- Chaplin was a perfectionist, but he wasn't always perfect. Check out these bloopers or outtakes from the sets of his films. Also, if you want to see me take you on a tour inside the Chaplin Studios (now Jim Henson Studios) in Hollywood, check it out here: • Jim Henson/Chaplin Stu... .
- Krátké a kreslené filmy
His natural laughing face is charming!
ikr
TIME42 Ikr
TIME42 - by all accounts he was an amazingly charming guy...
Hitler, a psycho.
Chaplin, a charmibg clown, the joy bringer
That's the difference.
I remember my mother loved Charlie Chaplin. It never occurred to me, after he showed up in my feed for whatever reason, that I could see all his work on CZcams, and couldn't stop watching. I was visiting my father, who is 90 years old, and has alzheimers, and asked if he remembered Charlie Chaplin. He said no. So I quickly brought up a picture of him on my phone and showed him. For me, the look on his face was priceless. He said, "Oh yeah!", with a smile and the look of someone remembering an old friend. Now I love Chaplin even more.
He was the greatest. Every time I'm sad, I watch one of his movies and I'm instantly smiling. That was his gift to the world. That's also why I have his silhouette tattooed on my arm with the quote "Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles." -Charlie Chaplin
Every time I look at it I feel better about my life.
i love him with all my heart
He was genius
Thanks For Sharing These Infos With Us About Charlie Chaplin!😂😅😊
Well said and well put !
I love the blooper at 1:02. I find it really hilarious for some reason to so Chaplin so angry at a ruined gag. Mark of a true perfectionist.
That one took me by complete surprise. I never thought of him as a person who could get that angry over a messed up gag. A true perfectionist indeed.
PointingMonkey actually, is not that surprising. I read his biography and he was known for being too perfectionist. He could make the same scene over and over again until he would like it.
Cami DF Yeah, I've heard he was a perfectionist before. But to see such an outburst from a man I've always thought of as having a very calm personality was what was shocking. It makes me feel better when I throw a tantrum when something I'm doing doesn't go right though. :-)
PointingMonkey haha totally get you
+Chris Luciantonio Film and filming must have cost a lot in those days for the revenue it generated.
0:26 this is the cutest smile ever! His genuine laugh is the most adorable thing. Gotta love Charlie
Its so weird seeing bloopers from the 1910s XD Man, I love Charlie Chaplin, and he has got the cutest smile lol
I certainly have a notion to second THAT emotion !
He's so cute! I love him. Adorable, adorable, adorable. That part when he jumped into the lady's arms! Lol!
he had such a beautiful smile
As I do when I take off my hat, you make a good point !
I had such a shameful (but not ashamed to admit it now!) crush on him as a kid. I would go to the library and secretly rent the vhs tapes of whatever movies they had of his. One time a couple of my friends were there and saw me standing in line with a whole mess of them (no self service checkouts yet). I was so embarrassed; pretended that I was getting 'em for moms lol. I STILL get the same giddy feeling whenever I see him :') It never went away.
That's so beautiful. He's very charming and cute❤ I like him a lot as the little tramp😍
3:00 one of the most sweetest moments in history.
Absolutely! I think Edna Purviance is criminally under famous. She needs a star on the Walk of Fame!
Edna Purviance she was so beautiful
@@alesabram3647 She was no Hope Emerson (hubba hubba!) but Edna was indeed one truly lovely lady!
I heartily concur !
I love how he smiles when he messes up :D
It really is quite endearing !
So handsome and quite a looker/ charmer. My Hero
He was no Huntz Hall, but Chaplin was indeed one good looking chap.
its so endearing when he would crack himself up n laugh into the camera all the legendary hype about him is 100% true
can't see the difference, blooper or final cut both funny
True, but all of the slapstick was carefully staged before hand. It's choreographed like in a dance. Chaplin started in vaudeville. It was all heavily rehearsed in advance. The reason was to be able to do the same stunt for two or three shows a day. It also protected the performer from injury. Stunt men train to fall and do other stunts with ease and do so without injury. So did Chaplin.
