"Future Funk" (Demon) by JonathanGD [All Coins] | Geometry Dash 2.11

- "Future Funk" is one of the most iconic 2.1 levels to me, if not across all versions. With the 10-year anniversary coming up, I felt like it'd be fitting to upload this and a couple other iconic levels, so you may see some uploads like that. As of writing this I'm still on vacation and unable to record anything myself. Special thanks to Floppy for doing these for the channel!
Admittedly, I didn't remember many of the level's parts, especially in the first half, before looking to write this description. The most iconic parts come later, such as the Dual at 2:54 and of course the part at 3:59. This part's block design and the "2018" in the background is what I remember most. These parts have aged quite well in my opinion, and so have some of the other parts, but I do have to say that some parts here and there look quite outdated. It's 5.5 years old at this point, though, so that's to be expected. It was great back then, and as a result, it definitely helped popularize levels this long with its duration of 4.5 minutes. 8.7M downloads in-game, 5M more than his next most downloaded level, is a testament to that.

To me it’s quite crazy to think that it’s already been over five years since this level has been released. JonathanGD has had such a big and positive influence on the creator scene during all of 2.1. With his really unique creating style he inspired a lot of creators and he’s one of the creators who introduced high quality XXL levels to this game. Future funk, its sequel and all of his other big projects are all such iconic levels that I’m sure won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
I think Jon is highly responsible of an increase in creators spending a lot of time on their levels

One of the most recommended levels for beginners of the game.
I believe this is by far the easiest Hard Demon in the game.
I got 25% in 5 attempts and afterwards did a full practice run despite my hardest demon being Dem Journey which is a Medium.

This level was my first JUMP jump in terms of difficulty, going from easy-Medium Demon Ultra Violence to this. Mastering everything from start to finish took some time but was worth it. My favourite part is the dual, which syncs pretty well to the song and in general is really fun. Also, I beat this level half an hour after I died at 99%, which is one of the best accomplishments I've gotten done in this game so far. Next up, Light Travel :)

Bro just like me, i have just beaten UV and now im trying to beat this.
Its shocking to me that this released in 2018. For its time it was INCREDIBLE, and even today i think it holds up phenomenally
i definitely see that people are saying lately that Jonathan "fell off" in the quality of his levels compared to his earlier 2.1 works, and i think that's probably because his style became more detailed over time, which clashes alot with his really simple style of structuring. personally, it was maps like Biru, Dark travel and mostly Future funk that i think had the perfect balance of designs that are simple but appealing, with said structuring style Jonathan has

Its crazy how influential Future Funk is, I remember before the magic section got overhauled there was lots of remakes (of varying quality) of that level on it.
This is one of those levels where the quality isn't reflected through the parts themselves, but through the full experience. incredible stuff, honestly
JonathanGD is one of my favorite creators so I love this level, recently beat it myself recently for my second hard demon
I beat this recently after 4 years on and off. Each and every time I came back to it it felt so awesome to play. Future Funk is just one of the levels where you feel so awesome playing it, like you are actually doing really good. Even though the core gameplay is easy, it feels so impressive just to attempt it. Despite the fact that I've beaten Extreme demons now, Future Funk is still one of my proudest achievements.
I did exactly the same, been doing runs on it since 2019 and finally beat it as my hardest at Christmas
Holy, this takes me back to being a kid again, at the peak of my obsession with gd, coming home from school and grinding out some demon till it was dark outside. Man those were the days.

If this level still holds up, it's because how polished it is with the effects and color usage. You can tell that JonathanGD is A BEAST with colors and how he uses them.
This is one of my favorite Jonathan levels, can’t decide if I like this or The Farewell more because they’re both great! :)

I am really bad at actually playing the game and this is one of the very few hard demons that I bothered beating, the gameplay is so consistent and fun for such a long level which is crazy, the visuals were so ahead of its time as well and still looks great for today's standards. Ever since this came out it's stayed as my top 5 favorite levels of all time

I beat this as a new hardest a few weeks ago, really fun level, the visuals and gameplay can be really fun (if don’t get unlucky.) and overall its a great series! I don’t think the title of the level aged well lmao. Cool level by Johnathan Geometry Dash
Jonathan's style of creating has never been bad, and its great quality maintains in every level he uploads, especially this level that still looks stunning and also aged very well.

Honestly, I think JonathanGD is a really overhated creator, his gameplay is certainly pretty interesting compared to other creators, but I think its really good. His levels are all very unique and have unique vibes, like how this level modernizes Clutterfunk in a very charming way. Cant wait for Real Travel tbh.

i remember when mbed asked me to edit audio in for his verification video since he was in call and i gave him back a 30fps video bc he couldn’t put it on google drive so i downloaded it off of youtube and he ended up using the version with his microphone lol
