"Sur 8 mâles réintroduits dans la nature, six ont été tués par les chimpanzés sauvage" _ Liberté chérie ... Il est vrai que vivre des années dans un cage de 1m50 de côté n'est pas une alternative. Bel engagement de cette association !!!🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

Releasing monkeys or chimpanzees or gorillas from cages into the wild has always been disastrous. Most of them either all die soon or they are killed by their wild counterparts or they die because they don't know the way and customs of living freely in the forest. So this work has been proven many times to be futile

Awesome documentary! Truly enjoyed watching and learning about the behavior of the Chimpanzee troops and their relationship with the researcher and her team. Thank you for sharing your research with us. The baby is an adorable girl. It’s amazing how the mother and her offspring spend years together until the adolescent matures and is ready to start her own journey in the wild habitat.

I’m not sure how long ago this was filmed but, chimps can swim I’ve seen them swim in Florida you just have to teach them. So I guess in the wild no they can’t swim but, I bet if they had to they could they are smart enough to figure out how to doggie paddle like the Florida chimps. I mean there are a few Orangutans that learned years ago on one of the release Islands in the rainy seasons and she only had one arm and half of the other thanks to poachers🤬. I think her name is/ was Kessie.

Sadly captive Chimpanzees can be taught a lot by humans, on how to survive and feed themselves in the wild, but: not how the tribal politics of wild apes function. Nor can they learn the savage side from us that will serve as self defense when needed. Wild chimps go to war when resources are scarce. Pressure from deforestation and human encroachment insures that scarcity. Even in a protected environment like Monkey World in Dorset England, introducing new apes into established groups is frought with danger. On top of that, all these animals are severely traumatized by their human capture from their wild families. Making reintroduction to wild relatives nearly impossible in these high pressure environments. This is an admirable ambition here, but chances of success are low for especially males, to succeed being reintroduced in the wild long-term. Then there is the threat from further human predation in these chaotic countries.