I read a biography about him that went into it in detail. Chaplin was amazing because he worked extremely long hours. He even demanded the same from his actors and crew. He was known to work his leading ladies to the point of physical and emotional exhaustion.
Today we can be grateful for his great art. So, rejoice in his comedy. Comedy heals people when they are sad and heart broken. It truly is great medicine.
@@chopin65YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT ABOUT CHARLIE CHAPLIN 😂😅😢😊😮
his laugh is actually the cutest thing i've ever seen
This is the cutest thing I've ever watched
his little laugh is the cutest thing!!
Its kind nice to just see Charlie laugh....not gimmick involved literally just Charlie laughing....
He's actually a good looking guy with out makeup and the stache
He not that bad looking with it either.
Yea I noticed that too. He was cute 😍
He is charmingly cute! 😍🥰
Charlie got angry during the revolving door because if you watch Unknown Chaplin it explains that he attempted to do the gag several times and during the blooper featured in the video he almost got it right but his cane got stuck in the door.
I like to watch this once a day.... gives me a much needed smile .... everyday. I love Charlie Chaplin, he was an amazing genius!!! There will never be anyone that could compare to him... RIP Charlie ~ you are legendary....
He Had a lovely smile, is a very handsome man
+Dayana “LovelyDayana” Jara Yes, oh he was so lovely looking. Many women fell for him and regretted it big style
Yes, bloopers and outtakes from the silent era are extremely rare. Chaplin had the good sense to preserve some of his stuff (particularly his films) in his archives. Most of this type of stuff was destroyed, but this footage was found a little over 20 years ago by some film historians who visited the Chaplin estate in Switzerland and discovered these outtakes. So far, these are the only ones that have been found or released to the public.
I'm surprised they actually kept this film from that time. bloopers weren't a thing then so you would assume they would have thrown this stuff away.
Maybe this was one of the few some producers kept?
I don’t think it was a distinct blooper reel originally, someone’s picked out the genuine bloopers from huge quantities of material he didn’t use in the finished product. (check out “Unknown Chaplin” documentary for the full story)
The fact he was in charge of everything in his films and had his own, very profitable studio, plus did many takes and took a long time with editing probably increased the likelihood of unused film surviving. It wasn't thrown away because he didn't throw it away.
His smile just lights up his whole face! How wonderful! Thank you for posting this.
this is heartwarming! :) I was named after his last wife, and finding these clips made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside
I like your name💜
So cute :') I wish they had one of these for Buster Keaton!!
yeah.
These outtakes are from Charlie Chaplin's Mutual period, 1916 - 1917, and Chaplin has stated that this fertile period [however brief] was among the happiest periods of his life. Chaplin may have kept these outtakes because the Mutuals were so important personally and professionally to him. They show the real beginning of his development as an artist and one of the geniuses of cinema.
This clip includes outtakes that I can recognize from "The Cure," "One A.M.," "The Pawnshop," "Behind The Screen," "The Count," and "The Adventurer." The pressure of fulfilling the Mutual contract--given the short time frame--must have been enormous. Chaplin wrote that during the making of these films that he'd often struggle with developing an idea or working out a gag, but that somehow, almost miraculously, the solution would come to him. In spite of the pace, you can see in these outtakes that Chaplin also had great fun making them. You can also see the wonderful camaraderie that Chaplin had with his fellow actors, including Edna Purviance, Eric Campbell, Albert Austin, Henry Bergman, and others.
The 12 two-reelers from Chaplin's Mutual period have been preserved with painstaking state-of-the-art care in the "90th Anniversary Edition - The Chaplin Mutual Comedies," by Image Entertainment, thanks to David H. Shepard.
+James Feldman watch his very first films and you'll see he hadn't quite got the knack of 'playing to the camera', a few reels later and he's well there!
god i wish i could hear his laugh on these bloopers... thank you for this video!
Delightful lil' dude, funny and deep at the same time.
i love his smile
I like that at 00:46 he's just like, "Yeah, pick that up." I always love bloopers, but Charlie Chaplin bloopers? Thanks so much for putting this up!
