    Just as a side note, this store chain exists in Serbia since 2020 and prices are very affordable since ever.

      @@paravan2000 That is fine, you have your right to have opinion. What is even more insulting is a fact that people NEED this shop which is cheap and affordable. Its related to living standard, politics etc, which I dont want to discuss. Its important that shop exists, and that people can go there, even in those times. If people dont want or need to go there, its also OK.

      @@SergeiKarpov024 ni jedan lanac supermarketa ne prodaje visoko kvalitetnu robu,za to postoje specijalizovane radnje.Meni je bitno da je slatko trenutno kada imam potrebu za slatkisima tako da mi nije bitan kvalitet u tom trenutku😀

    Serbian name for this chain is СВЕТОФОР, sounds like russian name also. But, some stores was under name MERE, some СВЕТОФОР. In my vilage region, we have one store, named СВЕТОФОР.

      I thought Serbian name is Mere. In Russia in fact they also call it Светофор. From what I know there is no mere in Russia. As well the quality of products here are even better than in Russia. Usually people consider Светофор low quality in Russia. But everything I bought here was really high quality. Maybe since they export that, they send the best to Serbia. :)

      @@halfrussian It is not like the products they sell is low quality - they just cut corners on everything - locations with cheapest rent, most simplistic renovation (if any), low wages and of course tax evasion (they registered as separate small businesses, not as a chain). In theory they buy quality goods and supposed to store these under recommended conditions. So if we speak about customer service, then yes - it is low quality. Goods they sell - most likely safe.

      There are two Russian supermarkets in Serbia, Mere and Svetofor. They are NOT the same.

    Pre mesec dana u Velikoj Plani je otvoren market. prijatno sam iznenadjen cenama. Otvaranjem ovog Ruskog marketa DIS (koji je inace iz nase opstine) je napokon dobio konkurenciju!

      Yeah, try it. But please not the one I bought. Try to find Новосадский. Or the one made by Russian recipe. Or made in Russia. That's should be the real Квас. It should have a little taste of beer.

      The real kvas is only "hand made". Read the ingredients before buying. You will be upset.

      Halva in this shop is one of the poorest I ever tried. Way below the level of Turkish, Greek or even Serbian made halvas.

    Most of the items seem cheap, but the quality of many is close to an insult. Items for personal hygiene are basically useless garbage, so I felt almost as being ripped off.

    the only question is the quality,
    in EU you have ratings from A to D, and the price is reduced if the quality of product is low if we are talking about meat and similar things, if we are talking about ice cream even the one with the worst ratings can cost 5-10e, nobody is eating ice cream to be healthy but it is nice that rating exist and you can at least have some knowledge of what you are eating

    honey for that price is definetly not honey maybe 20% and 80% sugar,there was oficial resarch and most of honey in serbia is fake so if you want real honey 8eu or more you will pay for it :)

      Jeste jeftinije, ali je kvalitet većine artikala užasan. Naprimer, korisno: maslinovo ulje, solidan kvalitet, cena duplo jeftinija od Lidla i Maxija. Beskorisno: sredstva za ličnu higijenu - gelovi za tuširanje su doslovno smeće.

    03:42 my last cooment, i do not want to spam. This is RAFINED OLIVE OIL, it price are ussualy goes up from 5 up to 8 euros in Serbia. Actually, this is LOW QUALITY RAFINED OLIVE OIL(KOMINA=maked of leftowers of olive oil producing process). REAL NATURAL OLIVE OIL=VIRGINE OLIVE OIL costs ussualy from 13 up to 20 euros in Serbia, depends of country of origins and factory. In hipermarket in my vilage, VERY GOOD italian VIRGINE OIL costs 1500 serbian dinnars, i like it a lot also it fixes my liver problems a lot. FULL RECOMENDATION for OLIVE OIL but remmeber VIRGINE OLIVE OIL, not RAFINED. RAFINED si almost like SUNFLOWER by qualithy. It little bit heathlier but nothing special. Sorry becaue of awful english writing.

