  • For those who want stats. Around the Rock is 155 miles (I did just under 79 the first day and just under 77 day 2) about 9000 ft of climbing (5200 day one 3900 day two) and is organized by Fitzgeralds Bicycles.
The route is roughly 50% gravel roads and 50% pavement. While it is a huge challenge it’s very much doable for a large variety of cyclists.
Most people will do it in a single day, but a two day mini Bikepacking ride is also fun. The Trek Checkpoint was the perfect set up for this route.

Wow Chris. Wish I could’ve joined ya for this when we were in the Teton Valley in May. Looks amazing. It’s On my bucket list now.

Definitely a bucket list ride, I would absolutely do it again. Fitzgerald’s organizes the group start (which I started with) for summer solstice weekend to give everyone the best chance of finishing in the daylight.

Nice job man! I saw you in the parking lot briefly. I was going to stop and meet you and let you know I enjoyed the channel but I never saw you again. I did the whole thing as a straight shot and the heat and wind were definately tough. I was one of the last ones in but wow what an accomplisment! I don't know how you rode the pass without stopping that's impressive. I walked a lot of it because I couldn't keep my heart rate down.

Haha I think I only made it because Id ridden 60 miles that day so far and not 140. It’s such an epic ride in one day though, Ill probably do it that way again next time, great job on finishing!

Right on man! We live in Pocatello, headed out tomorrow to bikepack the CDT in the Centennial Mountains near Island Park. If you ever want to join one of our adventures, you're more than welcome!

Looks like a cool ride, where is this?

Around the Teton Mountain range. It starts and finishes in Victor Idaho but large parts of the route are in Wyoming with a significant portion in Grand Teton National Park.
