krokus was really good in the early eighties. jumped on a bunch of opening slots for major acts on their big tours for some nice exposure. built up a decent fan following or rock lovers who love their hard edged and straight forward sound. then they really blew it in the mid eighties trying to do the def leopard/whitesnake pop rock thing to get more fans. except they lost all the fans they already had and didn't gain any cause they just blended in with everything else and became forgettable. but metal rendezvous-headhunter was good times for them. Bands like saxon and accept made the same mistake of going softer to, but they came back to the hard sound with a vengeance in the early 90s. feel like krokus tried to also, but it was too little too late at that point.
That's a damn good write-up. I am/was a huge KroKus fan back in he early '80s. I came in around the Metal Rendez-vous album. Loved the follow ups of Hardware and One Vice------. Headhunter is where they peaked. Great album with commercial success but I liked the earlier ones better. I do like their cover of "American Woman". A helluva lot better than Lenny Kravitz's version. Heck I even like it better than the original by The Guess Who. Seen them twice back then and got to see them at a small venue in Las Vegas back in 2015. Awesome show.
