    Nandipha Mntambo's beautiful sculpture reminds me of the Adinkra symbol of DWENNIMMEN (ram's horns) illustrating humility in her strength! Ashe.

    I think she looks resigned to the Labyrinth. Not gentle at all, but contemplating her fate.

    I'm unsure what a kindler, gentler Minotaur would have done with the young women and men sacrificed in the Labyrinth each year. Perhaps that expression is merely deceitful.

      That is intentional; it is a self-portrait. All of her work is modeled after herself and her mother.