Aww this is so cute!! Love his laughing face 😍😍❤️
i love him with all my heart
Even though I am 14 and I watch a lot of action talkie movies ... In colour.. Charlie Chaplin is still one of my favourite actors... I love watching his movies
I've never thought I could find this on youtube !
thanks so much !
Am the only one who thinks that ( exept his talent and everything ) he is a very handsome man??
I can't get tired of this ! Made my day !
thanks !
he's handsome yeah
This is wonderful!! He is usually so perfect that you forget he's human and makes mistakes. It also gives you an idea of how many takes of these routines he must have done. Yeah, that first fall looks like it really hurt, and Chaplin seems like he'd only explode if he's the one that made the mistake. He'd never blow up at others. A genius and remarkable human being.
Chaplin was a genius and one of my faves. His movies are the best, his gentleness and easy laugh and quick smile were the mark of a true man. The quality on these bloopers is magnificent. Thank you for posting these.. didn't know they existed...lots of bloopers were not kept in the olden days even on TV..love these~ It's like uncovering King Tut's tomb of treasures...now if we could only find some of the lost Lon Chaney Sr movies! Also another man with a wonderful smile and incredibly fluid hands..his parents were both deaf mutes I believe so he had that grace which many an actor can only dream.
love it when he smiles or laughs, he had such a nice laugh
@2:56 to 3:04 😍💓Love the LAUGH and Chemistry, Edna and Sir Charlie Chaplin share with each other❤🙏
Ikr, they were a great pair
Edna was my first childhood crush ❤️, even though I grew up 40 years after she passed away. Such a beautiful lady.
He's so adorable, love him 4ever 💜
1:03 - So this is how he looks when he's in a rage. Very classy :D
Dude, this is so cool, It's amazing how this survived...
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Despite his reputation as a difficult director to work for, he did know how to have fun. I think there certainly was a balance between his antics and his frustrated outbursts. You can tell in a few of these takes that he was not having very much fun...nevertheless, it is a fascinating glimpse into his world of filmmaking. I wish there were more from his independent filmmaking period when he made all of his more famous features.
i love him with all my heart
His smile is so cute :D
The greatest actor, director, producer, musician, dancer and a fantastic human being ever.
68anu not very fantastic human being. He got mad when his girlfriend decided against an abortion. He was known to say to her : "Are you trying to populate Los Angeles?" He espoused communism yet he died a multimillionaire.
He is so beautiful
This is film history, not just bloopers! Thank you for posting this gem! He looks like some days he was having fun. I hope the crew was too. Thanks!
It’s hard to tell if he meant to do this or it’s part of the script! That’s why we love you Charlie! ❤️❤️
I love it when he gets mad
I love this so much. There's just something so great about seeing him crack up. I think we have those great classic stars immortalized to the point where they don't seem human anymore. Seeing Charlie Chaplin laugh and joke around reminds us that he was a regular person (and an incredibly funny actor with a fantastic smile).
God bless him for keeping all of these bloopers! Absolutely priceless! LOL! Thank you for sharing.
Chaplin has such a nice and kind smile. I love his film and his figure the tramp. I love the 20s humor films. I love Laurel&Hardy too.
1:03 is my favorite part when he threw the cane
Even his bloopers are GREAT! Seems like everything this man did was great.
I love his smile it's so cute he reminds me so much of Michael Jackson both so amazing
Wtf is ur problem???
Paris_ 7 dont worry about him hes obviously miserable for some reason
+Paris_ 7 Have you seen MJ's impression of CC?
1:14 ,1:22 His smile is so cute, I love his smile 😘💖💖💖💖😍😊🙂,
..
my hero
amazing!!! one of the best silent actors of all times!
He's so cute!
Thank you! It is so revealing of Chaplin's art to see his little errors and how he played around to work out his ideas. It must have been some work to find these and put them together. Thank you again.
What a tremendous comedian...what a gifted and talented man...I'm a huge huge huge fan of his movies.
Loved seeing these! It is startling to see him out of character, grinning or cussing when something goes wrong.
