No one can complain when the job is done
All were really good. I’d say one of the best was the “look two ranks above your own.” That can be applied in any career path and even in society. Strive to be what you WANT to be, not just what’s next in line. Great video!
My advice just help to join
Not all duty stations and company command are the same.
Can I bring minoxidil to basic training.
18 turning 19 in 2 months, joining the Coast Guard active duty shipping out in 5 days. My dad was in the USCG for 16. Semper Paratus and good luck to all my brothers joining the other branches ‼️

Just do it and keep a positive perspective as you're doing it. The pros outweigh the cons, in my opinion. Aside from marrying my wife, joining the Army was the best decision I made.

Going to meps in two weeks for active duty in the Army. You've highly influenced my decision (Although it was my overall choice) Your videos have given me the answers to all the questions I've had about joining, before joining and after joining. Just wanted to update. I just got done with MEPS (it was honestly a horrible experience in terms of being SO BORING AND LONG). I ship out to OK on the 5th and will be 91B for a 6 year term. Mixed emotions so far but it’ll definitely be worth it for myself and my family in the end. If I can do it, you can as well. Best of luck to everyone and I hope you all well.
This was solid, and have to agree with the young NCO in the beginning: join with a plan, think about the end and what you want to get out of your service.
The only reason why we have a Military is to defend our Country. Everyone needs to be very clear on that. The education, Money etc. are bonuses. I wish everyone understood that prior to joining. Once again you are joining the Military to SERVE your Country. Always keep that in mind and you’ll have a great experience. Aaron Battley liking what I’m hearing from you. The Military can be a awesome experience, but it’s not for everyone. Thanks for telling people about the cons of the Military rather than just the pros.
Most Americans don't care if you served in the military, they don't care.

I am taking a big step in my career and taking my talents to Westpoint. I’ve been in Fort Campbell almost 2 years now, deployed to Romania for 9 months, and was apart of the 2nd class ever to complete an air assault course there. I have a lot more improving to do and preparing for this will be one of many hardest challenges yet. I am hoping and praying for everyone on there journeys and I know everyone reading will be absolutely magnificent in whatever they choose to do in life! Go out and get it if you want it💪🏽

My advice to the upper ranks treat the people assigned to you with respect. I always wanted to work hard and do my best because I liked and respected the petty officers that were respectful towards me.
Great video man! I live in Brazil, I almost joined the Army here when I was 18 (wich is the mandatory age to join the military here) I ended up being dismissed because I have flat feet. But I wish I did, and I think is a great thing for you to show that, you're all regular people, that it builds character, for those in need, and it's a great career.

In 2 weeks, I hit my 36th anniversary of shipping out. I wish I'd had 1/10th of the advice you've just given out to your viewers. Looking back, there's a lot I'd have done differently. If you see something that looks difficult or scares you (short of playing Frogger in traffic or some other stupid shit), run towards it. If you don't think you can do it, prove yourself wrong by doing it anyway.

I use to shoot pool with CSM Tilly...( CSM of the Army a couple years later) in Bad Krueznach...very cool guy...last of the cigar chomping whisky shooting hard noses...the US Army is ALWAYS evolving...and the army rolls along...

@@Unknwn-_ Brother that’s what has taken me so long to go to Meps. I finally passed my drug test last week and it took a little over a month to get clean. I smoked for the last 9 years of my life and NEVER quit and never thought I was gonna quit. I PROMISE you that it’s all a mental game. Hit a sauna or hot bath daily and get that stuff out of your system. Workout some and find new habits. I can assure you that after the 3rd - 5th day I was straight and you should be as well. I promise you can do it buddy just keep your mind off it as much as possible. Best of luck to you
@@Unknwn-_ Also, I’m more than likely going to start back smoking after my service is over with, but the benefits are so great and the career opportunities are amazing. I never thought I would say this but I don’t mind stopping smoking for a few years for a better life and future.

I’m on the path to try and get into the military! I want to get that option 19(get to choose my first base), and/or option 26(2 year contract so I can get a taste of active duty and if I like it, extend my contract)

1. If your gonna join get a useful bachelor first and join as an officer.
2. Join a different branch.

With not being taken care of, that is already happening and can get worse very soon. The VA denies so many claims, and when it doesn't, they often take so long to the point where veterans suffer for an extended period of time or commit suicide. The United States is about to reach the debt ceiling, and if we do, that will cut veterans off from so many programs they have now i.e. GI bill, pension, retirement, ect. I say this as someone who has sworn in 2 weeks ago and has several family members in the military who have experienced problems getting the care they need.
The VA here in Los Angeles no longer has a walk in medical clinic. They prefer we go to the ER if you don't have an appointment. I met one vet who waited nearly 3 days to get his Rx refilled.
Americans don't care, most Americans don't care if you served in the military, 1% join and only a small percentage care about men and women thst join the military and the huge chunk of the left over percentage, it is mostly careless, most Americans don't care.
If you live in the barracks, buy washing machine cleaner tablets. Barracks soldiers have a nasty tendency to just forget their laundry in the washer which causes mold and mildew buildup.
Drop a tablet in there, let jt run its cycle and then wash your laundry.
Ive been considering joining but I already have a few IT certifications and cybersec Im tbh a lil nervous to join and then be forced into a job thats not relative to my civilian experience.

I’ve been watching your videos a lot lately since I’ve decided to join the Army and they’re all masterpieces bro. Quick question though, are you active duty, reserves or national guard? I don’t want to be active but I don’t know the difference between reserves or national guard…
National guard is state funded
Reserves is federally funded
And if you decided to go active duty it's easier to transition if your in the reserve

Take the MOS (job) you want L.O.L. in basic training they told us to forget promises made by our recruiters. Your job is determined by where they need you.

Pick an MOS you would want to do for 3-4 years. You can always change it if you don't like it.

Sgt. Major Sims was my battalion sgt major...cool man, I was an e4 taking privates too improssesing I fell asleep in a chair in S1. He walked in I heard at ease !!!!! I looked all fucked up my beret on my shoulder bc I was using it as a pillow....he told me to unfuck myself but then immediately asked me how i been, I was going through some shit from the last deployment and he knew..... he truly cared/cares

Last year a floor company I worked at I got paid 35k in one year which is good but my only bill was my 1200 a month car note I paid 17k in that year worth of payments and that don’t include gas food and other stuff lol I’m thinking of saying goodbye to my car and joining when I get out I’ll get it again just better credit and stuff

You have to be a lawful permanent US resident, you you'd need a green card afaik. It's doable but you'd need to talk to some recruiters from the US to know specifics I think
