    If you've never come across Ronnie before, he's the man with the best tone going. His tone is rich, chocolate, woody, smoked, spiced chai. Brilliant explanation. Why are Thunderbirds so expensive in the UK? 😠

    Thanks for the comparison, Ronnie. I've play, and enjoy both the Rocket Low (F and D) and Thunderbird (F). Just a note, the Rocket Low has 8 reed plate screws. I've never seen this many reed plate screws before on any diatonic harp. Please keep up the great lessons!!

    Wow! Those sound great! I don’t own a low harmonica but I’m really want one. Both those harps are great. First time I’ve ever heard a LL harp. Love it! You were right, now I want one! Thanks for the great videos bud. I just received my first Rocket in the key of A. Awesome instrument. And my C Special 20 just can’t be beat.

    Pretty sure there's a third reedplate screw behind the center plastic support on the Rocket, plus another one center front. Rockets use 8 screws to hold the reed plates together; Crossovers (and so I'd assume Thunderbirds, as well) only use 7.

    Is that possible to bend on low low F harp?

    • @BoazKimMusic
      @BoazKimMusic Před 3 lety

      It is, but the lowest notes on the LLF below hole 4, become much more difficult to get the complete range of the available bends. Hole 1 is very tough but it is possible. I have, though it’s not usable… Maybe with more practice😅

  • @burnerjack01
    @burnerjack01 Před 4 lety

    No expert, but the best I've ever tried was the Yonberg Typhoon.
    Expensive, but very durable and play so smooth and easy.
    Cuts down on the frustration of fighting with lesser harps that are not so easily forthcoming with a smooth sound and play.
    You'll play longer and enjoy it more.

    I have two LL Gs (one a Thunderbird the other a Lucky 13) both sound good, but both gone out on the One Blow. What bothers me I'm not a hard player. The manufactures still have some work to do to get them to work properly.

    I got a Seydel Low D quite a few years back - and it turned me off to low tunings almost for good. The notes were completely different than a standard diatonic - and was terrible for blues. Just last month I got a Suzuki Promaster Low F - it's great and has the intervals I expect. Do you have experience with the Seydel low keys ? I feel now like the mispackaged some other tuning in there.
    I'm probably going to invest in a Thunderbird Low D to finally replace that one - since we play in A so much in our band

    Здраствуйте, подскажите стоит ли тундербирд своих денег, насколько она лучше настроена в плане отзывчивости hohner rocket low?Люблю обычную marin band по звуку но сравнивая эти гармоники на слух, все же кажется rocket звучит жирнее и объёмнее.

    Hey man! Fantastic video and playing. I was wondering if on higher/mid range priced harps for new players if adjustments/warming up the instrument or reed tweeking is necessary or useful?

    • @Harmonica123
      @Harmonica123  Před 5 lety +1

      jackiemoon12341 good question. Tweaking rarely but you can break it in a bit by breathing easy from the diaphragm and not bending to aggressively by pulling from the lungs first. Those who breathe properly all the time have no need to break in the harp in my experience. Just continue breathing from the diaphragm.
