Pilot Whales in the south of Pico Island Azores | Futurismo

👉 An incredible encounter with a pod of around 14 long-finned pilot whales, 2 larges males, females, calves and juveniles 🤩🤩
It seemed to be the same group that was seen in these waters in 2022. They made their appearance just a few days earlier, 2 days in a raw like last year, before to leave the area. What a wonderful sighting, with typical behaviours observed from this species, specially their incredible curiosity towards the boats! Despite their strong physical resemblance to the much more commonly seen short-finned pilot whales, the presence of long-finned pilot whales in these waters is a rare occurrence.
