- I think I was born to junk pick! It's been in my blood to thrift and junk pick since I was a small child. I love taking other's unwanted junk and turning them into beautiful treasures!! In today's video I hope to inspire you to take a piece trash and turn it into a beautiful treasure!!
I know that everyone wants holiday DIY's and upcycles, but I've been under the weather, so I grabbed this table out of my stash this morning and started the transformation. I absolutely love how this turned out and I can't wait to get it in one of my vendor booths! I know that this is going to fit perfectly into someone's home!
I hope I've inspired you to go out and junk pick someone else's trash and turn it into beautiful treasures.

Found an easy method to paint spindles...put clear plastic glove on then slip a sock on over the glove. Dip into the paint and paint.

I’m definitely a trash collector. I’ve saved many pieces of furniture n give them another life. Your table turned out really nice. I like the design of the tissue paper you used. The only thing that I would of done different was taking the corners of the top n rounded them off. That table has a lot of curves, look at the feet there’s curves. I think it would look more together with your corners rounded or curved. You did a nice job on it.
I would love to know if that beautiful round table you found is oak. Also if the top was a veneer. If it’s oak n paint hasn’t gotten into the wood then I would refinish it n not paint it. Or paint the base but leave the top natural wood stained if you want.
I’m sorry, it’s your table do what you want. It’s just I love old furniture on definitely antiques.

oops... lol I was saying I'm jealous. That you can pick up things along the road or street. In Michigan most towns have laws against picking things out of trash or garbage. And because they have so many rules what you can put out for garbage day. So even out here living out in the country or out in the boonies. LOL. Lucky you. Once in a while some put out by the road and put sign on things. FREE. Even that is not offten.

You make me laugh! One of my friends and I were driving home from dinner a couple of nights ago and stopped to pick up 3 chairs left on the side of the road. Only one would fit in my car so we took off like a rocket to her house to grab her car. We were laughing the whole way back hoping the other 2 would still be there. All 3 are in amazing shape! I love how this turned out. So pretty. When you mist the paper are you misting both side? I want to try this technique.
You can mist both sides, but you don’t have to. Misting the paper just helps to open the fibers in it to allow more flexibility. 😊
Beautiful transformation and I love the subtlety of the paper. I'm a little confused Royce's method though, are you misting the board after applying a medium or misting the paper (which side?) or both?
Hello Ellen, I misted the decoupage paper on the printed side. This allows the fibers in the paper to open and will make the paper more flexible. I hope this answers your question! 😊

Thank you Renee! With the DIY paints, it’s easy to tell when they are dry. The color of the paint will turn a lighter shade when it is completely dry. You can also use a hair dryer or heat gun to speed up this process. 😊
How do you keep your paint brushes so clean. They always look new?
Debi’s paint brushes and DIY paint make it pretty easy to clean. If you let the paint brush soak in water for a bit most of the paint will come out by itself. 😊Then I wash it with warm soapy water to get the rest!
I always say curb alert! I don’t like the connotation of the word garbage!
