This is one of the most beautiful and one of my favorite Christmas songs! We sang this in Choir in at the Christmas Eve Service when Iwas a teenager! I was born in 1978! This is a beautiful version of beautiful song! The compilation of the beautiful Christmas cards is wonderful! Thank you for posting and sharing this!
This was the first song I had to learn as part of a boys choir at the age of 8. I'm so glad I found this video... it's now 32 years later and brings back many memories!
My Grandfather Sang this at his Christmas Choir at the Baptist Church in Belmont Victoria. He is Nearly 82 years old. He has been singing in a Choir for a long time
Were you there, were you there on that Christmas night When the world was filled with a holy light? Were you there to behold when the wonder foretold came to earth? Did you see, did you see how they hailed him king, With the gifts so rare that they chose to bring? Did you see how they bowed as they praised him aloud at his birth? Did you hear how the choirs of angels sang at the glory of the sight? Did you hear how the bells of heaven rang all through the night? Did you know, did you know it was God’s own son, The salvation of the world begun? Did you know it was love that was sent from above to the earth? Did you know it was love that was sent from above to the earth?
The choir reminds me when I sang with the Kings College, in New York, what a honor to praise my King in song. It was many years ago, but I fond memories.
My favorite song of Christmas - best when done by male quartet. This UofU version is the best ever heard - eclipses anything on You Tube. Thanks for video portion. Sleeth does a marvelous Easter song = Joy Joy Joy.
I remember hearing this when it came out with a video, probably sometime in the early 90's. I thought the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sang on that record, but I can't find it anywhere. The most beautiful Christmas song I've ever heard.
the video was produced by the LDS Institute at Salt Lake Community College and was sung by The Combined choir of Institutes in the Salt Lake area, a total of 407 voices, for the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 2007. I was Section Leader/1st Chair for the Tenor I/Contratenor section. Hard to believe it was 25 years ago.
