"Laser Storm is easy to play" Oh no it's not. The skill curve is actually quite high considering it might take you a bit to figure out you're not supposed to aim DIRECTLY at the headsets, rather at the sides considering where the infarred beams shot out of. The gimmick is that you are shooting at the head, and you are expected to land perfect headshots to score points. Shooting down the barrel of the blaster is no easy feat either - people actively avoided that area due to how hard it was to hit.
I played this 28 years ago at a site that had customized red and green vests with the sensors mounted on the shoulders and no headset. When I played at a few other sites with the standard headset, it was a bit harder. I played at the one near me with the vests for a few months very often, trying to re live the fun I had at photon as a kid. But then I found ultrazone 80 miles away and would go 2-3 times a week and pretty much stopped playing laser storm which was only 4 miles away I can't believe it is still around and using the same old equipment
I really miss the Lake Worth Fun Depot location, the cheap and tacky 90's neon obstacles and theming were freaking amazing.
