This is the best song the Goo Goo Dolls have recorded in a while. They should have put it on the CD. They should have made a video and they should have had another #1 song.
Nice one guys! Great stab! And I should know. I wrote it. Can you please credit us this time, unlike Paul Westerberg? Then we might get some royalties. Anyway, I like your version, I think it has the spirit of the original All the best
Some of the comments here are a riot LMFAO. "Does anyone else think this song has an 80s feel?" I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the reason that it sounds like it's from the 80s is that it was written and recorded in the ...... 80s.
great video! great song!- does anyone else feel that this song has kinda an eighties feel to it? love it. "wind down ur window, i think i wanna kiss u, i don't know what else to dooooooooooooo!"
@RyanSpencer83 Totally agree. It's fine to have different opinions and to say that in a kind way. It's called freedom of speech. Apparently, some people have never heard of that.
A Postcard from Paradise Delivered by mortal hands And X marks the spot were you lay And the sun burns down on the sand I sit and watch you sleepin' I listen to you breathin' I wonder if you're dreamin' If you were, what were you dreamin' And I fell under your spell And I lay where I fell So wind down your window Think I wanna kiss you I don't know what else to do You send me Postcards from Paradise Yeah, you do You send me Postcards from Paradise Yeah, you do Like a car broke down in the rain I just can't get started again Without you, I want you to stay A Postcard from Paradise Delivered by mortal hands And X marks the spot were you lay And the sun burns down on the sand There goes love again A 7 day wondering You're out on the ledge again And you're threatening to jump again And here comes temptation Dragging it out again I'm riding the bullet train To your central nervous station And I fell under your spell And I lay where I fell So wind down your window Think I wanna kiss you I don't know what else to do You send me Postcards from Paradise Yeah, you do You send me Postcards from Paradise Yeah, you do Like a car broke down in the rain I just can't get started again Without you, I want you to stay You send me Postcards from Paradise Yeah, you do You send me Postcards from Paradise Yeah, you do You send me Postcards from Paradise Hey, I want you to send me...
Would love to do a video to this great song. I live in Naples Florida so it's a perfect location to get the principal footage. Plenty of sun and rain with awesome beaches. Will make it funny but romantic in a twisted way. Anyone interested in storyboarding with me? Find me and email me.
Actually The Avril Lavigne song shold remind you of this song, since the original is by an 80's band , Flesh For Lulu! Great song, great cover. Alot of A.L.'s songs soung like fun pop from the 80's. Hey, Mickey! is directly ripped off in her I wanna be your girlfriend song.
All you critics here crack me up! LMAO! You probably never picked up a musical instrument in your lives~yet you can dis someone who received along with John Mayer & Rob Thomas an award for songwriting~that's right I know this because I was there when Mr. Rzeznik accepted this very prestigious award! You try writing more than a dozen Top 10 songs then you may open your annoying mouths!
Paul Ockenden keep pissing yourself. it's all subjective. So calling one "the best" has me shaking my head. Happens all the time. Critiques who don-t know a bar of music from a bar of soap.
Ha, I have an old clipping that reads "(Flesh) would play a club [possibly/probably] the Batcave, in London) and the marquee would read "Night of the Ghouls"!
I agree. It is smooth. Nick's rough voice and playful attitude were magical though. They intentionally recorded wit a Velvet Underground feel though. His acoustic interview talks about it. Fucking cancer!
I've got this on the special fan cd! Whoever chose to share this~shame on you for stealing! Didn't u ever hear of God's commandment~thou shalt not steal? This is a remarkable cover & I like it better than the original! Please go buy a copy of Something For The Rest of Us~artists/musicians need to make a living to support their loved ones too! Kudos to MissMejiaHQ~stealing music=BAD KARMA! Stealing anything = BAD KARMA! Pay it forward not BACKWARD!
Constantly aping Paul Westerberg isn't enough, JR now needs to cover songs that PW has already covered? Come on buddy, at least be original in your unoriginality...
I love the Replacements, but his rhythm's way off in that version. I don't usually like the Goo Goo Dolls but they nailed it on this cover. I wished so bad that Westerberg's version WAS better than this but it was a disapointment. Whatever it's a cover song...Comment resurfaces after two years.
You do know that the very last Flesh tour was with this band. As a friend of Nick's I have to respectfully disagree, he would have loved this. This is the Dolls paying tribute to a band they grew up on, who helped form their music styles as they learned to play. There is no honour like being covered out of respect and adoration. Nick would appreciate this and duet with them with a grin on his face.
Flesh For Lulu were such a great band. Glad to see their stuff being revised, cos it no doubt only ever reached a small audience at the time.
It's great when a band makes a cover of a song and doesn't destroy it. Great job guys!
RIP Nick Marsh. Excellent cover! Thanks for posting!
Cool Version Of The epic original by Flesh For Lulu!
RIP Nick Marsh
This is one phenomenal tune sung perfectly by Sir John!
Johhny carrying that big black balloon picture is priceless. Thanks for sharing........