I just can't get myself to realize that this man has passed on, whenever I watch his movies or see how many people love him even to this day, he is very much alive!
It's really a divine thing to see a man of such admiration, especially in the field of comedy, laugh.
i love him even more now :P
Thank you SO much for this vid! I LOVE seeing him in-character and messing up. He was so adorable. I love him...
what a guy, so talanted and adorable, and this is a great clip, thank you! :)
Deadly funny. I cannot get over the timing he had...and his troupe of actors, too. Thanks for the awesome video!
Haha oh my I love this! Thank you so much! I kind of lived in a imaginary world thinking Charlie never could have made bloopers since his movies are mostly improvised. This made my day! Quite frankly he is adorable when he's angry :P But even more so when he is laughing at his mistakes. //sending lots of love to Charlie
It's good to see the man who gave so many laughs to others having a few of his own.
Such a wonderful amazing man.... I could watch him all day every day..... Charlie def puts a smile on my face... no matter how I feel
One word;
"Fascinating!" (Alright, alright - "Genius as well!")
haha thank you for sharing this! I love the scenes with Edna, although in a few she looks afraid to laugh lol, I just wish it wasn't silent :(
i love him with all my heart
Even out of character he moves like a loony toon.
I love this. I wish the entire contents of the over 400 cans of outtakes films would be released on DVD finally.
Wow, this is fascinating stuff. Pretty hilarious, too! Thanks so much for uploading!
Yeah, it was weird. But he was the director too. I bet he didn't want another wasted take within the budget.
I just love Charlie, I wasn't aware blooper shots of these films existed, thanks for sharing, amazing work you've done here.
He is lovely even when he kinda messes up too! Thanx for sharing this amazing clip :D
never seen this video. he remains the greatest artist of the twentieth century, inside and outside the set! we miss u charles!
I watch these blooper reels and modern ones from time to time to remind me how we haven't changed all that much.
Watching this I noticed that, we have lost the way. Now in days, comedians need to be vulgar to make us laugh. Why!? At least most of them.
Hard to imagine a guy that makes satire and comedy movies gets angry after a ruined gag.
+Dormammu You betta believe it, really!
That's how perfectionists are sometimes, man. These films were his babies, he wanted them to be perfect.
He makes them look like part of the act.
She was lovely! Her being barely aknowledged is what bugs me the most about the 1992 biopic, these two made a great team and Chaplin was appreciative of her all his life!
OMG, this is brilliant, I love Charlie!
I love the revolving door part, but the entire thing is hilarious!
Oh poor Charlie at the end. ! Super clip. The more I watch Jackie Chan in movies the more I think he borrowed a lot of Charlie’s antics coupled with his martial arts.
Really amazing! I would never imagine I could see stuff like this! I love Chaplin and I want more rare videos like this uploaded in CZcams... :(
Thanks for sharing this!
Chaplin was such a perfectionist, he never tolerated any mistake, this shows how much effort he put into his films. (:
1:33 ohh Genius!!
Instead of saying "cut cut!" he made it even funnier and raised a white handkerchief in signal of surrender
1:36
LMAO
Chaplin was naturally a comic genius.
I love seeing these bloopers! Thanks for posting.
These are hardly bloopers. They're pure gold
I love his sudden laugh! We don't see it much in the movies .... at least not an authentic laugh. But this is really sweet .... thanks so much!
Watching this on the day that would of been Charlie's 132nd birthday xx
Love it. There is no comedy as funny as Charlie's!😂👏
Bloopers from the 20s. Beyond amaizing :p
The masseur in that scene whhere Chaplin grabs him in a nelson grip was born before the American civil war...just imagine.
I'm glad you've posted this "harder to find" stuff. I loved Chaplin's outburst at 1:03. You can tell he worked very hard. For the most part, he seemd to actually enjoy stuff not going to plan.
a genius even when he makes mistakes. that man is absolutly brilliant. thx for posting!
That's from "The Adventurer" 1917. Shows what a practical joker he could be sometimes.
I'm actually working there right now at the Jim Henson Company. It's really cool to be on the lot everyday and savor the history of it all.
