    I like that they retained the vintage look and body design for the LED lights...

    message from 2030: equivalent my ass! It's a f%ckin 3k led (3000WATTS LED / A led light with the max power consumption of 3000 WATT). You should name it 3K led not 20K-tungsten-equivalent-led!

    • @AmadeuszAndrzejewski
      @AmadeuszAndrzejewski Před 5 lety +3

      True. This equivalent sh** is gettning annoying

      That 20K, looking at the specs I think its closer to an Arri 6K tungsten fresnel

    “20k equivalent tungsten led” aka ~~2k led, 4 nanlite forza 500 should do the trick :))

    • @sondp
      @sondp Před rokem

      wrong math my dude 20k tungsten = 5K led and 10k HMI

  • @AmadeuszAndrzejewski
    @AmadeuszAndrzejewski Před 5 lety +17

    The lamps are awesome.
    But please, for the love of god and all that is sacred - don't use auto white balance. And if you don't have time to at least throw a LUT on the log footage, then maybe don't shoot in log? If that was some random youtuber I wouldn't mention it. But you're No Film School. You're teaching people about filmmaking. Keep some standards...

    40.000 for a light? really? :D

    • @YoeriKurvers
      @YoeriKurvers Před 5 lety +2

      Not that expensive

    • @julianreverse
      @julianreverse Před 5 lety +2

      A single 20kW bulb is at 1500 and will last for 350h ... and of course, it will draw 20kW power ... even if the LED lasts for only 20.000h you can buy two of them for the money you would normaly spend on bulbs.

    • @TERRAMOUNT
      @TERRAMOUNT Před 5 lety

      @@julianreverse ok, ok.. but for 40k you can buy an arri amira.. i mean.. you get way more technology for this price. in generell i was just saying 40k is too expensive for any kind of light (i think)

    • @janludwig7286
      @janludwig7286 Před 5 lety +3

      @@TERRAMOUNT Well, without proper lighting your Amira will be of no use. And it's a Mole-Richardson, they last forever and for a big production, and that is the place where you will see these, it is not that much money. For a tungsten 20k, you would need a much larger distro, adding significant cost.

    • @Oceansta
      @Oceansta Před 3 lety

      The correct answer is that these light are not meant for personal use - they're for commercial use. Translation: you buy them and rent them out. Therefore you could recover the cost of the light in about a year or so. After that, you're making a lot of money off it. That's why film equipment costs so much. The manufacturers know this and charge accordingly. The rental houses pay those prices coz they know they'll make it up and coz the DPs demand high-quality gear.

    Way overpriced. Godox or Neewer will be selling them within 2-years for $600.

    • @jasonmcadam8096
      @jasonmcadam8096 Před 2 lety +4

      well, it's been two years. I still don't see godox selling 20k leds.

      Three years now. Still no 20k equivalent light from Godox or Neewer.
