- Saab Tech Repairs!
For a while I had been dealing with a stuck on turn signal switch on my daily, the Saab. Unfortunately, this means the CIM has to come out. Right, Scary. But fear not! In this one I take it step by step and show you how to fix the same issue. You can Service the CIM on these cars by exchanging parts. Now, let's do this!
There are many Saab enthusiastic on CZcams, like : Auto Autopsy, Weakest of Weeks & Saab Master Tech etc... They have many Saab upgrade and repair videos. Meanwhile, I myself as the owner of 2 Saab 9-3 NG, learnt much about Saab from them !
I love the caption in the end that you drove it 3000 miles so far and still no issues. Wow! 3, 000 miles in Australia means you must have needed to use the indicator switch about 10 times! 😅
FWIW, the steering wheel bolt in our 07 uses an 8mm (5/16) hex, and was incredibly easy to remove. Didnt have a socket for my impact, used a 3/8 ratchet with ease. Thanks for the upload!

Good, helpful video, albeit a bit scary when you had everything apart. I gave up trying to remove my airbag to replace my steering wheel control buttons but I noted your point about needing a SHORT stubby screwdriver. I think that might be where I was going wrong as the handle kept catching on everything.
I was able to get my blinkers to work fine, I used a metal brush to clean the corrosion, but now my high beams will not turn on. Somehow I must not be putting it together properly. I'll try again later.
I think i need to replace my CIM because horn sometime works some not. Everything else working
When doing this CIM - Module repair does it require programming new CIM Module? Or is it simply a plug and play here year I'm asking about is 03 Saab 93 arc thanks...
So what's the name of the housing unit piece for the turn signal shaft on eBay.... I can't find it
Thanks for the vid, I have purchased a CIM. Is there any reason to not just replace the whole unit, rather than the part that you remove from the CIM. I have purchased a saab genuine part. Love my 93 Aero but its startign to get hard to get parts here in Tasmania.
Jolly good video . I have the same issue , will give it a go. Thank you
Nice. While you were in there you could have added a spare key on the 93C66. You can run a wire for analog steering wheel controls from pin #2 to aftermarket stereo. Nice video.
Congrats👍🏻
Nice! I’ve got to do that to replace the steering angle sensor in the CIM. It does look a bit scary though.
Have exact same Saab but mine is an 08. Having issues with the top. Keep getting error to manually close the convertible top. Love my Saab will do all I can to keep this baby rolling. 🤘
Good work man! Looks like a bear of a job honestly… a lot of precision work. So you did not end up replacing the entire CIM? Just the component that connects to the high beam/turn signal stalk?
Thanks for putting this video together. Makes it seem achievable for me. I see a few people have already asked about the red key and you have said it came as part of a NOS cim kit you got. Would you be willing to post a photo from directly above it sitting on graph paper? Perhaps I could then create a 3d model of it to print. It looks super handy for doing the job successfully
Nice video. Any link for this parts I have the same problem. I opened I not find anything! But the left signal works always when I driving I have to push it up ⬆️ then right not works !
When you got your parts from ebay, did you buy a whole column? Where did you get the red key? Thanks for the video! You are the only source that didn’t tell me I have to go to a dealer to get my $1600 car fixed.
I have this exact same issue, need to find the part though
