Whites routinely and proudly call themselves Irish American or Italian American or Native American … and more. Some even have parades to celebrate their heritage beyond American shores. Trying to connect to one heritage doesn’t undermine the importance of the other. It completes the person. And especially for Black Americans who had the History and heritage stripped away after being forced into slavery for 300 plus years. And Elon Musk is an African invader … African Colonizer. How he related to his coming from Africa and Blacks being descended from Africa is as different as wind and rain.

Once ad there fifths of a human being, and has now evolved into an American. Now I know why you feel that way. As an African, you were a slave, could not vote, and treated like farm animals. Today, you are no more of African descent, but American. So, the fact that blacks were stolen and sold into slavery is a saving grace for you. You have no land or people to return to. Your origin is a few hundred years old. Who were you before slavery. Have you seen what Russia has revealed. Jeremiah said, " For the hurt of the daughter of my people, am i hurt."

Good for you 👏.Your family has been here for hundreds of years. You do know they were enslaved people for hundreds of those years they were here right 🤔Did you know your great grandpa who fought in WW11 was in a segregated military, 🪖 segregated barracks , cafeterias even segregated basic training areas. You do know if you are black you will have African ancestry in your DNA 😮 and this is why many black folk use the term African American honoring those stolen and enslaved ancestors brought all over the world 🌎 So People have a choices and can define themselves which ever way they want to.Now think🤔 your American cause you were born here (I take it you were) 🤔 but your black because you had the African in your DNA.Plus I don't give a rats azz what smokey calls his self but sound like some shame 🥺in the game to me😏 I'm just sayin😏

If African countries were successful and prosperous American black people would be proud to be associated with Africa. But because Africa has widespread poverty and war some black people like Smokey want to distance themselves from the very continent that there ancestors came from 400 years ago. There's other people in the world whose names start with a color. Black American describes us as the black ethnic group of the United States. ALSO, and most of all, it benefits our children who otherwise would NEVER learn their history, because their parents don't teach them. Black History should be acknowledged, by our own people first, not monthly, but, everyday.
