were all written during the pandemic to help ppl cope, they mostly sing Korean/English which is why I fell in love with them, the language is beautiful, but what’s great is that they are able to make their lyrics kind of rhyme in places since some of their Korean words sound similar to English words, it really gives them a lot more creative writing I think, you really need to watch Taylor’s guide before getting to much further into their music it will help answer a lot of your questions, and yes each member has a unique voice which is why all 7 are important, each plays a different roll, you have commented on how chill and cool they seem, wait to you see Taylor’s guide which breaks down each member, it’s why I think they are so much more than just a Kpop group, all 7 love and respect each other very much, don’t know how much you know about Kpop in general, but all 7 of these members came from different cities within in South Korea Rm is from Ilsan, Jin is from Gwacheon, Suga and V are from Daegu, J-hope is from Gwangju and Jimin and Jungkook are from Busan ( it’s crazy cause each province has a different dialect then Seoul, they call it Satoori so they had to learn to use Seoul dialect ) anyway they all moved to Seoul in their teens, Jungkook the youngest was only 13 when he moved by himself to Seoul, they all trained most about 2 yrs before being chosen as final members of BTS, they did not go home for years, as Jungkook has said, the other 6 members raised him, not his parents, they have spent more time with each other than they have their own families, so they are all truly a family, brothers not by blood, but true brothers for real, their story is an amazing one, and why we are so invested in them and protective. BTS and Army are like a family, it’s crazy how much they love their fans which Sugar has said and they all agree, we are not Artists and fans but more like partners. How many Artist do you know who says that about their fans?!
Also you mentioned about background vocals, Jungkook is the main singer and does almost all the ad libs and harmonies, backing vocals, but they all do their own backing tracks as well, spoke ppl criticized them saying that they lip sync- NO they do not ever lip sync or use a lot of auto tune, Suga and V both have purposely stopped singing in parts b4 to prove they don’t lip sync, but again they do use backing tracks, you can tell when it’s them vs the backing track

You definitely like Kim Namjoon. You've pointed his part out in all 3 reactions. He is the leader of the group although he is middle by age. He is incredibly intelligent. He's an amazing poet, his lyrics are incredible. He loves visual art as well and frequently goes to museums on his off time. Namjoon has some amazing solo songs as well you should check out. He is currently in the army (as are all the rest of them). Thanks for the reactions!

And this is a video of how they practiced for their performance at the Grammys. They were in a rather difficult situation at this time. Jin had to undergo surgery because of his finger injury, and J-Hope and Jungkook had COVID19 and joined the practice belatedly. But overcoming the whole situation, they did it!

@TEEJ-9 the visuals are incredible. The MV was amazing but their performances are fantastic.
Oh! Speaking of, I 100% recommend any of their performances from Asian awards shows. The scale of those performances blows anything from American award shows out of the water, I think they have a much higher budget and the headlining acts tend to do a full set lasting about 30 minutes. I think 2019 was a highlight year... I think the MAMAs is the big one.
I really like watching those awards shows so I can be introduced to new artists and grow my playlists, and maybe it's just because I don't speak enough korean to understand them but the hosts don't annoy me the way English speaking awards hosts do 😂

If you're leaning more towards rap, I highly suggest listening to Daeng. It's just the rap line: Namjoon (RM), Yoongi (Suga), and Hobi (J-Hope).
Also DKDKTV did an in depth explanation of the cultural significance in the lyrics of the song.

BTS is a 7 member group and they have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. The guy you really liked his rap in Mic Drop is RM, the one in a green shirt rapping in this song Butter is Sugar and J-Hope is the one who eats the butter hahaha

They all take turns doing high notes, especially the ones with higher tones like Jimin and JK. Jin can go really low and really high so does V 💜

Rap: Suga and RM. Chorus: V and Jin and Jungkook. And finally J hope (the little smirk guy hahahaa)and RM and finally Jungkook (I like his raspy voice there).

The hand kiss move = Jungkook, the first singer and the one that "gave you chills" in ON, has the fandom name, ARMY, tattooed across his hand where he is kissing. The others replicate the move with the same message. They are kissing/sending love to ARMY.

Yes.
First, there is actually a large amount of time between those MVs. ON was filmed in summer 2019 and Butter was filmed in early 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, and released as a pick me up for ARMY and the world. Even if they didn't do anything at all to their hair in that time period, it would have completely grown out of the colors they had.
Second, you cannot identify them by their hair. Don't try. They play with color and style a lot. You will have to learn their faces and voices. Don't worry, you'll get there. Then you will wonder how you ever could not tell them apart.
When RM says "Got ARMY right behind us when we say so" Notice they are using their bodies to spell ARMY, and RM is in the middle between the R & M.
Who does the highs?
ALL OF THE VOCALISTS. All four vocalists can and do hit those highs regularly and all are amazing vocalists. Jungkook, the main vocalist of BTS with the vibrant blue hair in this MV, does do a lot of the ad libs, but the others also do backgrounds, ad libs and solos. They are all amazing.

Just dropping by to say I love your reactions. I am not an avid reaction viewer, if at all its from professionals for breakdown and stuff. But I loved your demeanour and the genuineness you display. With a very very VERY large discography, BTS will pull you in. Spanning across genres and topics discussed, there is something for everyone and every mood. Add to that their charism, goofyness, chaos, love and all the goodness one can't help to fall in love. (Maybe I am biased, after all I am an ARMY)

Hi TeeJ, so good to see your reactions to BTS and to follow your journey with discovering them. Silver (senior, silver hair) Army here in my 70s from Australia, white, grandmother etc. Being this age I've seen and followed the breadth of musical styles, groups and soloists from post WW2. I never thought I would see anyone top the Beatles and Queen, but there is no-one like BTS. None. This is the best group in my lifetime. They also sing and rap live while they dance live, which they trained for. Before you go further please watch Taylor Mari's guide to the Bangtail 7. You can do it as a reaction video and ARMY will be with you all the way. BTS ARMY, their fans are all over the world, all ages from tots to 90s, all sorts, all colours and ethnic backgrounds, all countries, all religions. Right now all 7 are doing their compulsory military service of 18 months for all South Korean men under 30. Sugar has had a shoulder injury that ruled him out of military service so he is doing the alternate Civil Service which goes a few months longer. They will regroup in total in 2025. Very happy to be a new subscriber TeeJ. Great and sincere reactions.

BTS' performances at the Jimmy Fallon Show and the James Gordon Show from 2018 to 2021 are also the best.
All of them has different quality of voice but Jimin voice is unique among them. Many trainee or idol tried to cover bts song but they can't reach or copying Jimin parts (voice). Some people called it "Jimin voice are bts watermark". When comes to dance i think Jimin are the greatest among them. He even received award for his dance apart from his group. U should watch their lives performance. Its more better than mv. They are so captivating.

Been an army for so many years and I've been listening to this song ever since it released. But it was only today, that I actually understood how flirtatious this really is.
Btw, the high voices in the back are mostly the vocal line; Jungkook, Jimin, Jin. But JK also is known to lay down 10 backing tracks to the actual songs. Hes phenomenal.