Robby is awesome! Go check out Flesh For Lulu.
it is a nice remake of a Flesh for Lulu original. can't beat the original though...80's not dead
Johny is a big fan of Paul westerberg
We are the normal are wrote by Paul and Johnny together
Sheeeyyyiaghtt!!! love this Lulu song!! great cover Goo's!
This is the best song the Goo Goo Dolls have recorded in a while. They should have put it on the CD. They should have made a video and they should have had another #1 song.
Thank God I got to see them for free in a parking lot near St. Marks Sq. in NYC back in the day. Before they became big.
I wish they would play this this summer
Nice one guys! Great stab! And I should know. I wrote it.
Can you please credit us this time, unlike Paul Westerberg?
Then we might get some royalties.
Anyway, I like your version, I think it has the spirit of the original
All the best
Nailed it! Goo Goo rocks! Mr. Marsh is smiling! Flesh lives forever!
Nice. Thanks for posting

Tailhook MD you are one DUMB FUCK!!!
It is a song from the 80’s
Don’t ruin the song.
Jason Blenner 👍👍
dfelixrx7 You’re a dipshit. FFLL recorded it 30 years ago. GGD covered it 8 years ago. I don’t get it?

Wow! They're awesome awesome songs!!And Johnny Rzeznik looks great!!😉
I don't like the Goo Goo Dolls, just not my cup of tea - but this is a great cover of Flesh for Lulu :)
Wow.. Kudos to the Goo Goo Dolls! SWEET!
Yes please 💌🌴🌊☀️❤🎶🎤
I prefer Paul Westerberg's version of this from Stereo, but this is a pretty good cover too!
great video! great song!- does anyone else feel that this song has kinda an eighties feel to it? love it. "wind down ur window, i think i wanna kiss u, i don't know what else to dooooooooooooo!"
it should have, it was originally released in 1987 :)

I LOVE THIS SONG I HOPE THEY PREFORM IT AT THE LIVE AT THE GARDENS CONCERT NEXT FRIDAY
@RyanSpencer83 Totally agree. It's fine to have different opinions and to say that in a kind way. It's called freedom of speech. Apparently, some people have never heard of that.
Great cover not too far from the original
I go crazy, flesh for lu lu
Lyrics
A postcard from paradise
Delivered by mortal hands
X marks the spot where you lay
Now the sun burns down on the sand
I watched you sleeping
Listened to you breathing
Wondered if you were dreaming, and if you were
What were you dreaming?
And I fell under your spell
And I lay where I fell
So wind down your window
I think I'm gonna kiss you
I dont know what else to do
You send me
Postcards from paradise
Say I want you
You send me
Postcards from paradise
Yeah, you do
Like a car broke down in the rain
I just can't get started again
I want you
I want you to stay
Postcards from paradise
Delivered by mortal hands
X marks the spot where you lay
Now the sun burns down on the sand
There goes love again
7 day wondering
Out on the ledge again
Your'e threatening to jump again
Here comes temptation
Dragging it out again
Riding a bullet train
To your central nervous station
And I fell under your spell
And I lay where I fell
So wind down your window
I think I'm gonna kiss you
I dont know what else to do
You send me
Postcards from paradise
Say I want you
You send me
Postcards from paradise
Yeah, you do
Like a car broke down in the rain
I just can't get started again
I want you
I want you to stay
You send me