      I understand. I'm not that knowledgeable in olive oils. But I'm sure that the real natural is much better. By the way in Algeria I've seen olive trees. I think they don't grow here. Or they do?

      1500 serbian dinars, it si something like 10 euros.But it is a old price. New price will be probably over 1700.

      Olive tree don't grow in Serbia, but it grow in Montenegro and Croatia.
      Mozda je devicansko maslinovo ulje najpovoljnije u Superveru ( grcki lanac).

      I always buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I don't deep fry so it's ok. Sometimes I buy grapeseed oil. I find that the Greek olive oil is the best.

      It should be very little. Like when People in Russia drive it's better to not drink it, because of the test of the police. But it's much less than beer. Maybe 1% of alcohol. Sometimes more if it's home made.

    СВЕТОФОР and LIDL competes for lwer prices in Serbia. I do not like to shop in both of chains. SVETOFOR because all stores looks like FLEA MARKET, LIDL because they do not have serbian goods. Also, LIDL stores also looks like.. i can not describe but i do not like to shop there. I do not have favoritiet chain to shop i ussually shop in small local stores. Sometimes in DIS, just because they sell cheap MEDICAL WATER(water from SPA RESORTS). Like PROLOM VODA.

      Lidl is far from cheap anymore ,at least here in Kragujevac is one the more expensive ,i only buy there when something is on sale ,when its not on sale is much more expensive then on local chain "Trnava promet"

    Why is the name of the shop and accompanied text in Latin? Is it Ukrainian script?

      Latin and Cyrillic alphabet are equals in Serbian language. So it is a regular thing one shop use Cyrillic, next one Latin, it is basically free choice of individuals or companies. And accompanied text is in Serbian - "low prices every day - niske cene svaki dan".

      according to the latest polls, 97% of Serbs write in Vuk's Serbian Latin, Serbian Bulgarian Cyrillic made by Ciril and Methodius is used by only 3% of people in Serbia, Cyrillic goes here very soon in past, same like Old Slavic Church language, Glagolitic, Proto Slavic language... as some archaic language. ..

      @@x-man4966 not true, basically in 90% of formal education (from elementary to university) or any document with state institutions cyrillic is used dominantly. And even in everyday life its far from 3%, it is used less than latin but more like 30% and its all to individual choice, and as i said if you have it predominantly in formal education it will never go extinct. And Serbian Cyrillic is not Bulgarian Cyrillic, Vuk Karadžić made our own variant according to Serbian language.

      @@halfrussian they are different stores, Mere and Svetofor, you can't have same store with different name. I don't know if owners are the same for both but except for having Russian products they go under different name and branding. Also i noticed Mere usually build its own building, while Svetofor always rent some space inside already existing building, so they also have different approach with that.

    If I had a magical portal I would go to a Russian supermarket every day. Its not just because of the inexpensive products, but the women are so friendly and beautiful. Tell the chain to make a store close to the border with Croatia, it would be the only reason for Croatians to come to Serbia if they survive the trip back without getting killed or beaten.

      Very stupid and mean remark, first of all Croats crossing border with Serbia all the time for shopping, especially those one who live near, and further chance to be beaten in Serbia if you are Croat is 1:500 000 and chanse to be beaten or something else in Croatia if you are Serb is 1:100

    You have a LOT of rich people, your oligarchs. You don't invest in Serbia. To have a store, is nothing. You should have stores and you should open factories. China and the EU have done this. Only Russia doesn't want to invest in Serbia. You invest even in Croatia, but not in Serbia.

      Procitaj pazljivije sta sam napiso, u Rusiji ne koristi GMO toliko mnogo kao u Kini ili Indiji. Toliko mnogo znaci vise od 90%, a neke kulture , kao soja i 100%. Sta mislis, zasto je uprkos sankcijama navala na rusku psenicu, a zaobilaze kanadsku i americku, upravo zbog GMO.
