Wow! To think 15 years ago I was on tour with my best friends, Adam and Tyson of 2GS, shooting this video. It was my first music video. Can’t believe it’s been 15 years and we just hit 1 million views. Pretty cool! This video was shot over back to back tours in the USA and Europe. We finished the tour in SF and a crackhead broke into Tyson’s suburban and stole two guitars and my backpack, which had about 10 tapes in it from tour. On that last night before shit got stolen we played at the The Great American Music Hall downtown. They found out I was recording the show without paying their $2000 filming fee and took my tapes. If we didn’t give them the tapes they would have kept the money from the show, which was way more than 2k. I wonder where those tapes are today and who has them. Pure gold. I was going to end the music video there at the grand venue. Not to mention have this wild party scene from Rapid City in the video. Damn you crackheads. Typical SF tho. Haha. Wild! Anyway, my new life mission is to get the 2GS back together for a reunion mini tour. How amazing would that be?! Thanks to everyone who watched the videos I made for them over the years. 2GS fans are genuine and really understand music / the depth that both adam and tyson went to make each track. All their fans are basically students of music and know what goes into it. Miss those times on tour and hanging with the homies. Ohhh The talent! Miss it so. Thanks for reading my ramble. All the best, Alex
Thank you for blessing us with this, and congrats on the 1M! I am a recent discoverer of 2GS and have become obsessed; both with the music itself and with finding whatever live recordings have been preserved by the internet. It's my desperate way of pseudo-experiencing something I arrived too late for. How likely would a reunion actually happen? And where would we first hear news of this if it does come together?
@@yaoster4u Better late than never! Welcome to the 2GS and their magical tunes. We all miss their music. No promises on any reunion but I will try to nudge them for an SF show. Would be amazing for so many of us to see them perform again. There’s no doubt! Thanks for writing 🙏🏻💪🏼
@@princesseIise I emailed them and they changed ownership. I asked if the tapes were still in the safe and they said no. Such a bummer! Beautiful footage in that amazing room too. Would be nice to find those tapes. I but they through them out 😤
I've been listening to this song for twelve years now... There is nothing else that materializes a state of mind and a desperate chase as accurately. I'm 29 now and still find myself returning to it again and again. The years are tough, my struggle to seem like I got a handle on things is even harder... The release that this song brings me is singular. I've got no clue about what happened to you guys or what you're up to now but I hope you know you've made your mark on dozens upon dozens of lives. Thank you...
Hey man, 28 here listening to the song for just as long. It's a constant battle to improve. I often feel like I'm losing.. but I'm still trying. And that's all I can really do. Life is a hard journey. Wherever you are and whatever you are doing know that I am cheering for you. We've connected through good music. And isn't good music just the icing on life?
That's really amazing to read this, wow.. I know exactly where I was when I heard this song for the first time (such a long time now), on a transmittor in my bathroom.. I was blown away, but luckily I already had internet to search down who those guys were. And like you told this song is always coming back to me , it's so genuine and it has such a great atmosphere . Obviously I don't have to explain to you guys, as I don't like explaining things .. Wonderfull, thank you and thank you gallants keep rollin', as I'm trying .. with a dtich once in a while.
I saw the guys first time in a German TV show. Mind-blowing. Later than in a show in Berlin. Good old times. I'm 47 now. :) Awesome music. What the toll tells is one of my all time favourite.
Been waiting for 7 years now to see this song and/or the band break through. Astounding to me that this brilliant song hasn't made them household names. Still the highlight of their live set as well, this song never grows old.
Was lucky enough to see these guys right here in SF in 2012.. I fell in love during that show💔 I play this song when I want to go back those memories...although what follows is the all too familiar pains of a broken heart that will never heal, I listen still because it’s so fckn’ bittersweet, the pain hurts good... This is and will forever be my favorite fkin song And to my Jim, you’ll probably never read this, but if you should ever need me , I’ll go where’er you lead me. I love you.
My mum used to play this for me in the car when she'd pick me up for the weekend while I lived with my dad. It will always stay a huge part of my childhood. Two Gallants are one of the most underrated duos to grace this earth and I hate that I could never see them live
Been listening to these guys since I was a teenager. Went to San Francisco around ten years ago and just happened to be at Amoeba Records when they played a free show.. will never forget that day for the rest of my life
I'm from England and one summer's day on MSM I got talking to a girl from SF who told me about this song and then I never heard from her again but this song has always had a big impact on me. Yeah I'm depressed and have battled addiction for a long time now and this song helps me through these dark times. Thank you tg. 🙏♥️
Because it's feral, rouge and free and our US government wants us enslaved to a broken, sad, oppressive society defined by broken homes, the wandering and the greed and lust. That is why this anthem is not played in contemporary mainstream media. That is why. John 10:10 Peachy fuzzy man. How are you? Bless you. Set yourself free.
You might have seen me 'neath the pool hall lights. Well baby I go back each night. If you got a throat I got a knife. Steady rollin', I keep goin'. Well I come from the old time baby, too late for you to save me. If I remain then I'm to blame. But if you should ever need me, I'll go where'er you lead me. It's all the same, the same old game. I don't mind how quick the seasons change. You know to me they's every one the same. The sweetest sunshine drips the drain. Death's comin', I'm still runnin'. Well I come from the old time baby, too late for you to save me. If I remain then I'm to blame. But if you should ever need me, I'll go where'er you lead me. It's all the same, the same old game. My lovin' lady she's a ball and chain. I still can travel but my speed has changed. I bring the money, I take the blame. Steady rollin', I keep goin'. But I shot my wife today, dropped her body in the Frisco bay. I had no choice it was the only way. Death's comin', I'm still runnin'. Well I come from the old time baby, too late for you to save me. If I remain then I'm to blame. But if you should ever need me, I'll go where'er you lead me. It's all the same, the same old game. Out waltzin' with the Holy Ghost, from the Bowery to the Barbary Coast. The land I'm from you know I love the most. Steady rollin', I keep goin'. And everyday is just another town. The more I search you know the less I've found. Me, I'm a sucker, just a slave to sound. Death's comin', I'm still runnin'. Well I come from the old town baby, where all the kids are crazy. If I remain then I'm to blame. But if you should ever need me, I'll go where'er you lead me. It's all the same, the same old game.

well, i've been to three of their shows and all i can say is that everyone there is extremely into what this band is doing. their shows are as intimate as their music, you just feel like there's two of your friends jamming and you just dropped in for a second.

My 21 year old son introduce me to this. I'm over 60 and I love the poetry of this music. Two guys and a great sense of poetry
You have good children!
I’m drunk laying in my dead dogs cage and I spit on myself and found this comment. Good on you and your son.

These guys are criminally underrated. Like looking back, they had and still have such a simple, yet unique and groundbreaking sound.