Actually, the copyright for the composition is owned by Flesh for Lulu.
@KeVideo22 It's on the deluxe edition on iTunes.
@88Vectorman88 you can find the lightbulb wallpaper on the official ggd website
"X marks the spot!"
great great great song !!! ✌💜🙏THE DOLLZ KICKKIKKIK ASS!!! 2021
y es genial goo goo dolls !!!!!!!!!!
@mrsexypants yeah, i read that right after i posted that question! flesh 4 lulu? i remember them!-vaguely!
@TheBornAnnoyed look I wanna ask a question what does a kung fu movie have to do with the goo goo dolls?
Nope, nope, aaaaaand nope. NO ONE can deliver this like Nick, and no one should ever try.
Agreed...but it's the double Goo Dolls...this band now covers what Westerberg covered (in 2002) since they lack creativity, heart and soul.
@smethious hey what does a kung fu movie have to do with the goo goo dolls?
Would love to do a video to this great song. I live in Naples Florida so it's a perfect location to get the principal footage. Plenty of sun and rain with awesome beaches. Will make it funny but romantic in a twisted way. Anyone interested in storyboarding with me? Find me and email me.
@matt7rock Agreed.
well i like em both
what guitar is johnny using 48 seconds in...the red guitar with the F hole??
Actually The Avril Lavigne song shold remind you of this song, since the original is by an 80's band , Flesh For Lulu! Great song, great cover. Alot of A.L.'s songs soung like fun pop from the 80's. Hey, Mickey! is directly ripped off in her I wanna be your girlfriend song.
@rydan2002 i really wanna make a video for better days , i have a really great idea for it , but i dont have the cinematography skills to do it :/
@TheBornAnnoyed what's that got to do with the goo goo dolls?
a classic cover by the replacements, the too goo's biggest influence. thankyou Paul Westerberg.
+Corey Ziegler Um this is a Flesh For Lu Lu cover.
Thank you Paul Westerberg who covered it too. 😂 Flesh for Lulu wrote one of the best songs ever!
@TheBornAnnoyed PLEASE DON'T BLOCK ME!
cof por esa razon es un bonus track daaaa
hey who's playing harmonica?
This isn't rare, is a bonus track off SFTROU.
@TheBornAnnoyed It was just a joke!
@TheBornAnnoyed Please It was a joke
@TheBornAnnoyed I'm sorry!
@TheBornAnnoyed seriously dude what does a kung fu movie have to do with the goo goo dolls!?
obviously has a rock & roll sound to it. not bad, but it's still the original for me.
The picture of Philly is beautiful. But as a Philly girl, everybody should know that there is nothing "Paradise" about this city! lol!!! JK!
💌📮🌊🌴☀️🎶❤
@TheBornAnnoyed I'm sorry

@ravengoo love all these goo user names , i need to get one :/ lol, jk
Piss myself laughing when people say oh it's better than the original.Flesh for Lulu version is far superior.
Paul Ockenden keep pissing yourself. it's all subjective. So calling one "the best" has me shaking my head. Happens all the time. Critiques who don-t know a bar of music from a bar of soap.
@ccaccord07 I believe in ya man post it.
@terigoo It didn't happen until he started collaborating with Paul Westerberg back in the Superstar Car Wash days ;)
Sorry - Westerberg's cover of this song is so much better.
So!
Why do people write (Rare) on videos? It’s like some kind of cheesy trick that doesn’t work.
The original singer of this song has died. Death certifies rock and roll. It is blood sport, casualities are inevitable. Keep living.
:'(
Syria Mosque
Not so heavy guitars than The Replacements, it's my opinion & noticed it.
Um this is a Flesh For Lu Lu cover. Not the Replacements.
wes mantooth yes I knew it the orig.song from flesh for lulu!!!
When they went "pop".
Ha, I have an old clipping that reads "(Flesh) would play a club [possibly/probably] the Batcave, in London) and the marquee would read "Night of the Ghouls"!
@@ivorytower99 Batcave was an 80s Goth club.
Flesh for Lulu 1000x better , not terrible though.
Hi
so I made a cover of postcard from paradise
I hope you like it
@@HenrieRzeznik bruh
actually sounds a lot better & smoother than Flesh for Lulu.
I agree. It is smooth. Nick's rough voice and playful attitude were magical though. They intentionally recorded wit a Velvet Underground feel though. His acoustic interview talks about it. Fucking cancer!
This version is good but Flesh for Lulu's imo was better
ih8music, you must because this is much better than westerbergs, and westerbergs is good as well.
just go listen to the Westerberg version.. THREE BILLION TIMES BETTER
A billion times better than the original.
I've got this on the special fan cd! Whoever chose to share this~shame on you for stealing! Didn't u ever hear of God's commandment~thou shalt not steal? Jason Sigler this version had the spirit of the original.
This cover = Nick Marsh *rolling* in his grave!
