      Next time you propagate money tree dab the end of the plant with miracle grow all purpose plant food that will definitely speed up the growing process I’ve had my money propagating for about a close to two months now and it has roots growing now

    I learned that from Planterina too!! I tried it and it worked for an Umbrella Plant cutting that I had. It’s actually the only one that survived. I plan to continue adding Pothos to my water propagation projects moving forward 💪🏽

    Where did you cut on the money tree to get the proper cutting that you're water rooting? I have a 6 year old money tree and there are several places where leaves had previously fallen off so I'm curious if i could cut that low and an old node would still root. Also, how often do you change the water? Do you have to use glass to do it?

  • @jodyweima606

    Thanks for this. Great vid.
    A couple things; the pancake plant in the windowsill in soil - what was that on top of the soil? Was it soil, or a 'covering' on top of the soil? (Which leads me to ask if you've ever talked about gnats. Your videos are new to me) :)
    Second.. be careful with the pancake plant rooting in water in the kitchen. I don't know if you've experimented, but I think he's getting too much light. He's a bit brown. I've found bright, indirect light best for these plants. It's one of those ones you have to move around; he'll tell you where he's happiest. (I'm in western Europe and even a northern window, for me, was too much light.)
    Jade is easy! But for me, required patience. A friend just told me to place a leaf in soil... and wait. And I waited. And waited. But he's finally growing :)
    Will look for more videos of yours :)

    I watch Planterina as well. I ordered some plants from them in like August (2021) but I recently discovered my money tree had root-rot (my own fault). 🤦‍♀️ But now ik I can save it bc propagation is possible! 🙆‍♀️ Ty for creating this video! 😃

    Thank you for your enthusiasm. I want all them plants lol. Going to try find them all on marketplace.
    Appreciate that you wrote all plants name in description. (Latin names would be awesome for international viewers....but then it one google away so its extra).
    Share the brand of soil you use or mix or if you made it yourself. Is it all same soil in all plants or do you adjust soil to plant? Cause they all looked great and thrived so whatever you doing is working. Do tell, lol.

    Just curious, I also put a stem of wandering Jew in a bottle just like what you did. Do I need to eventually move the plant to a soil pot? Or are they okay saying in the water bottle ?
    Thank you

      @SimplyDeliciousEats  Před 3 lety +1

      You can keep it in water, but they will go faster and healthier if transferred to soil. I have one of my tradescantia plants in a semi-hydro setup with leca and it does well.

    Just wondering how your money tree leaves without nodes turned out? Mine grew roots and then when I put them in soil, they slowly started dropping leaves and eventually died. I’m going to try again with a proper cutting!

    • @SimplyDeliciousEats
      @SimplyDeliciousEats  Před 3 lety

      They did not last long once I got them in the soil. I had high hopes for them, but they didnt make it. If I try it again, I will leave them in water and just see what happens. The proper cutting is alive and thriving.

      @SimplyDeliciousEats  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes! In fact, they will grow roots within 2 days or so. They root very fast. It's fun to watch. You can also just take a clipping and put it directly into soil and they will root that way also. they are very hearty plants

    @paulschaefer5241 Před 3 lety +1

    I would wait until you have a shoot before you call rooting the money plant leaves successful. there are many plants where the leaves will grow roots but instead of getting a new plant you just end up with a big leaf.

      So true 😭 when I first got interested in plants I tried to propagate my coleus from a leaf and it got massive, about 5inches long, when I pulled it out of the soil it had an insane root system, but that's it...no new growth, I was so disappointed
