Natsuki, the girl of his dreams, and her relatives living in the countryside of Nagano Prefecture help him.
The film is full of exciting action and human drama, depicting two very different motifs: the world of the Internet and life of a big family in rural Japan.

The first time I saw this movie was randomly one night on Adult Swim. I was absolutely not prepared for just how great of a film this is.

this is such a wonderful movie i cant believe its not as talked about as much as it should be
I think it's just the difference in time. Like saying assassination classroom hasn't been talked about for years, it doesn't mean it's a bad anime. I'm pretty sure that assassination classroom was being talked about when it's still in that season. ( this is just a paraphrase from someone on the internet that told me this )
First time I was introduced to the idea of metaverse. Forgot its name but had to google it to find again. Weird feeling. 10 years. Time flies.

Ever since I saw this as a kid it has lived rent free in my head, only able to remember small clips every so often. now I can rest.
This movie holds such a strong message and has a very good plot

Never turn your back on family, even when they hurt you. Never let life get the better of you. And if you remember nothing else, remember to find time to eat together as a family, even when times are rough; especially when times are rough. There's no lack of painful things in this world, but hunger and loneliness must surely be two of the worst. Thanks to you, my precious family, I didn't know a moment of either of those the last ninety years.

If you would even want to intoduce your family to anime I feel like this is the movie I'd choose. Something for everyone.

I'm little bit surprised that trailer almost ignors Oz (tho it looks cool and interesting) and focuses on what is really important in this film and reallity

I need to check out this film because I loved Belle so much when I watched it in theaters.
I was trying to remember Belle I watched this today and remembered scenes of Belle just not the name 😔😅 Great Movie.
This reminds me i used to watch any random animes that i found. Nowadays i just pick based on genre that i like. I enjoyed it but somehow it feel like a chores and make it less fun.
Reminded of Digimon and so many other movies.

When I look at the movie poster, I thought it's like a family movie, about gadget obsessed kids 💻🎮🖱️, their parents forcing them take a trip to country to avoid tech world and start face the real world😂, eating contest, track and field 🏃🏻♂️ like a carnival theme or something
When I watched the whole movie, 😦 I never thought of..... Actual war, cyber hack terrorized the whole system 😈🎮🚦🚗🚧🚋🚢🎢🏟️😨
Even a bomb that gonna hit Japan or a military rocket looking, better if I called it a bomb 😅☄️💣

So, without context, the trailer switches from comedic "I pretend to be a boyfriend" to "I must save the world via cyperspace" xD
(Ok, the movie does it also, but at least they are building up in the movie^^')

Trailer gives the movie away... Shame, because it's an absolutely fantastic movie, one of the best animated one i've seen. Mamoru Hosoda is a legendary director, and this might just be my favorite movie of him.

Lol so much better actually. This trailer doesn't even remotely show what the movie is about. But I can also see what you say because the director of this directed the 2000 Digimon movie
@@Alexanderthegreat159 I mean I've seen both, and not only are the plots very similar but there are even some shot-for-shot homages to Digimon in Summer Wars. It's not just "oh they had the same director" energy, and the animation style is practically identical between the two.
