La melodía original es de un concierto de oboe de Alessandro Marcello, músico barroco veneciano, como el inigualable Antonio Vivaldi. Durante décadas no se conocía el autor, por lo que el concierto se conocía como "anónimo veneciano". Una película romántica de los años 1960 con el mismo título popularizó está melodia, y más tarde investigaciones de musicólogos revelaron el verdadero autor. Johann Sebastián Bach conocía y apreciaba las obras de Vivaldi y Marcello, y transcribió muchos conciertos de Vivaldi ( como la serie "L' estro armónico") y algunos de Marcello para clave y órgano. Me... As a young person and knew you were teaching piano I would definitely go where you are and take lessons. Watching you play each note is so alive in the pieces that you play... the classical pieces magnificent. My last teacher was from Norway and he had the same technique and he taught me a lot of that when I was in my 50s. I'm now 81 so I still want to do better on the piano. I am so glad they're showing your fingers and technique as you play a lot more now and your productions are excellent.

@@stedfo111 Yes I've heard However, Olafsson's interpretation is too quick for me. What one must not forget is that the perception of time at that time was different than it is today. Many pieces of music from this era are played too fast, as if it were just a matter of showing one's own virtuosity
@@tanjasiegburg1440 I really like some slow kind of music and to be honest only the dead know which speed they actually used. In my ears Vikingur is a genius. He presents the soul of the music and takes me on a journey of joy. But thats the nature of music. Som like it and some don't. I heard a lot of versions of the original Marcellos music and still enjoy Vikingur.
