Anyone else has a problem in actually keep updating these kind of productivity apps? Like my brain gets bored or overwhelmed after a while
yep. one thing that has *actually* been a life changer for me is accepting that due to my adhd, new is always the best, so i try not to be down on myself when a system stops working. i just move on and maybe one day ill get back into it. it sucks bc it makes you overwhelmed w the systems you have but it is what it is.
@@tsuki3752I'm trying to accept the same thing, but also identifying to what system I return when the old/new shiny is not shining anymore
yeah same. i opnly could stick to onenote for the study notes and all other random notes for "google keep". also for productivity, i can stick to "fabolous" and "clarify adhd" and almost all google apps. google calendar and google tasks are my mind maps and are like to do's and all over my main page/and side page on my phone
@@tsuki3752 aaaa same! I used notion for a whole one year and it was perfect but then I started hating it out of nowhere and turn into google calendar, and sometimes when google calendar doesn't work I go back to notion for simple to-do lists and when those doesn't work I create a silly excel sheet where I organize projects and then repeat, just jumping through different apps. You will also find a whole project organized on paper from time to time lol. When I accepted this it actually got better! Tired of this app? don't push it, just jump to the one you feel like using that day haha
I saw a post in a similar vein that went like "why is - the best method to help with sticking to a schedule - regularly taking a pill every day at the same time" hah
honestly i downloaded notion as a productivity app and then i got distracted & just used it for planning my daydream worlds and creative stuff im working on (which works INSANELY WELL i have everything organized so well im so happy with it, i definitely reccomend it for this kinda use)
yeah to me notion works best as a digital notebook. any time i try to implement some type of daily system i never keep up with it
omg these are so helpful! I get so overwhelmed with notion & all its bottomless hole of disorganized functions that I look at my to-do lists there then just close my screen😭😭
it's a common experience unfortunately 😅
I saw google calendar crossed out on the thumbnail and was like “what could be better than google calendar?”😂 you got me
MY BRAIN IS SO HAPPY ABOUT XTILES
As I was watching I was thinking “I’ve sunk so much time into Notion, I’m definitely not going to be convinced by this…” and by the end of her explanation I’m sat here thinking this is going to solve SO many of my issues 😭❤️
Can't trust a paid promotion
@@ToniSturrs Saaame! I was ready to be mad because I've also even bought her big Notion template but now I'm like 🤔
see now this is GENUINELY better than notion coz notion is such an overwhelming mindfuck for someone whose attention span is less than that of a hummingbird so xTiles is a great alternative for me
wonderful recommendation. Thank you!
Oh my icarus. Literally jaw on the floor, mind blown by xtile. I have been banging my head against the notion brick wall way too many times and getting way too frustrated with it, but xtile clearly was built with classic bullet journaling in mind. Thank you so so much for bringing this to my attention!
it’s so fluidddd, gahhhhh
i haven’t created new notion pages in a long time, but i do thing you can “reference” a calendar and put it in the same page as another calendar, i think they call it backlinking
I love these suggestions. I do find for my neurospicy brain notion works the best, but I will definitely be checking some of these up for various things!
I still love Notion!! But totally understand it's overwhelming for some people heh
I love Notion but I spend more time designing databases than I do being productive.
I love your new video format so much, with a kind of slice-of-life introduction and inserts to them. Thank you for this video!!

Thanks for making a video about productivity apps for people with ADHD. I've tried a lot of productivity apps but it can be hard to find ones that work well for me. It seems like a lot of people liked the video and were excited about the suggestions you made, especially xTiles. I definitely agree with them, your recommendations are the best.
I'm honestly so grateful for this. thank you for your transparency and insights!!
I could cry from relief from this. Thank you.
oh my god i love ur editing style!! :D
That boost feature is very alluring to me... It's super useful for me to visually distinguish different types of information for different purposes, the more novel the difference the better, almost like the digital equivalent of having different bedrooms for different settings. So, being able to set and have different colors and especially font feels really cool for something like web tabs.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Yes absolutelyyy! I'm such a sucker for anything customizable in my digital space. Like you said, it helps with context switching and just feels more fun and novel overall. 🤓
You have such a great way of distilling information into CZcams video form. Great video ☺️

Thank you for the recommendations! Will def check out Arc and Aki. They seem really helpful.
Omg THANK YOU so much for these recommendations! I’m so overwhelmed from chrome interface, from notion list of functions, from the visuals in google calendar and I just feel only stressed when I go to it. Arc is awesome browser, I definitely try other apps for sure!
I hope at least one sticks for you!!
