The House Jan. 6 committee conducted a public hearing Thursday to examine what former President Donald Trump was doing for 187 minutes - from when rioters descended on the Capitol to his videotaped statement urging them to go home. "The mob was accomplishing President Trump's purpose, and he did not intervene," said Rep. Adam Kinzinger, one of the committee members leading the hearing. The committee has continued to lay out evidence this summer, showing Trump encouraged his supporters to descend on the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, after peddling false claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

The large corporations I’ve worked at had automatic data backup and built in redundancy. I do not believe for a minute that the data is “gone forever.” At very minimum several people at the SS need to be fired. At most those responsible at the SS must be held legally accountable. This is a very very big deal.
Personally, I believe the SS must be eliminated and a new agency created in its place.

It's great to watch these hearings again. There's a lot I didn't catch the first time.
Should be mandatory watching. Wouldnt it be great if ALL television, streaming, everyrhimg just stopped and switched to these hearings played over and over for a few days or a week. I doubt they text using the normal texting app.That would be dangerous as a terrorist group or foreign government could access the texts fairly easily and then know things like travel routes for the President and others they protect. Some of those companies were not backing up their accounts the same way. Apparently you weren't alive during the Watergate hearings. 30 year old WH counsel John Dean testified against the 58 year old POTUS Richard Nixon re: Nixon's involvement in the cover-up of the burglary by Nixon operatives of the Democratic Party's National headquarters at the Watergate Condominium complex. A major scandal that forced Nixon to resign in disgrace, the 1st President in US history to do so.

I agree with Liz Cheny that there are many patriots that would stand up and protect our country. There are patriots in both parties that would do the same. Yet it was insane that Trump lied to weaponize his support to start an insurrection. There was no reason to do so. It was all for himself to stay in office. I am glad these hearings were held and information sent over to DOJ for further prosecution.
