- This week's episode features a shredfest with the world's fastest snow cat aka the Can-Am Maverick Max XRS Turbo RR on tracks in one of the best snowboarding spots in the world - Baldface Lodge. AND, DC snowboard pros, Iikka Backstrom and Justin Fronius, came out to shred the backcountry pow and get a ride in the ultimate Can-Am. Tons of jumps, snow whoops, and wild backcountry action.

That is the legendary Jamie Lynn, he is basically the Travis Rice of the 1990's and has the best method air in the game. He is a stone-cold shredder and I imagine he was just chillin', he's seen some shit.

yeah the snow thrown by steering is absurd, even a 1/4 flap would be enough to keep the front window clear.

Fantastical. I’ve been to BFL a ton of times and as good as this looks...it’s better. The best part of this is watching Jamie sitting totally chill when everyone else is going crazy. Cord is also one of the best personalities up there. JP is so stoked. Enjoy.

Being from Texas, I can only assume that Can-Am is king of powder mountain.
Public service announcement: I owned this same set up with tracks. I wish someone would do a video about what sucks about them. They get stuck frequently, the tracks stabilizing rods break and strand you (bring lots'o parts), they pretty much only work on trails that frankly you could go down with tires because they are so hard packed. If you go over snow with rocks or stumps buried, they dont glide over like a snowmobile because they are far heavier, one track always gets stuck while the other three keep pulling and then break the stuck one. So you better know the terrain under the snow. They will traverse through powder (slooowly) but really only for short distances, otherwise they just plow snow and...get stuck. You cant ever keep the snow off the windshield, wipers barely work due to snow weight, and in the wrong weather the windshield just freezes up and is impossible to defrost. So we ditched the windshield and just wore goggles. Last thing, prepare to drive around at max rpm. EVERYWHERE. Due to being set up for tires, the extra revolutions the tracks need to make to travel the same distance means to do what he is doing in this vid requires beating the snot out of both the engine and the turbo non stop. It IS fun, for sure... but it gets boring in 20 minutes due to the limitations above. I would be scared to death to do what he does because of how easily everything breaks. Especially those downhill jumps...I mean come on. You either need to be super rich with a pit crew/snowcat or have CanAm hook you up with a free one to drive it this way, and have a ton of friends to follow you around for when you get stuck...Oh, you also can really only steer going uphill or on the flats. Downhill you have to use the gas (more speed!) to steer because brakes will just put you into a spin. In conclusion, I regret purchasing mine, pain to store the tracks and remove them each year, A LOT of money for a small amount of fun. Until someone purpose builds a clutch and gearing specifically for tracks as well as a lift kit to keep the body above the snow, these will be a novelty only. Buy a snowmobile and go have actual fun...thats my advice.

I live in Nelson, I got some friends that work up there. Funny story, he left the Can Am up there for them.... Buuuuuuuut didn't have he right paperwork so had to take it back with him, but he's going to come back and drop it off again heh
