- This wreath is gorgeous, a Pinterest triumph!
Supplies:
5 rolls of yellow 10in deco mesh (Hobby Lobby)
1 roll of green 10in deco mesh
1 foam ball, cut in half
Brown Paint (FolkArt, Raw Umber)
2 packs of brown pom poms (Hobbly Lobby)
Yellow Pipe Cleaners
16in frame
E6000 glue
E6000 glue spray
Paperclips or floral pins
Keep in mind that I didn't use the entire roll of mesh, to keep the petals less curly.
I learned SO MUCH MORE watching your tutorial!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching.
Stunning 🎉 Love the way you design your petals and create your center ❤
Love the flower, and the pom pom center.
You made it look so easy. Thanks for sharing this. Very beautiful and full. I really like how you did the center too.
Thank you, it turned out much better than I expected. Thanks for watching.
This is beautiful and much easier than the other ones I have seen. Thanks so much
Great! Thanks for watching.
Cool great idea with the pom poms for sunflower center
Beautiful. Love it. Excellent tutorial. Glad I found your channel that uses deco mesh to make this. Just have to buy a 10in frame. Thanks for listing the supplies.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video.
I really enjoyed watching your video and you showing exactly how the petals are put together and put on and for NOT taking and hour and a half to do it! (to make the video) Ugh! I feel I miss a lot on other videos.. because I can't sit and listen to everything some of these people talk about- on and on and on! You were informative, to the point and interesting. Thank you SO much! And it turned out beautiful! I love the all yellow as well. Happy wreathing!! :)
Yay...glad you liked the video and found it useful. Thanks for watching.
Love this! Thank you Jen! You’re an angel!
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video.
I just love watching this lady she is awesome
awww...thanks. Glad you like the video
Hiya. ..I have looked at a few tutorials and yours was the best at explaining how to do this....I truly enjoyed it...I loved the pom poms center...and how you used the paper clips to fasten the center....great job!...I will try your method 😊💜
Thank you so much, glad you have enjoyed the videos.
i thought at first it was going to look cheap using that more like material mess other than the coarser mess, but nope. it is beautiful... Great Job! Good idea using the pompoms too. very pretty! thanks for sharing.
Thanks, I gifted this to a friend and she LOVES it, too. thanks for watching
BEAUTIFUL!! 👏👍💖
Thank you
I love sunflowers gonna have to make this one
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching :)
Hi Jen, this is beautiful and you explained yourself beautifully, I'm in the process of making this one. Wish me luck. 😁
Good luck! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for teaching us.
thanks for watching
Beautiful
Lovely, Jen, that was a great idea with the plastic cross stitch mat, ( all the way to the edge of the center of the wreath) . Those large frames have a Huge center opening. This totally eliminated that open space ..Thanks, again : )
Glad you liked the video, thanks for watching
Joann's sells round plastic cross stitch grids that work well for this project.
I've never made a wreath and I think this is going to be my first attempt! I have a friend that loves sunflowers, so I'm going to attempt this for her (and another for her cousin if the first comes out good), then a third one for my brother and new sister-in-law. I hope I'm not biting off more than I can chew! wish me luck!
Good luck, and thanks for watching.
Beautiful u taught me alot
Great! Thanks for watching
Its just gorgeous Jen!!! I'm in the process of starting one. I want it to be red, white and blue so I think I will eliminate the green for the leaves. I'm going to do it on a 12 inch wreath form. I hope it comes out ok. 😀😀😀
Thank you! I was really surprised how well it came out.
Good luck on your wreath...such a great idea to do red, white, and blue.
That's awesome, I'd love to see it. Gemstonesandjen@gmail.com
Thank you i love it i will be making one
Great! Have fun!
Jen was the mesh you used for the petals a tightly
woven deco mesh? It’s so much more fluffy than the one I used
Jen,
I just discovered your video while searching for a way to make decorations for an event. Your wreath is beautiful, and exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to make several of them, but on a 10 inch wreath frame. What size do you think the petals should be for this adjustment?...and how far apart should I space the petals?
Many thanks!
Thanks for watching. I think that cutting the petals at 8in. would work great. As far as placing them, every 1in would look nice.
Hi Jen. I'm so inspired! Just ordering my supplies to make this. May I ask what size brown pompoms you used? Also, the grid you used, I just found this plastic canvas on Joanns website. This stiff 12 x 18 inch sheet is $1.59.
Edie-Jane Clarke the pompoms were about some size. Thanks for watching
Hi again. I mean are they 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch??
They were the 3/4in.
LOL....I just read what I wrote earlier. "some size" was to be dime size...sorry . That's too funny
I absolutely love your creations!! I was just wondering if you think it could be done using 6” mesh??
Thank you, I tried to make one using the 6in mesh and a smaller frame....it DID NOT look nearly as pretty as this one. Good Luck
Thanks for sharing. New subbie.
Awesome, glad you liked the video!
its needlepoint mesh. hobby lobby by the embroidery floss.
Thanks for the tip.
Nice thanks
Thank you too!
thank you for replying back I have another question. How would you do with 3 mesh where you bend in half like you did with the 2 mesh, thank you
I think alternating colors would work best. The petals wouldn't lay flat with 3 colors in the bundle.
Thanks for watching.