Hey Wesley, didn't know you had ADHD. I was diagnosed recently and I also had purchased your Notion template AND even used it for awhile. But you're right it gets overwhelming very fast for ADHD brains so I abandoned it as it seems too complicated. You mentioned how you try to keep your Notion clean. I would LOVE to see a video of how you use it nowadays. Thanks for all the awesome content! 💗
Ahh I’m sorry you had that experience! If you ever need some hand holding feel free to bug me on IG or via email 😊 but yes that’s a great idea, i may dig more into some simplifying videos in the future
Super seconding this! I also have ADHD and also purchased the template. I went so far as to add a lot of my projects and notes there, but I definitely went overboard and overwhelmed myself. Now I only open it to keep track of my wishlist and video games I'm playing. 🥲
Would also love to see how Wesley uses it nowadays!
Routinery is taking my notion organized life to the next level! Thank you!!
"and one of them isn't notion" I just subscribed
love your videos!honestly, i feel like notion isn't working for me it feels really frustrating and im literally just using google docs, slides, sheets! haha
anyhow, i enjoy your notion videos and as far as ive watched this one, its going great!
Notion can be SO fun to customize, but the friction is real! It's certainly not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with using multiple apps for different things, so don't feel bad if you want to give other tools a try. :)
Your room looks awesome ❤
I absolutely love Arc! Been using them since beta mode on Mac
i love this content! will try em all out!!!
Such a lovely video, thank you!!
Thank you for your very well-done video. I am very excited to check out X-Tiles! I just eat up info on being more productive and organized...and I am still working on getting myself there! 😂 I just found your channel and you have a new subscriber! ☺
Yay! I hope you like it. Organization is a journey for most so don't feel like you have to have it all figured out!!
I definitely will give x tiles a try. I was interested in trying notion, but after seeing how simple x tiles was, I don't think I'll even bother with notion. Great video!
I think Raindrop and aki flow are the only useful one for people with ADHD, though it really depends on how you organize yourself and the uuuhh shiny factor.
Thanks, these will help!
Glad the algorithm showed me this video! 😂 Subscribed after hearing we got a lot of the same ADHD probs (time blindness is my worst enemy)
xTiles looks like the perfect app to manage multiple projects at a time (Im that type of neurospicy lol) I will give it a try!!! actually all the apps here are perfect picks, great job!! subscribed.
Pd: Sadly I have windows 10 and Arc only supports windows 11 😭I dont want to update because theres still things that microsoft have to figure out for windows 11, oh well
these were so cool!!
Lovely video~ I wonder if there is anything similar to Akiflow or Sunsama (which I saw in the comments) but without the API integration piece? I love the calendar + task management interface. I can't get into Google's Tasks and Reminders. I just *hate* them for some reason.
You could review habitica too, its so so so good and gelped keep me on track
Thanks for the video. I really like the content. Your presentations are really good. Clear audio. Well spoken and well crafted. Thank you.
I use Sunsama, but have been toying with the idea of using Akiflow in place of Sunsama. I trialed Akiflow, but that was a number of years ago and no doubt it has changed since that time. Obviously you use Akiflow. Have you tried Sunsama and if so, can you elaborate on the differences?
Sunsama does more handholding (they have a lot of features to prevent you from overloading) whereas Akiflow is a bit more…agnostic? Also I believe the integrations/mobile app/time blocking are better in Akiflow. Just depends on the vibe you’re going for :)
I just want to say thank you for this video.
The Arc and Raindrop combo might be just what I am looking for - I was trying to create a knowledge hub in Notion and it just isn't resonating right with me- and I keep really wanting to love Notion and make it work for me, but nothing seems to be resonting!
Yeeeahh I feel like bookmarks + general knowledge management is kinda clunky in Notion 😅
Such a great video! I love hearing about new or unknown apps. Support local small businesses-sort of thing 😊 But, I’m also extremely interested in your ADHD-friendly Notion deep dive (I must have missed your last video tbh, since I was on a social media cleanse, so this is the first time I’m hearing of it!), so take your time, love your content 😊
I'm so excited to share it in the coming months!! It's been such a fun project to work on so far
What a nice radish plushie 🤣
I have the cutest production team 😮💨
I love Notion, it's so easy to use and make things look good, its functions are very useful for organization. But the problem is me, I spend a lot of time making it look pretty and then I rarely open it... So it turns out to not be that useful to me 😢
pikachu plushie? 😍😍now i know why i was guided to watch your video.
raindrop my beloved❤
9:37
There is a notion calender which solve this problem and you can build this in notion but it will not be the best thig
The absolute best solution for me has been The Bullet Journal method from Ryder Carrol❤
Arc sounds interesting (I use vertical tabs already on other browsers), but not available on Windows 10. And I guess Windows 10 will reach EoL before they can support it.
plese make more videos of xtiles!!
include todo mate in the next one please, i'm audhd and i've been using it consistently for over a year or two, and that says something
i'll look into it!
hihi can you share your xtiles template? its so pretty!
