To me, as a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan born in 1983, the 2004 Boston Red Sox was and is is in my opinion the greatest Boston Red Sox team of my lifetime and one that is above comparison because of The Reverse Of The Curse. I’ve seen 4 World Series titles won by the Boston Red Sox and the 2004 World Series title was and is to me the most bittersweet and still is today almost 20 years (wow, it’s almost been that long???!!!) later in 2020.

as a diehard red sox fan, i personally felt HE DID ask to go in the game. He wanted to get over that "your daddy" bullshit from September, he wanted to get over 2003. Another possibility was he wanted to be on display. He was not coming back in 2005. No way, he knew he was leaving Boston.

@@KDill29 look at pedro's record against the Yankees from 2002 on...actually he ended his career with a losing record against the Yankees. don't forget that he ended up losing the eventual the clincher game 6 of the 2009 world series to the Yankees...he basically got retired by the Yankees in a loss...
