I was a dancer for most of my childhood and young adulthood, and as a kid, I watched this show, wishing I could go to that school! When I went to college, I was in the dance company, so I took regular classes and dance classes, then rehearsed the rest of the time! I was in my element. I felt like those kids from Fame!

Oh my, i remember when i used to watch this show i was so little. I was so in love of the characters dancing in the studio. I didn't understand nor care about what was happening in the show. Loved this TV show as a teenager, especially the dance routines, choreography and addictive music!!! Never noticed back then that Janet Jackson was in the cast. How did I miss that??? Characters like Leroy, Danny, Doris and Lydia though I remember her as Debbie Allen were the ones I will never forget!!! Goes down with "Flashdance" again Irene Cara and her unbelievable vocal cords and Jennifer Beal as the "hottest dancer" in town are magnanimous memories of the 80's that not just inspired me then but keep me going, and very very happy about it too now as I enter my 50's......🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶....💕.......✨.......

One of the best TV series ever made. But it was ahead of it's time & didn't get the viewers & support it deserved. As a pro ex-dancer. I know only too well how difficult it is to fill the floor/stage with just your presence, your body, your moves, your rhythm & your music. To hold the audience's attention & keep them engaged - until "the dancer becomes to dance!" And even after all these years. This still brings back fond memories of a youth long gone.

All i wanted to do was dance since I was a little girl. The movie "Fame" was beyond my dreams. Ofcourse other movies about dance have been amazing to me but the movie and show was all about me. I had very little ballet training, yet I learned the choreography from videos by Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Sting, Dirty Dancing (movie) "Chicago" the movie, Paula Abdul and many more. I watched the videos so many times to train myself to learn the choreography, yet I loved learning. I am so grateful we had a "time" in MTV where dance was as important as the music, it gave a young depressed,outcast girl something to do and feel like her life meant something.

I translate all that pinned up depression into a intense energetic dance with emotion. Oddly, when im happy, i cant dance - thats why at weddings i cant dance 😂. Only in my darkness i can dance to bring back happiness back in me. Crazy. I also paint the best when im angry or sad/depressed. Who else is like me, i wonder.

Aww! I was still very young & had just one dream... obsessed with 'Fame', dancing & music, i wanted to go to the famous school of Art... not for dancing alone; i was also madly in love with Leroy... Hahaha! What was i thinng? That he's stayed that young & single? lool! Omg this song takes me back in time & stil gives me that awesome feeling back again! Love it!

Qué bonito! Gene Anthony Ray también aparecía en la película. Hace unos días también nos ha dejado Irene Cara, la mítica Coco en la película y la voz de la mayoría de las canciones. Por si te interesa hay un video de una reunión de varios intérpretes de la serie en donde se rinde homenaje a los fallecidos y es muy emocionante cuando sale la foto de Leroy y todos lloran recordándolo