It’s by @studiocherii!
Awesome video! I'm a capacities girl but xtiles looks interesting. I was already looking at ARC and raindrop but haven't started with either. My tabs are on the side tho, its a feature that can done in most browsers at least the chromium ones.
I've been so curious about capacities!! I think object-oriented structures work better with my brain (I keep looking at Obsidian for the same reason) but I don't know if I'd switch unless they develop a huge edge over Notion, like offline mode. Do you have specific features that draw you to it over other apps?
Also had no idea that vertical tabs are a feature in Chrome. Very cool!
Not to tempt you with a rabbit hole, but Obsidian does have an offline mode…but a learning curve that is equal or worse than Notion’s. It also has a canvas that reminds me a lot of Xtiles (as far as I can see, I’ve resisted the urge to try it out UNTIL YOUR VIDEO GEE THANKS A LOT. Well, ok, seriously, thanks a lot. Rather than hijack @porschaWrites comment, I’ll leave the rest for my own comment.
@@creativegray I was already tempted by Obsidian 😂 I like offline first. I just spent so much time trying to make sense of Notion I wasn't ready to commit to another steep learning curve. I think because capacities is working for me I can explore Obsidian without pressure to quickly build a system.
@@WesleyAnna I like capacities because its powerful but not completely from scratch there are a few categories already done for you. You can keep them or scrap them but it made starting a bit easier for me.
I also like the daily note feature. I often come across an article or site I'd like to keep for reference but I don't have a page for it yet I can put it in my daily note and tag it.
@@PorschaWrites I started playing with capacities more and love the daily note as well! I tried creating something similar in Notion but you can’t as easily create pages in databases (it takes a few extra steps)
Damn i wish i knew more about xtiles before spending so much time on Notion 😢
I dint think i had adhd i always thought im normal and i will be able to work hard like other people but when it comes to actually doing the tasks doing in the day i procrastinate even if i have enough motivation even if i want to do it willingly, i cant concentrate in simple tasks, after i got to know about adhd disorders everything started to make sense why things were the way they are for me. I wish i was normal.
Normal is boring, the trick is finding out how to make what makes you different into a good thing instead of trying to fit into someone else's "normal" box
i started using arc last month..but it sometime has a loading problem...so i come back to chrome...do you have that loading issue?
Haven’t had any issues like that
Anna, i was wondering if you know of any apps that can solely be used & customised on the phone e.g. customising notion on the phone is almost impossible, but since you know of many apps im assuming you might know one for phone, if you do, please let me know!
What type of app are you looking for specifically? Taking notes, task management, routines, etc.?
@@WesleyAnna task management & taking notes
@@marypotter_gryffindor For tasks you can go with any of the popular ones like clickup, todoist, etc. Honestly most apps with a speciality function will work better on mobile since the devs have more control over the layout than the user (unlike in notion). For notes, if you want simple + offline capabilities (and you're iOS) you honestly can't go wrong with apple notes!
I need a camera tour please.
video idea 👀
OH I HEARD SOMETHING ONCE ABOUT TIME MANAGEMENT IS USING SECONDS TO MEASURE HOW LONG YOU HAVE INSNTEAD OF MINUTES LIKE 5 minutes, thats a lot of time but 300 seconds?? not long at alllll :))
Try out xTiles for free! xtiles.app/en?fp_ref=wesley52
I thought this was at least a year old video because some of the things you said confused me about Notion. Like you can definitely have the contents of two different calendars/database in one space it’s called the Notion calendar..
Notion calendar is a different app though 😅
Did you make up "neuro-spicy"? Because I would like to borrow it :D
I wish I could take credit ahaha but no it’s a fairly common term! Use away 😊
I’m reviewing the apps as I’m watching the video. 😅
Wesley we need ya

i think xtiles doesnt work in my region....
Ah no! Where are you from?
@@WesleyAnna Russia. i tried using vpn and everything worked well tho
They’re a Ukrainian company, not sure if that’s related 👀
My ADHD doesn't like technology lol
So true. I prefer to keep my notes and to-do’s on paper
you look like Aya Shalkar
Uhm... So I recently got diagnosed w/ ADHD
and I kid you not
I started this video and instantly changed tabs and forgot I was meant to be listening to the words ToT whoops
I think its object oriented programming, OOP
ty! major brain fart heh 😅
The thing most helped me with being organized was Literally an actual calendar 🗓️, that and a wall board
Never supporting this predatory garbage
Can you elaborate