Thank you I justed finished my first sunflower wreath
Hi Jen I missed it but what size mesh and how many do you use for this wreath. thank you can't wait for your reply, it was done beautifully
Thanks for watching, I used 5 rolls of 10in mesh.
It is called plastic canvas and you should be able to buy 1 sheet at a time
Great tutorial. I don't know if anyone asked this yet, but what size foam ball did you use, and what size/how many pompoms did it take to cover it? Thanks for your help.
I'm not sure of the exact size, but you'll know when you go to pick one up. They were either too small, too big, or just right (LOL). The pom poms were the medium size and I bought 2 small packages. Hope this helps, thanks for watching.
What size foam ball? By the way, when adding a foam ball in the center of your flower wreaths, how do you determine size?
Thanks for watching. The foam ball was 4". I choose a ball that was medium sized, my store only had three sizes: too small, too big, and just right...LOL
Nice Video and Walmart has that Deco Mesh in All Colors for $4 and Dollar tree also has the mesh and the Wire Wreaths for $1
Yes, they do. I'm thinking of doing another one in blue/purples using the Walmart mesh. For these wreaths, I like the bigger frame, but you could use the DT frame for a smaller version. Thanks for watching.
@@LosingItWithJen First I'm going to Apologize for Telling you about Walmart DecoMesh bcuz i Just Opened The Package that it was in and and Unrolled it and Ugh!!🤦🏽♀️ it Frayed!! All Over The Place and Then i Cut it With The Hot Knife and No Matter How I cut it It Frays!! Like Crazy!! So Please Dont Waste Your Dollars on That Cheap Ass Walmart DecoMesh
Zip ties work the best and use a wood burner to cut it
Thanks for the tip
Needle point grid
Jen I am new to this and i love this tutorial you explained it well.Love sunflowers and am trying this out could you please tell me where you got the brown pom poms cant find them any where thanks and btw hope my sunflower turns out as beautiful as your seem like I am all fingers lol
Thanks for watching. I got the brown pom poms at Hobby Lobby.
It's called plastic canvas mom used it and made calendars and mats
Great video, ty, and it's called plastic canvas 😉
Thank you :)
I'd really like to know you spray it with? what exactly? And why are you spraying it? I'm assuming your spraying after completed or do you do along the way? If spraying with adhesive what other types beside E6000? I live in BC canada & have never heard of E6000. thank you for sharing - great job BTW
Thank you for watching. I sprayed it when finished with Elmer's Spray Adhesive. Spraying helps the mesh not to fray.
Hi Jen, i cant wait to make thos! Could you tell me approximately how many do you put in each section?
I started off putting 5-6 in each section, but as I went along I eyeballed it. As I got closer to the center, I used 3-4 bundles in each section.
I started with 6 per section, and added randomly to fill in for fullness.
Onde posso comprar pronto?
How many yellow petals oer section?how many petals (yellow) total?
You didn't say what tow uou out yhe yellow on?row 1?2?
Jen I’d like to send you a picture of the wreath I made using your instructions, it turned out pretty good. Is there a way I can send it to you?
Awesome, I'd love to see it. gemstonesandjen@gmail.com
How can they be stored without damage for the next time I want to use it
I store mine in Xlarge garbage bags. I lay them flat on a shelf.
ابداع جميل جدا أحببتها وانتي اجمل 😍
Hello, I just made this sunflower wreath and it came out gorgeous.. I am so in love! Sunflowers are my favorite flower! I was wondering what size wire wreath I would use if I wanted to make it a bit smaller? I would still be using the 10 inch mesh. Thank you
I would go with the next size down, a 14in frame. Thanks for watching.
I wish this video had captions. Captions would be great for those who cannot hear. 😭
Beautiful but expensive to make.
Hola cuál es la medida aproximadamente de cada corte de malla??
HOW MANY PETALS DO YOU THON YOU USED?🌻👍❤👍😁👍
Where do ypu get the plastic grid?
I got mine at Walmart, but any craft store will have it too. It's called "plastic canvas". Usually found with the needle point items.
Hi Jen, im making my first flower wreath like your doing, do you cut pipe cleaners in half when affixing petals, and how do you not cut yourself with rotary cutter. I got my plastic canvas at Hobby Lobby an was only 79cents for a round 9 1/2" circle!!!
Yes, I cut the pipe cleaners. LOL...you know I've never cut myself once, but you are not the first person who has been concerned :)
Hi, could you please share how many total rolls of yellow you used?
By the way your wreath is very very beautiful thanks for the tutorial!
I used 5 rolls of 10in yellow mesh. Thanks for watching.
What size are the mesh squares cut?
Can you hang this wreath outside? due to spray glue....help
I would avoid direct sunlight, but on a porch would be fine.
Hobby Lobby carries the needle point mesh for .69 a sheet.
Thanks for the info.
will go there...
great tut but try using gem tac instead of that nasty e6000 better for you and the environment
If you don't mind me asking but, what do you & others charge for something like this ???? Asking for a friend !!! LOL
I don't typically sell mine, but I would charge somewhere between 70-80 for this one.
Needlepoint grid
Thanks
that matt she uses for the center is plastic canvas
Yep, that's it. Thanks for the info
"
plastic canvas"
Thanks for sharing.
Poly burlap I like better
I do too! When I made this, I haven't discovered that product, yet. Thanks for watching
