I'm Italian and my parents have never liked brands. One of my mom's friends was very rich and often gave us her clothes which she didn't need anymore. They were by Armani, Valentino, Gucci...!
My mom sat down with a pair of scissors and cut the labels whenever possible. We tried to stop her but she was determined and said that we weren't sheeps. 😅 At school my siblings and I couldn't brag like the other children but some years later I learnt that I had been lucky to learn from my parents that wearing labels is silly.

And yes, I have great respect for Sadhguru and tunevin to many of his speeches, lectures... But none for someone who neither has the maturity to understand another point of view or ALL the facts, nor is capable of voicing criticism without the use of profanity

"Goofy"? That's ur opinionated opinion... And it's not I who needs to respect myself because it's quite evident that I do, but you have no respect for other people's choices which, are hurting no one. Intolerance of this kind is not found acceptable by most thoughtful people.

Guru was talking about avoiding synthetic fabrics coz they are toxic and mostly forms of plastics. I would add synthetic dyes here coz they are also plastic. Very few brands can allow it. I heard Kojima makes jeans that are out of 100% cotton and have only natural dyes

I have many outfits that were made in Jaipur, I live in Australia…. I’ve worn these outfits many times. They were made for me by friends in India, but now in my country I’m accused of cultural misappropriation….. I’d appreciate your advice. Thank you🙏

Cultural misappropriation is an American term. People here in India and many other nations will actually feel proud of their culture if anybody else loves it. So, wear whatever you want and tell them it's more culture representation than misappropriation.🙂

tell them it was a gift from your friends and you are honoring their friendship , if they get into a huff, say "I will not continue this conversation" and walk away.

I'm living where jeans became popular, it's very cold in winter, snows some, and heavily forested, the stinging nettle can really tear the clothes and the thorns of blackberries, but I don't find them comfortable.

You must find a better fit and 100% cottons. I used to not like jeans too then I find a great shop keeper who told me “no man you wear it too tight, here try these” and I agreed. Now my 🥜 have room 😆

My mother never liked such advertising products; that's how I don't choose products which advertise themselves after sold.
