Thanks for video, great info. I was surprised at how much root you took off.
2 questions.
1 - would this be the same for trident maples?
&
2 - we had an early spring in QLD this year, does this need to be done before the leaves and new growth comes in for spring?

Hi, yes the same method can be used for tridents. If the leaves are out, it might be a little late to take off this amount of roots. Better to do it when the buds are swelling

Maples will “cry” after such an execution in spring time. That’s not the best period for such a strong cutting.
