    I see a lot of guys making assumptions on the CV axle angles. The pre-load spacer helps the suspension from over extending by not shifting the strut down further, the top spacer however is a question on how much it drops the strut down. You'll lose some articulation and more likely to top out on the strut.

    • @highaltitudetrucks
      @highaltitudetrucks  Před 3 lety +1

      Truck has been great with no issues since we built it. Its also an f150 so no need for extra articulation when it isn't designed for rock crawling.

    Great video, very informative and really shows why a real shop with the right tools can do a great job on the install. I do wonder if it's worth doing a spacer kit vs say a BDS or Zone 4" lift kit. What is the cost difference with install?

Now in the beginning of this video when your explaining all the parts the part you touched and said this is our hardware is actually the carrier bearing drop bracket and needs to be installed if you have the 2 piece drive shaft setup

    Ok. I have watched this video 1000 times LOL! It is by far the best video when it comes to installing this kit. I do however have a question I hope you can answer! I have the Levelling kit in my f-150 ( just the top inserts) When we installed it, instead of putting the strut into a bench vice, we just rotated the top hat using a spring compressor... That way the "ready lift out" is pointing out. Now I am going to install this kit... Do you recommend I put the top hat back to stock and change the angle like you did in this video with the bench vice or just leave the top hat because it's already set to "Ready lift out"?

    • @highaltitudetrucks

    Do you know how much firmer it changes the spring rate on the struts? Can you show a video before and after of the truck going over a speed bump? While off-roading how hard is it on topping out on the struts in terms of shorten life/blowing out?

      @highaltitudetrucks  Před 3 lety

      I don't have any videos of it before but it rides great! The truck belongs to a customer so I cant make other videos with it unless it comes back. If you are looking for an offroading vehicle I would look into a jeep or a bronco.

    I had this kit installed on my 2014 4wd f150. made the ride quality really bad for my liking. On pa roads, bigger bumps would lock my seat belt due to the impact of the pumps. My gas mileage went from 600 miles to empty to 480 miles till empty. (16mpg to 13mph). CV angles were terrible. For an everyday drive veichle I would not recommend, I've since had the kit taken off

I saw you use the forged steel vice to change the angle of the lower strut bolts. Is that an alternative to the 180 deg rotation? Also, could you move the right strut to the left and the left to the right side?

      Cv angles are also differ depending on what tire you run. This kit is geared toward more on road use. And for ppl that don't want a big lift and want to cut and drill frame. If your beating the hell out of your newer f150 im sure you want something different and have money to spend for a 4 to 6 inch lift or you don't care about your truck in general because truck is 40k plus. Theres actual Ford dealers that sell these lift and install them as well. I would rather throw this on than a RC 3 inch. But anyways to each his own. Dont knock the kit it is what it is. If your using your 4wd or off reading yes go up to a 4 inch or 6 inch lift
