My brother in law has the same rifle, it had the same problem. We took apart the magazine and saw that the metal ramp was bent causing the feeding issue. We straightened it out so it had a nice slope up to the chamber, now it’s all good.
I have the same problem with my 352ka it’s were the bolt picks up the round. It’s a lateral rib on the underside of the bolt. What’s happened is this edge had worn round from many years of use. All you need to do is file it square again. Do not take to much steel off. Only enough to square up the edge to pickup the shell. Cheers!!!
I have a model 342k which is the bolt action version of the same gun. If your magazine is messing up, most likely the rounds are tilting nose up. Look at the rear freed lips, they are rounded on the rear corners and if the back wall gets pushed back from loading the rounds end up slightly to far back and start to tilt up. Use needle nose pliers to just barely been the back wall forward. Like A TINY amount at a time just until the rounds stay "flat" in the mag. The rounds need to slide up the bolt face behind the extractor and if they are tilted up too much that doesn't happen reliably. A tilted case misses the chamber and can get bent as you describe.
This is the information I’m looking for thank you so much I have a couple of mossberg .22 s with the same problem so I’d imagine this is a common issue with them
Helpful info. Mine seems to feed better now that I slightly bent the wings on the mag. I also switched to .22 Longs only and don’t use the LRs. Now to try it actually firing the rifle.
My dad had a model 352 for years. It functioned well, but the firing pin broke often. Take the bolt out and check the firing pin. It should be one piece, not two. If this is not the cause of the problem, try a new magazine. The factory mags work better than the aftermarket copies. Some of these rifles were make for shorts, longs and long rifle cartridges. These used a special magazine which was adjustable for cartridge length and had a built in feed ramp. Check on the barrel for what it is chambered for and make sure you are using the correct magazine. Good luck !
Did you scrub the chamber with a brass brush and solvent ? As the cartridges load, they scrape against the top of the chamber and deposit lead . This slows the cartridge and could cause your problems.
Haven’t tried taking a brass brush to it yet that’s a good idea that makes the most sense to me as they just aren’t sliding in properly thanks for the advice
Mine has some feeding issues also. I clean it more than I should, but that seems to fix the problem. It likes CCI mini mags..very little feeding issues with those
I’ll have to try some ccis one of the other people that commented mention the feeding rail may have been a bit bent I bent it back upwards a tad and that seemed to fix mine
Take the slide out and feed some in by hand to see where any resistance might be ? Not much of a gun guy but there must be ways to adjust the relativity of the bits. Maybe a stupid question, but have you cleaned it regularly ?
Not a stupid question at all it could probably use a cleaning and I haven’t adjusted anything yet this is the first time I’m shooting it so I’m sure it could use a few adjustments
got one and no issues with the feed. you can manually insert single rounds without a clip which is nice. also the original clip has a fun all size fit. this gun shoots all sizes of .22. .22cb .22hv .22lr
It is most likely the ammo, with 22's it is the ammo. Try some match ammo and avoid bulk, you will probably fix your feeding issues. Good luck. Dave & The Girls
I often don’t wear eye protection when shooting .22 at paper but I guess your right I should take better care especially on a rifle that’s constantly malfunctioning

I just acquired one a 1957 352 K, can't find good magazines, nor firing pin. It is in great condition, beautiful
I know my comment is late but I’m picking one of these up tomorrow and I’m really excited, thanks for the video buddy!
Love to hear it I hope yours functions better then mine lol

Mine has the longer magazine didn’t know it was rare that’s pretty cool
My 352 sear broke and after that it would fire the whole magazine in about one second.

Oh yes broke firing pin, I have the short, long, and long rifle model. Found 10 round magazine, but drags on chambering.
I have a 351cb and it has the same problem. I found that running CCI ammo fixed the problem. Ammo is a big problem.

my mossberg 353 wont chamber hollow points ......also it has a hard trigger pull

Where is your eye protection? Always practice safety. You only get one set of eyes.
