A lot of the shows IMO, are better without the audience laughing sound, including the classic Mr Bean. So I had a small hope that they could release these shows without the laughing audience.
The original exam supervisor was Rudolph Walker, who would then go on to appear in EastEnders as Patrick Trueman about a decade later. The exam supervisor here is John Savident, who then appear ed in Coronation Street as Fred Elliott just 3 years later. Love how both supervisors were played by actors who would later appear in two rival soap operas lol

I got stuck in the final problem and couldn't even comprehend what was asked for a long time. Then, with little over 5 minutes left, I finally understood the problem and realized I knew the solution. I managed to rapidly scribble a somewhat structured solution and even draw a figure to support my answer, finishing just seconds before the time was up and pens had to be put down. Results of the exam? I got 35 out of maximum 36 points :)
An ability that cannot be expected from any other actor ever again. It's hard to explain the feeling of hearing that background music. I'm still 31 years old and when I hear that music I feel like I'm old now because my childhood was spent very happily because of this man
As a math instructor I can really appreciate this. It also is quite a fact that the words "Trigonometry" and "Calculus" still instill fear in people who have seen it long time ago. Math does leave its impact...:)

I'm not sure if it has ever been specified if he had an official job. I know for the US movie he was supposed to some kind of museum guard or something like that for the painting of Whistler's Mother.

Nope, this is WORSE than the tv version. Theres some hiccups or weird transitions like the throwing pen missing, the guy instant reaction when bean scooted next to him as opposed to a sec delay, the rush shouting from the examiner at the end, the missing alarm clock and its set off.

This looks like it was produced with the intention of being shown before films in American cinemas in 1991. It's the same production team as the TV series but HBO co-distributed it based on the credits. I guess this was a way of introducing Mr. Bean to Americans? Very curious footnote for the history of Mr. Bean.
The whole time I never knew that the first part of the pilot to “Mr. Bean” was remade into a short film. But this was still enjoyable and hilarious either way. It would’ve been cool if they included the scene towards the end where Mr. Bean went “woah, mummy” and started crying. 😂 Other than that, it was awesome.
