To me, Flannel refers to 2 things, 1- has a plaid pattern and 2- is made of a thick cloth/wool material. In most of these videos I see the plaid pattern but the shirts more often than not appear to be super thin. To me, that’s not flannel - that’s just a plaid shirt. Anyone else?
There are thin flannels as well. More for layering and business casual. Same feel of material still

Exactly, flannel is a fabric and plaid is a pattern. Both can be mutually exclusive or inclusive. Flannel is made by brushing the top layer of (mostly) cotton fabric by a metallic brush that makes it fluffy. Air is a good insulator and the fluff traps air and makes flannel warm. The shirt shown in the video does not look like flannel, however with flannels touching is believing (or close up photography). Ironheart and indigofera make best flannels.

Aaron, you used to put a premium on quality brands at a decent price, but a lot of the products you’re floating now are impractical for most of us with a budget. $99 for a casual flannel shirt is pretty steep, especially when you can get several outfits of decent fit at Marshall’s for that. I respect your decisions, it just seems like your products are going away from what most of us can comfortably afford for a single shirt. Just some feedback, respect the hustle man.

How your childhood, how your environment, how everything led up to who you are. Were you and your family in a poor financial status and you had to work for it, or was your family already wealthy? You see my family was doing alright financially and then my dad, who supports us the most, lost and hasn’t had a job for the past 5 months. He has been looking/applying for jobs but he never gets them. If this keeps up, it’s only a matter of time until we cut down to just basic life essentials. I’m worried about my family but I’m also worried about my future and what it holds for me. Alpha, please annouce a quick PSA because it's a pet peeve of mine and a common misunderstanding. Flannel is a fabric typically made of wool or cotton (usually heavy and super warm) whereas Plaid is a pattern. Plaid comes in many different fabrics and colors. Flannel also comes in many different prints but the most accepted way to wear flannel in public is as a plaid print, hence the misuse of plaid and flannel.

Another way you can wear a flannel is by buttoning the bottom button and tucking in the flannel into your jeans. It rocks that 50's rock 'n roll look, and will go down with some skinny or tight fit jeans, a pair of high top Converse's, Van's' Chelsea boots or whatever. Top the look of with some Wayfarer style sunglasses and a belt. Wear any t-shirt you want. I go for the plain, white t-shirt and it looks so fucking good.
