In the early 70's, my mom would take me and my friends to Sandy's because they had the best french fries. Then , one day, Sandy's was closed. We were shocked. Later, we heard that they (Sandy's) had sold to McDonald's. This was in 1972-73 in Kansas.
@MONTYMGMT I did work at the 5th avenue & NW Blvd Location while attending Franklin University. Earlier while attending Whetstone HS (61-63) I worked at the Cooke Road & Hight Street location.
Two things I'd like to forget in my life...This Sandy's commercial and living in Decatur,IL where I worked at Sandy's. I remember the great ice cream and that big scot sauce.I loved working there I just hated being in Decatur...LOL
I loved sandys big scott burger shake and fries I would walk there 6 blocks just to get that every day - I would like to know how to make the big scott sauce which is like a sweet relish sauce - does anyone know the receipe? please share it.
does anyone have the recipie for the big scott sauce and I think it was on cabbage and not lettuce. Would really love the recipie if anyone would share it, I would appreciate it.

I worked at 2 different Sandy's in Columbus, Ohio in the early 60's
Wichita, Ks. anyone? I remember thinking how I was all that and a bag of chips because my name is Sandy. Lol.
They were the best burgers EVER! I sure wish I knew what was in their secret sauce!

They got bought out by Hardee's if I'm not mistaken
