Not only did this age about as well as moldy cheese. He got a second lease at life as in getting sober and healthy and a whole new lease of success after
Unfortunately, he is no longer on tour. At the final show of his last tour in 2022, he stated to the effect of "*IF* we ever tour again, it will be something very different." Trent has since done interviews where he has talked about how his priorities in life have shifted - he wants to be around for his family/children, and the music industry is no longer what it used to be. He has built a very successful career in scoring Hollywood movies, clearly has a net worht in the many 10s if not 100's of millions, and, he has no reason that he "needs" to tour anymore. I hope I'm wrong, but I think Nine Inch Nails is history.
From my understanding and based on Henrys own tour stories he has written about there was just a tiff between them. "Rollins Band and NIN had to share a bus on the first Lollapalooza tour. Rollins probably didn't think much of their music in the first place but it appears to be down to a personality clash. Rollins, particularly at that time, was probably at his most aggro. Listen to his spoken material from that period--- there's good stuff on it but it's a lot more cynical and angry than his shows of the last 15 years or so. NIN were a young band on their way up and behaving like idiots. The Rollins book containing his journals from that tour is called "Do I Come Here Often?". The story that stands out to me was that the NIN guys were intentionally shitting in the toilet and not flushing it, thinking it was funny that some janitor was going to have to clean it up. When Rollins reacted negatively, NIN's tour manager yelled "why don't you get off Trent' back?" to him. He also said that he found out that as they were smashing their equipment, they were having it repaired. He found this to make them "fake". Their manager would tell them what could and couldn't be broken before the nights show based on what they had back-ups for." I found the above on a site talking about the two, and that is the main take away from it. I think as people Henry just didn't like them.
Looks like he found balance and can tour past 40. Personal growth. Good for him.
Sometime later:
'58 years old and loving it.'
40 seems so far away when you're in your 20s.

I saw NiN in 2018 and it was intense. Dude is the gold standard for aging with grace and dignity
GET SOME!!!!
He wasn't kidding when he said it will suck the life out of you.
This statement aged like milk and goat cheese because Trent Reznor toured at 40!
It didn't work out for Pete Townshend either.
Look who is almost 60 years old and still on tour hahahahahahahahahahhahaha
We all think about being something that we are not today when we were young.

@@viewfromtherail Sounds like a good plan for him. He achieved the peak of his career and it is time that his family needs him most
@@viewfromtherail How grateful I am that this comment has aged badly.
