I love that meshuggah even said they won't ever play this live as the entire construction of the song differs so much from how they normally do- it was IIRC Thomas in the drum studio just playing without thinking too much about meter, then subsequently they cut some of it up and rearranged it, added guitar/bass/vocals, revisited it with new drum parts. And it sounds so cohesive regardless. For other bands they'd try to hide this sort of thing, but I love that Meshuggah are so open about their writing process and how they just fundamentally don't operate like other bands. The fact that people have since managed to memorize this song is so wild to me.
Absolutely fucking astounding! Thanks a lot for charting all of this, it will certainly be a help once I get around to trying to memorize this 20 minute fuckfest. Thanks again, your help is immeasurable!
actually this chart is not identical, but did you use that one for reference? For example 5:40 is two kick hits between the snares, not continuous double bass... Good effort though but I'm curious how much you charted yourself VS edited from someone else's chart. (I have been seeing this on YT with people uploading Car Bomb and other phase shift customs and they are just taking someone elses chart and putting there name on it with some edits here and there...)
I'm not trying to s*** on Lachadnes chart it's just my autism pointing out that little bit, but overall hugely great effort and good attention to the ghost/rimshotted snares in that one section
playing this song feels like being trapped in purgatory
A lifeless object alive?

I made the whole chart myself :)
Nice Chart, thanks!
Wow… incredible
Thanks for the great work, there is like 1 other chart of this song and it is so bad and almost unreadable

What game is this? I dont remember any game having this many lanes?
It's called Phase Shift, charting can be much more accurate :)
