Impulse: understood every mechanism but not very fast; Grian: didn't really understand things but his mind clicks in with the puzzles

Well when Impulse looks at a mechanism, he thinks of how it will work in a build. When Grian looks at one, he thinks of how he can use it to mess with people. So clearly he had the true advantage haha
you can understand a puzzle without understanding the solution, and solve a puzzle without understanding it one bit both are fun

Impulse remembered the Dwarf, Bdubs found the most clocks, and Grian was the fastest to try fishing. Some things never change!

We saw Bdubs’ best time because if I’m right, this is his first Scott escape room, so Bdubs did set a record for the fastest time for himself lol

Grian: Speeds through the whole thing while barely understanding the mechanics and just doing random stuff.
Impulse: Goes slow, but understands what’s happening
Joel: Just doing his best and surprising going really fast
Gem: Slightly cheesing it
Pearl: starts off extremely slow but manages to regain time
Bdubs: slowly dying on the inside

I am happy because I did guess Grian. Of all the hermits, he seems like the one who would go to escape rooms IRL.
True. I think Grian is actually very smart and his chaotic persona might be quite a bit of acting. I remember when they invited friends on the hermitcraft server to play decked out and the hermits mentored the newcomers. And Grian was by far the best mentor. His instructions were quick, short, clear and precise, exactly what you need as a player who wants to go far in a short amount of time. He might even make a good drill seargent ^^
I mean chaotic doesn’t mean dumb. He’s just playful and mischievous which often takes priority over choosing the logical and serious route lol
Bdubs's "That was a gamer move!" better become a horn at Cubs shop
Grian knows to make and use the fishing rod on the pressure plate because Cubfan trapped him with the same trick to get out.
Impulse trying to be perceptive and missing the most obvious things is so funny compared to Grian using his two brain cells to just brute force this
And Gem just accidentally completing the puzzles like: "You never said I couldn't." Master loophole finder right there.
1) If this was closer to when season 10 started, Scott should have told Grian to get a mending book from the water
2) I would love to see an Empires season 2 escape room, maybe to like destroy Grumbot again or smth with the rift

I love that despite Scott's experience with designing escape rooms, they keep finding ways to cheese it. Like Gem finding a way to skip the start, or Bdubs using the pots to parkour.
The way i instantly went "oh break the pots!" When i loaded the video, heard the "cant break blocks" rule, gave up on the idea, and screamed CALLED IT when they started breaking it
Gem doing it the wrong way and still getting it sorta right is HILARIOUS to me
It would be fun to see multiple contestant doing this in a vc so they can hear each other and do it at the same time, but in different (identical) courses
In case you did not know, while in Spectator Mode, if you punch a player or mob, you “possess” them and are capable of perceiving through their eyes

So I'm 100% confident that Joel went first, Gem went second, and Grian went last. Based on exchanges in the episode, I think the full order is:
Joel, Gem, Pearl, Bdubs, Impulse, and Grian.
Impulse's gave me the most difficulty, but based on how Scott specifies Impulse needs to use his fist on the button at the beginning AND only thinks to tell Bdubs at the end, it makes sense that he went right before Impulse.

1:34 I think Grian is either gonna be the quickest or get really stuck at one point get really mift and then pester Scott until he comes last. Joel will be second and get upset cuz it’ll be like by a tiny bit, he’ll have missed one of the clocks and will get funnily upset. Bdubs again will either be the best or the worst, though I’d go closer to the rougher side, comming either last or second to last. Impulse will be pretty par for the course, good at any redstone style stuff, but get stuck easily on everything else, probably pretty mid scoring. Gem either Wins or comes 3 pretty good time, but gets shouty when she gets stuck, does one of her classic long drawn out hightish pitched groans like “ Sccccooooootttttt.. ggrr” but overall does pretty well.
If pearl doesn’t win shes 3rd or 4th.
