I work at a environmental company where we receive hundreds of 55 gallon drums. Every day I have to unfasten then fasten hundreds of 5/8" bolts and the tool they provide us is Milwaukee impacts. Up until like 3 months ago we have been using the regular Milwaukee impact for years until our boss decided to get us the fuel edition. All I can say is wow. This fuel edition is absolutely amazing. When we first saw the fuel impact we were all laughing like wth why would he get us this tiny little thing. Once we slapped on the battery and gave that trigger a squeeze and felt the torque give our wrist a sudden jolt we looked at each other like woah. Right away we took it to the yard to test it on some 5/8" drum lid bolts and we were mind blown. The little fuel impact we laughed at kicked ass and ripped out hundreds of bolts with ease. Milwaukee impacts have been used at our yard for many years and have proven to be a powerful, reliable and durable tool. I mean we violate these tools every single day. They get dropped, covered in oil, left out in hot 120° temperatures, rained on, ran over by forklift once in a while and some guys utilize the attached battery as a rubber mallet to pound on the drum lids that give us a hard time. As a matter of fact ever since I started working for this company we have been using the same 4 Milwaukee impact drivers for 3 years. The only reason my boss had to get a new one is because one of our workers accidentally ran the impact through a industrial size hydraulic crusher the size of a room. The Milwaukee impact got smashed into a cube along with other metallic materials. Anyways that's my experience with these impact drills and no I'm not a huge Milwaukee fan. As a matter of fact I don't even own any Milwaukee tools myself but I sure could say I have had the pleasure of working with their impacts for the past few years at work. If I had to buy a drill for myself I would definitely go Milwaukee.
If you ever decide to get a Milwaukee impact for yourself and plan on mostly light to medium duty work you should absolutely get the fuel surge. It’s a hydraulic impact so it’s only about 1/3 as loud as the typical impact with all the power. They have it in m18 and m12. I’m an electrician and have the m18 fuel impact and m12 fuel surge. Typically I don’t even take my m18 impact to work with me anymore. The surge is quiet enough you could drive screws in your living room and not be that bothered compared to how loud a typical impact it. I mean I could go on and on. It’s seriously impossible to explain to someone how much better the hydraulic impacts are then typical ones if they haven’t tried one for themselves. Tons of people working in the trades are switching over because it’s a total game changer.
Ive upgraded along time ago for work but i still have that old brushed baby at home. I used it this past sunday doing a few mods on my little boat. Lovely little impact for its age, cheap as chips now too. Ideal for a young lad starting out in the trades. Its not even close power wise to my gen 4. Its also a fair bit bigger, but was a game changer in its day and just seems to go on for ever. The black rubber around it is not in the best shape any more after countless drops, some from a good hight too, but it never let me down. I have a soft spot for the old girl. On the plus side your impact bits will last far longer with the old girl and you wont snap half as many screws😂😂❤
I JUST switched from dewalt. I know milwaukee and dewalt are rivals but if you get milwauke get : 18v fuel surge or if you go dewalt get the XR MAX. Either way you have a badass impact to work with
I've been doing my research for my next upgrades. There are so many options it gets confusing. I think your comment sums it up. I screen shoted your comment so I'll remember the models. Thanks for the advice. 💪
In my opinion dewalt is the better overall if you would go tool for tool but they’re both great and the margin is so slim that you can’t go wrong with either choice you make.Theres also other brands that beat both depending on what tool you choose. What I mean is we can compare tools all day long and at the end none of us will win cause we’ll find multiple tools that the other brand will win in,yes even other tools that dewalt or Milwaukee won’t even place in the top 5…my point is don’t even commit to a certain brand unless you don’t want to buy other batteries.my brother has Milwaukee-and dewalt n I have kobalt bosch, makita, porter cable and almost any other brand we can name.i stick to the tool that’s best in that category and almost never get a tools based on brand! Edit:I’m in no way saying no one should fanboy a certain brand cause that’s your choice but I am saying is you’d probably want to go with the better tool.Id assume you can afford it if you buying them xr and fuel tools 😂
I just bought a Milwaukee drill and impact set, based on advice from my dad and friends, it’s the first real drill I’ve had (other than my cheap $20 Walmart brand brushed drill), I love it so far and I think I made the right decision over DeWalt.
@@nauidiver227 No it comes with an M12 fuel hammer drill, 2ah compact battery, a 4ah extended capacity battery, and 12v only charger if purchased as a combo kit.
It's not really about "waiting" an extra .1 seconds on screws. It's really about how long that fuel will last. Those brushed tools don't stand a chance against any brushless or fuel tool milwaukee has. If you are a homeowner go for it. But as a contractor I'd rather not have to replace tools once every 6 months.
Milwaukee for the win
Lol

Crazy light weight. I have one of those same impacts and it takes wheel lug nuts off better than my air tools on an 80 gallon compressor 🤯

@mesohunt704 I have the 12 volt surge and really like it for small projects.
Wish I could use these at work but we have to use air for everything because of flammables
They should hire you for marketing
The home Depot music 😂

I use bosch in the tech field for installs. Fantastic drill company. Reasonably priced and dependable as hell

Seen some Milwaukee guys who need more than one try to get a screw right! The tool don’t make the carpenter
elaborate what you're saying buddy
Yup, they both got the job done.
the modern brushed motor four poles is better and very strong.
Brushed is half the price.
An m12 fuel will smoke the m18 brushed too

Vote brushed impact
Who won?
Lol, okay, which one is which?
Brushless (more compact/faster) one on left. Brushed (longer/slower) on right.
:) был такой ! Поменял на фест
That new little bastard is good
Can y’all do Fuel vs M18 Brushless?
Fuel is what denotes brushless
